Matt Young’s Monday Pinjarra Preview Posted on June 1, 2026June 1, 2026 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 Open maiden to kick things off and I’m going to fall back into SHOOBETCHA (3) who nearly beat Texas Storm back on ANZAC Day, anything near that run would see him nearly lead and win this but nothing after has substantiated the run, confusion has set in at this point. NELLYS WORLD (7) has shown promise, wide gate to overcome and drops in grade, expecting her to go well. MAXMEMATE (1) is improving and is ideally drawn, shouldn’t be far away. TORREVEAN ENVY ME (8) returns and has the soft draw, might need the run but has the talent to play a part. PRICEOFADMISSION (10) wasn’t a bad effort on return and could be a further improver in this. Tips: 3 7 1 8 Suggested Bet: SHOOBETCHA (3) to win. Race 2 Couple of talented maidens in this. STRONG THE STRIKER (10) has always shown good ability but was mixing his form before going for a break, his best is good enough to return a winner in this. PARAGLIDER (4) has been racing nice types and has fitness on his side, ready to win and will be in the thick of it. OF CLAUS IM GOOD (5) was green but talented last time in, hopefully has matured and will see the best of him this time in, respect on return. ROCKNROLL LIBERTY (2) is a novelty chance in this grade and looks the clear next pick outside the top 3. Tips: 10 4 5 2 Suggested Bet: STRONG THE STRIKER (10) to win. Race 3 HALFMOONBAY (12) has elevated in recent runs and takes a further rise in grade again, draws difficult and steps up in trip, few queries there if he opens a shorter price after some solid form. Early speed will be interesting with MAJOR OVERS (1) not racing at his best but has good early speed with ERA (2) who is building into the prep has some speed and COLORADO BANNER (3) also has some gate speed. ME FLASH (5) is ready to win but lacks early speed these days so the draw is a query to where he will land. BALINGUP BOY (6) is capable but comes in fresh off the back of a decent trial. BY ROYAL COMMAND (4) will need to find a spot but is also building with improvement on every run this time in. Few convictions on the main chances in an open race. Tips: 12 6 4 2 Suggested Bet: HALFMOONBAY (12) to win. Race 4 HEAVENLY BLISS (1) is back in winning form with 2 of her last 4 starts and has the speed to lead, looks a major player in this and should lead and give them something to catch. STIRUP IRON JACK (8) has the lovely draw and could be dangerous late, loves being on the rails. IM DRINKINDOUBLES (2) is going better than form reads, I’m giving him another chance as he already has a position and shouldn’t be too far away from them, could improve sharply at value. GALVINSTON JOHN (3) likely runs the arm and probably holds the breeze but not racing at his best. Could be an awkward map for HARRYS A ROCKSTAR (4) who continues to race without much luck. CRUNCH THE NUMBERS (9) will be following through but do prefer this horse on speed. Tips: 1 8 2 9 Suggested Bet: STIRUP IRON JACK (8) each way. Race 5 MCGEE (10) should improve further off that last win, looks a nice horse and think we will see nice horse performances from this former Victorian going through the grades for Jemma Hayman. JUSTLIKEFLAIR (6) steps up in trip for the first time but is progressive and stepping nicely, good test for this nice type but I think it will be a learning experience. ULTIMATE TESS (7) is holding good consistency and is doing it correctly which is a major plus for connections, she will not be far away again. LUVAFLAIR (11) will be running on, she is quality but is equally marked with the handicap. BEE BEE BEROC (1) a novelty chance also. Tips: 10 7 6 11 Suggested Bet: MCGEE (10) to win. Race 6 MISTER CONSTITUTION (7) was solid on return and should bounce off that run nicely, wide draw to overcome but think the upside is there to follow along in a wide-open race. ELLEOFAREACTOR (1) has a nice draw and could be close to the speed, will be dangerous at some point. BLOCKJORG (4) will roll the gate and look to try and lead, winning chance if she does, gets harder if she doesn’t. DAMAGE DONE (5) might run the gate hard and could improve with a forward position. BE HOME SOON (6) is proving to be versatile but plenty happening around him, capable of going back-to-back. Tips: 7 1 6 4 Suggested Bet: MISTER CONSTITUTION (7) each way. Race 7 LORD PUBLISHER (1) is ready to win, last two runs have been big and gets the draw, has good early speed and looks hard to cross and beat in this, deserves a victory. EASTBRO CHRISSY (10) looks suited to this grade and must be respected on WA debut, has won plenty of races already. CHARIVARI (4) is a concern to the pole markers chances as he can get fiery at times, third up and was disappointing being beaten last time out, talented on speed type. LOU LAMOUR (7) is a speedy beginner, he didn’t perform as well when leading last time out and they have decisions to make with him from the gate, might roll the arm and hope to find a spot and has proven he can do it at both ends recently, with a sit. LADY CAMEL (8) is a novelty chance from the draw, has been luckless and should get every chance to earn here. CURADH (12) will be running on, last run was good but needs a tempo to bring him into it. Tips: 1 10 8 12 Suggested Bet: LADY CAMEL (8) to place. Race 8 SNAKEY BAY (1) was disappointing last time out but back to the lightning lap could see a return to form, has good early speed and has options. RUIA (3) is the best horse ability wise going forward, looks a nice type yet to break through this time in, should be ready to win but wouldn’t want to dive in too short. STAPLETON (7) has returned well and likely to push the button and get forward, if he could get to the breeze quickly, he could run a good race. BULL SHARK BETTY (8) returns and has plenty of ability at her best, nice draw to be dangerous late. IDEAL INTEREST (9) has come back well and is a novelty chance with LUKE ATTACK (10) who was poor last time out but has a great record at this trip. Tips: 3 1 8 9 Suggested Bet: BULL SHARK BETTY (8) each way. Race 9 HENRIK LARSSON (10) faces a simple equation, if he steps, I think he will win but he bombed the start last time out, was tailed off then caught the field and finished with them, he was massive, wouldn’t want to dive in too short but looks very hard to beat with a safe getaway. TWOBOB CRACKER (7) has returned nicely and happy to play him if he is an each way price, loves the trip and stand starts and could just poke through and be dangerous. BLAMEITONTHENIGHT (8) is ready to win but he is mostly driven for his speed therefore needs a touch of luck as well and likely be shorter in the market. BLAZING REACTOR (12) capable but 60m is an incredibly tall order in this. I SEE FIRE (1) is a novelty chance with INTO THE FUTURE (5) and TUBBS FARQUHAR (6). Tips: 10 7 8 5 Suggested Bet: HENRIK LARSSON (10) to win. Race 10 SONIC SEELSTER (5) can use his speed to lead but gee he is a hard horse to catch, he is speedy, but the home straight appears as far as Flemington on some occasions for him, this looks suitable and he should cross and be the one to beat. STRAYLYA (8) was KO’d two of his last three, think he’s racing well enough but just needs a touch of luck to be dangerous late. CHEVRONS GOLD (1) could improve from the draw and getting a soft run, held his own in town two starts ago. SUNPATRA (9) is racing with consistency and is a winning chance. IDONTWANABEAPIRATE (7) faces a challenging draw but suitable grade, isn’t one to do his own dirty work though. Tips: 5 8 9 1 Suggested Bet: STRAYLYA (8) each way. Market Market
