Sully’s NRL Grand Final Preview Posted on September 29, 2017 | Posted by James Sullivan In Biblical terms Sunday’s NRL Grand Final between the Melbourne Storm and North Queensland Cowboys is a case of David versus Goliath. A club who most believed were destined to win the 2017 Premiership up against a club who had their eyes on Mad Monday up until the last game of the regular season which went their way – and then still no one believed as they upset the Sharks, Eels and Roosters in three consecutive weeks. The Storm have won 22 of their 26 matches in 2017 and they will say goodbye to one of their big three stars, who together have played an amazing 977 games for their Club heading into Sunday. The Cowboys still have 13 of their 2015 Premiership team playing this Sunday and they have become the masters of percentage football. They have starved their opposition of the football throughout this Finals campaign. The Storm haven’t left Melbourne all Finals series and remarkably haven’t been back to ANZ Stadium since last year’s Grand Final defeat. The Cowboys are the first team to make the Grand Final from 8th since the Eels in 2009. They have been on the road for a month and on the back of Morgan & Taumalolo they have enjoyed every bit of their ride. No Premiership success since 2012 for the Melbourne Storm will be eating away inside their proud Club and I am tipping it will drive them to victory come Sunday evening.
