Scott Embry’s Wednesday Pinjarra Preview Posted on May 13, 2025May 13, 2025 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 PATRON EXPRESS resumed over 1200m which is well short of his best distance, but aided by a set of blinkers and a perfect ride from apprentice Brayden Gaerth he was able to get the job done. Steps to 1400m which only suits him better, should get a near identical run and hopefully produce the same result on his way towards the winter Belmont features. AMARLIME looked vulnerable last start back in distance but still ran well. COSTA STAR has put in two eye catchers this campaign. RALLY THE TROOPS can control. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 5 – 4 Suggested Bet – PATRON EXPRESS WIN RACE 2 DIAMOND WARRIOR drops into a maiden for the first time in his short career after contesting a Perth Stakes on debut behind Castle Road and subsequent WA Sires Produce winner Just Too Fly before being run off his legs in an 1100m behind Capitola. Both 1200m and Pinjarra look a better option for him. HOLLER NUFF has shown more than enough at trials to suggest that he will be winning races as a juvenile. Covered the ground really nicely in his most recent and is likely a price. RAYLANA put a gap on them in her trial win and has barrier 1 to her advantage. IN CONFIDENCE will improve with racing. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 9 – 7 Suggested Bet – DIAMOND WARRIOR WIN RACE 3 OUR PALADIN AL could not have been more impressive on debut. He was drawn awkwardly, forced to cover plenty of additional ground, did plenty wrong and yet still marched motors with subsequent winner Fast Harry. Like the gear change made and with the benefit of a run under his belt keen to be with him at his second start. HOPE TO ADMIRE showed last start that his eye catching run at 200-1 behind Exceed The Planet was no fluke. FIRE THE LOT has gradually improved with each trial. STRYKER’S GAL is consistent but finds one or two better each time. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 6 – 8 Suggested Bet – OUR PALADIN AL WIN RACE 4 MA MA BELLE will need the right ride and the right back to follow into the race but looks ready to win. First-up forgive when four deep and worked to the line strongly second-up. Not a deep maiden and gets her chance. Will need eachway and expect to get it. RANYX was held up the entire length of the home straight first-up in a 3 year old Saturday race. Unsighted second-up but at least he’s now back into a maiden. MAGGIE JEAN much better suited into a maiden. NOBLE TOUCH has no weight on her back and a positive racing pattern. Numbers: 8 – 2 – 10 – 7 Suggested Bet – MA MA BELLE EACHWAY RACE 5 ANGEL SHAME was produced first-up at 1800m by Kirsten Melis for victory and the form held up last weekend through Elegant Indi. Out and out stayer and most importantly, Lucy Fiore sticks. Has to be some trust issues considering she jumped north of 80-1 but these 50+ staying races are weak. OCEAN RANGER looked to have the race wrapped up last start before in form stayer Keggs Later nabbed him. He’s ready. SIR DUSKIN is on trial at the trip but Arthur Mortimer’s are tough. MIRRORSCHINO was well found in betting last start and duly saluted. Numbers: 6 – 10 – 1 – 9 Suggested Bet – ANGEL SHAME EACHWAY RACE 6 ORACLE SON is a more than capable sprinter when he puts his mind on the task. He trialled really well down the straight leading into his first-up C5 1000 victory and has been back to trials in between. First time down the straight (on race day) an unknown but there’s only one previous straight 1000 winner in the field. MADE IN MEXICO is that horse and given he’s drawn to lead against the outside fence and the fact Adam Durrant’s are going super he must be respected. OSCAR CHARLIE is going super for the new yard. FINAL AUTHORITY trialled well but it’s been a long time. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 7 – 5 Suggested Bet – ORACLE SON WIN RACE 7 HAIDA GWAII won well first up sitting in the breeze outside of subsequent winner Lucky I Am. Second up went straight to a 3 year old Saturday and found Kay Tee Why far too sharp. Back to a C1 is key. SNIPER’S SON ran well enough behind Hezangelic last start. He’s got the outside fence available to him, so do they go back to riding him for speed? ZEEZEA has always shown plenty and her trial was great, but barrier 1 on the ‘wrong’ side brings most undone. DENVER AFFAIR won well last start in the Brett Pope trifecta. Numbers: 6 – 2 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – HAIDA GWAII WIN RACE 8 ROMMING DANGER finds a very similar map/race profile to where she won first-up. They’ll burn early behind Three Grand/Uukhai/Bartime and that will allow Chanel Cooper to find a position midfield cover and allow her to work into the race from on straightening. UUKHAI has turned a corner since they started riding him for speed. He’s a hard going type and they’re now allowing him to stride and working with him rather than against him. THREE GRAND needs to jump. If she does, then with no weight she’ll be hard to run down. AZENA trialled really well for new trainer Steele Casey. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 8 – 6 Suggested Bet – ROMMING DANGER EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,5,6,9,10 2,6,7 2,6 1,2,6,8,12 Market Market
