Scott Embry’s Wednesday Belmont Preview Posted on September 3, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 NAUGHTY BY NATURE looks the clear cut winner. After a nice trial effort opened a big price on debut and was crunched. Ran an absolute ripper. Held up at crucial stages at her second career outing and now stepping to 1700m looks like she will accelerate straight past moderate opposition. MOAMA ROSE looks like she will stick on over the trip. MISTINGUETTE finished off well in a race where the first two look nice animals. VITAL IMAGE should get every chance from the draw. Numbers: 5 – 4 – 8 – 1 Suggested Bet – NAUGHTY BY NATURE WIN Race 2 WARBLER looks set to make it an early double for W.Pike. Trialed very impressively when leading throughout at Lark Hill and looked to have a fair bit in reserve. Should lead and win. LEICA JAGUAR really stretched a nice one last start when running into Born to Try. Drawn awkwardly but has ability. BOBCAT JOHNNIE is a huge lumbering 7 year old only having start number three but it is hard not to be impressed with the trial. JARMAN got a long way out of his ground first-up, should improve here. Numbers: 8 – 7 – 6 – 4 Suggested Bet – WARBLER WIN Race 3 LEAGUE OF NATIONS went well first-up no trial down the 1000m straight at Pinjarra. Should lead this field early and if he elects to hand up to either Pure Dynamite or Saxon Princess will get the cutaway run when it presents. PURE DYNAMITE broke his maiden well at his return to the races. Can win again. PINK ‘N’ GRAY will get back but finishes hard. SMART FOX broke through last start when the shades went on. Does it tough from the gate. Numbers: 6 – 12 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet – LEAGUE OF NATIONS EACHWAY Race 4 BORN TO TRY and BELLE OF LIBERTY are two 3 year old fillies coming from impressive last start maiden victories. Both look like winning their fair share of races. Siding with BORN TO TRY who should settle midfield with cover from the draw and stretched out very nicely late at Northam. BELLE OF LIBERTY can lead them up and takes running down. NICKEL QUEEN has been costly to punters in a short career and steps to 1400m for the first time. SPEEDY MISS will be winning a few this prep and went well fresh. Numbers: 9 – 8 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – BORN TO TRY WIN Race 5 WHAT ABOUT MOSES trialed really well before looking the winner everywhere bar the post when nailed first-up by Lookout. Zephyr Queen has won a Saturday since from that form reference and the effort last start when deep throughout was good. TYCOON MIKADO can lead from the inside gate or wait for the cutaway run. Regardless gets every chance. EUROTRIP won well in maiden grade on a rain affected track. Reproduces that run and he’s extremely hard to beat. LOCOMOTIVE comes out running to take up a position over the speed. Numbers: 8 – 6 – 11 – 2 Suggested Bet – WHAT ABOUT MOSES EACHWAY Race 6 NEXT STOP THE MOON was attacked from the 800m marker in Saturday grade last time out when backed from $4.40 into $2.40. The effort to hold on and still run third was excellent and Blue Horse ran a race Saturday proving the form. Looks hard to run down. LICKETY SPLIT gets a 3kg weight swing on Next Stop the Moon for being beaten just over a length on 7 August. Logical danger. TONKATUFF is back in his right grade and no reason why he can’t make it two on the bounce. Drops a half kilo from last week’s win in the same grade. STAIRWAYTOTHEMOON can sprint well fresh. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – NEXT STOP THE MOON WIN Race 7 HEAVENLY AFFAIR keeps improving and there is no reason to suggest that the 61.5kg will stand in her way. Was backed with confidence last week and she absolutely bolted in. Sits in a similar position in running here and no reason why the result won’t be the same. PEARLS FROM HEAVEN gets back and runs on. DEMI GO ROUND is as honest as they come. She’ll run her ever-consistent race. BOMBARDMENT will pick one up soon as will Brad Parnham. Numbers: 1 – 10 – 9 – 1 Suggested Bet – HEAVENLY AFFAIR WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 8,9 6,8,11 1,2,3 1 Market Market
