RACE 1

LYRICS ‘N’ SONG was good at Cranbourne first-up without room in an on-pace dominated race and can improve further second-up as she did winning last preparation, small field suits. LOUD CHARLIE was well-supported and well-ridden dominating off the front this track & distance last start when dropping back from a stakes race. Similar tactics give him another winning chance. MERIMBULA was no match for a runaway winner at Pakenham first-up, blinkers added could spark improvement. ENGINE OF WAR is fresh off a Derby prep and has a turn of foot, 1500m is a suitable distance range.

RACE 2

GRAND OMAHA is the filly taking on the older horses, solid on-speed at Pakenham first-up when only outsprinted over the final 100m, if Patty Moloney can get her out and rolling forward again to make use of her light weight she can give this a shake. VIANARRA is in good form, game in the chase here last start, we get a line through that form in the previous (Loud Charlie). ALL BUSINESS was a noted drifter last start settling at the rear, drops in grade and can go forward, await the COT? STRAAND DEAL may end up the best horse, wide gate means he’ll go back and need to swoop with M Zahra up.

RACE 3

Perfect race for OLIVEANOTHERDAY to go back-to-back to start the preparation, impressive at the jumpouts and carried it through to race-day with a dominant win at Ballarat in BM70 company, again placed to win and drawn to repeat the performance. IMMERSE has been jumping out well to resume in benchmark company, she’s had a host of gear changes. ALZARO tackled stronger races last time in, jumpouts have been no guide, watch betting. HOTSPUR REALE enjoys a gun run from the barrier.

RACE 4

SANTANA was backed to win first-up, he found the coffin tucked away behind the speed and got out when it was too late. He is certain to improve with fitness and finds a weaker race, Melham can park outside lead from the wide draw. NAR NAR GOON has talent, big and raw in his first campaign, looks to have improved further at the jumpouts and ear muffs come off for race-day. TEN WARRIORS is a long time maiden due a win, BIG KAPOW and DAMA ROYALE both have some claims in an open race.

RACE 5

Tricky race. Speed should be good early, HALLOWED HALLS is suited stepping up to 1800m, he was ok from a midfield position at Sandown, the key is the draw, can see him landing closer in the run from the inside. CURSE IT and SOTOMAYOR followed each other home here last start, both have been cruelled by the barriers, there is speed on to bring them home if good enough. EN FLIQUE is up to this grade and can she too can settle closer from a low draw and is one of many chances.

RACE 6

MR BLUNT showed ability in his 1st preparation winning two races after joining Team McEvoy, two jumpouts, yet to race on turf, should be able to use the draw to be forward early. ETERNAL was heavily-supported at this track first-up and had no luck, the barrier is niggly. SPARKLING LUCK steps up in grade after an impressive metro maiden win, drawn well. TOLPUDDLE has caught the eye at the jumpouts, no shock to see him run a race for the Nick Ryan stable.

RACE 7

RHIA stood out when making ground in a recent jumpout, she’s come back from a 46 day let-up and goes well fresh. TIZ WORTHY was luckless here two starts ago and the market found her at Pakenham sent out short odds and result never in doubt, don’t mind the wide gate for her as she likes to balance up. NORMANDY LASS creates interest first-up, suitable race, jumpouts hard to gauge, watch betting. MRS IGLESIA next best having to overcome a bad barrier.

RACE 8

AUXILLARY is still lightly-raced with more upside and scorched the turf winning a Cranbourne jumpout. Apprentice Holly Durnan can park him outside leader MARTIAL MUSIC coming off a last start win at Echuca when leading throughout. Drawn the inside, he looks another leading chance. RUNLIKEANENCRYPTION was game in defeat in a stronger race in Sydney, she likes this track. REGENERATION strikes a strong race fresh and a niggly draw, more upside than most.
