Harry Buchanan’s Saturday Greyhound Best Bets Posted on January 27, 2024January 27, 2024 | Posted by TABtouch CANNINGTON Race 2 No. 3 Sunset Louie Giving him another chance after a slightly disappointing run last week. A steady start would be best here so he can drop to the fence to start his work. Will get home well after that. Can atone. Race 3 No. 7 Flying Freda A repeat of last week will see her give these far too much to handle. Wide boxes are of no concern and only a slow getaway will see her go under here. Race 4 No. 4 Speed Freak and No. 3 Ballistic Ant This fav is expected to bounce back but he was disappointing last week so I’m happy to take him on. The 4 is the most likely to offer stiff competition. She set new track record figures at Mandurah last week and goes just as well here. She will settle forward and she can stay. As can the kennel mate in 3 who also has early speed. She is one paced after that but doesn’t stop and will keep grinding home. Both can give some sight here, especially the 4. Race 6 No. 1 Pudding Monelli Box the big key here. He will hold the fence while the early splitters go forward and he take inside runs through the middle to work home strong. Could land a lot closer than usual and he showed two starts ago he’s still got a lot to offer. Top two hope. Race 7 No. 7 Bunji Man and No. 1 Carter Axelrod Looking for a couple to be knocking on Crumbles door here. The 7 is one who can come from anywhere and he is racing well. Wants across quickly but handles most boxes fine. The 1 is racing well and could land closer than most think. He finishes off well over this trip and he did get past this fav last week in the run home. Both can upset him here. Race 8 No. 4 Spider Venom Tremendous win over the shorter trip last week and can transfer that back to the 500 now. Will get the fence quickly and he can reel off the good sections up the back and home. Definite top two threat here and can win again. Race 10 No. 8 Fabs Max Potato The only dog in this who can descend from the back. His last few have been super and he continues to finish his races off well. He doesn’t run any real time but all these have question marks over them where this trip is concerned. He just needs to be close enough and can hit top two again. THE MEADOWS Race 6 No. 2 Smooth Plane and No. 8 Ethanol Volume The 2 will begin fast here and if he holds the arm, will take no end of catching. Fast dog who can run time over the sprint and he’s strong. The 8 showed what he’s got last week with a big finishing win and while he gets around the middle of the track, he just keeps sustaining that strong run home. Will again look to get into this late. Race 7 No. 1 Jalpa Bale and No. 6 Gary Stun On The 1 finally draws a box and she can run a race here. Been plagued by horrid maps and while she doesn’t set the clock alight, she keeps coming when she gets that fence. Place heavy each way. The 6 will go well if he hops out here. Runs time on the arm and while he can come from off it, he has the early burn when he steps and goes well this circuit. Hard to beat. Race 9 No. 8 Stella Girl Steps up to the long trip and she has to do something this time. She can stay and has been getting too far out of her ground over the middle trips. Small field suits and gets her chance now. Top two prospect here. Race 10 No. 7 Mepunga Smokey and No. 8 Meteor Monelli The 7 needs to step but he has terrific muster when does and he could sweep across here take the arm. Hard to catch if he does. The 8 will get a nice cart over as well and he has some strength about him up the back and could run over these if chiming in at the right time. Both strong hopes in this. Race 12 No. 3 Bomb Murt Got the job done last week in style and the map stays he can go close again. Has a great middle section up the back and he can hold that all the way home to go his low to sub 30. Comes from anywhere, big threat. WENTWORTH PARK Race 2 No. 2 Kangaroo Jack Needs to spear here to give this fav some early pressure and if holds him out, he will go close to going all the way. Even so, he can come from behind and will not lay down here no matter where he lands. Consistent and goes well in this. Race 7 No. 2 Zipping Remus Disappointed last week so getting one more go off a good draw. Has yet to fire two runs back from a trip away so this is his chance to show his old sub 29.5 form. Needs to get into this earlier. Hard beat if he does. Race 8 No. 7 Go Bears Great run from Bears in the Paws final last week off a tough draw. Normally handles these boxes fine so going again here because this map looks better. Is racing better than ever at the moment and will make his presence felt. Market Market
