Harry Buchanan’s Monday Greyhound Best Bets Posted on July 24, 2023July 24, 2023 | Posted by TABtouch NORTHAM Race 3 No. 4 Royal Fun and No. 5 Firehouse Mac Whilst the red deserve favouritism, these two should be breathing down his neck in the market and they are surprisingly not. The 4 will go fast here and she lost the first turn last week. Improves a stack this time. While the 5 doesn’t win many, most of these won’t know why they have to keep going after 300m and that’s where the 5 can pick them off. Both dogs can give this fav a lot to worry about. Race 4 No. 3 Commander Mack and No. 5 Entry Level If only we knew the 3 had seen this track in a trial. He will absolutely relish the extra ground to the first turn here and his superior muster will all but lead these if they give him any room at all. It’s the first turn that is the concern. He gets wide anyway but could lose the turn completely. If he leads and handles that turn then its au revoir. The 5 will be the one descending here and he only needs a passage to storm over these. Racing well and won’t miss the frame with a trouble free run. They should both go close here with the right runs. Race 5 No. 4 Rona’s Rocket and No. 8 Jackson Keeping The 4 plummets to grade 5 here and will find something in this company. Can go some time and doesn’t have to lead either. Good railer and will keep coming in this easier field. The 8 will go fast here and look for the arm quickly. Ran down last start but in good time and only has to repeat to score here. Well boxed. Race 6 No. 6 Sammy Can Browse and No. 7 Dozer Can Browse A couple of window shoppers here. Sammy and Dozer, like most the breed, enjoy this circuit. Sammy goes quick early and has a fast win here yet can also come from just off them. Dozer continues to improve and she also puts herself up there early and sticks on well. Both will be searching for prominent spots and can sustain the run home to hit the frame. Race 7 No. 4 Shian Pedro and No. 7 Aerodynamic Girl There is no doubt the 4 could beat these twice if he wanted to. His last couple have been suspect as the runs indicate he has a problem but seems to pull up fine. That means he’s got some action going on up top so the freshen up will hopefully switch him on. If it has, these are gone. Don’t be stunned if the 7 swishes over here and leads, then don’t be stunned again if she keeps going. Her best work is on the arm and there aren’t too many who want it here. Her best step will give her a chance to grab the lead and give a huge sight. Race 9 No. 1 Saige Teniele and No. 2 Kinjarling The 1 is airborne. Has got the job done twice for us now lately but it was last start when she somehow led and went 29.6 at Cannington. No it’s not a typo, she really did lead. Box 1 here and the rest should be a formality if she steps ok. Expect the 2 to show us something this time. Good draw and he can hop out quickly to give a sight on the arm. Can be hard to run down too when he gets his own way so don’t ignore him here. The red should go close though Race 10 No. 6 Sassy Blade Well the rain got the job done in the Ashes and Sass will be hoping for the same thing at Northam. She is one of very few dogs who actually do improve on a wet track. Unlike horses, it really doesn’t matter to dogs but it’s seem to matter to Sass. She actually gets in well here and her price isn’t reflective of her chances or grade drop. She’s capable of springing the big upset here or at least hitting the frame late. Race 11 No. 1 Refer To Trader and No. 7 Something Fun The 1 looks to have this at her mercy. Been racing far better dogs in class and drawn to get right there and put these to a very sharp sword. Only bad luck the nemesis here. The 7 could get over here if the red did make an error and give a sight on the arm. She actually went really well last week and can lead these with a good step. Small EW saver on her. Race 12 No. 3 Zearfoss This fav will be very hard to stop, but the 3 will be more than happy to knock on the door if the 2 does make an error. Racing at the her best right now and just looking for a better step over this shorter trip to make this fav work for her win. Should hit the frame at least and is priced to play that way. EW all day to take us out. Market Market
