Trent’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on April 21, 2017 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1: CLIPSAL BY SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC WESTBRED MS PACE BOB WHEEL (4) has won three of his last five starts, including a strong win in the 3YO Colts & Geldings WA Classic after facing the breeze. He finished down the track after working hard last start but can bounce back here. ABRAXAS BLUES (5) has two wins and two 2nds from his four starts this campaign and looks a player again. BROTHA OFA GANGSTA (1) worked hard when a strong 2nd to ABRAXAS BLUES (5) and can turn the tables from the pole. MILITARY MASTER (8) is drawn wide but is probably the class runner of the field. Tips: 4 5 1 8 Suggested Bet: BROTHA OFA GANGSTA (1) each way. Race 2: SCHNEIDER ECOXPERT THE JOHNSON FILLIES AND MARES QUALIFYING HEAT 3 MS PACE MON LILLIES (1) has been placed at her last two behind Rabchenko and Just Bet On Black. She is a fast beginner and will lead and give backers a great sight back to her own sex. MADAME CROUPIER (3) resumed from a year long layoff with a strong win at Pinjarra and was then a solid 6th here on Tuesday and looks the main danger. SHES ARTFUL (7) is the other class mare in this field but will be giving her rivals a start. BETTOR BLING (2) looks a good place chance from the draw. Tips: 1 2 4 6 Suggested Bet: MON LILLIES (1) to win. Race 3: CLIPSAL MS PACE EYRE CRUSHER (9) won his first two starts back from a long break in emphatic fashion before facing the breeze and knocking up to finish 8th to Condrieu in quick time last week. He drops back in class and is the one to beat despite the wide draw. BUNGALOW BILL (8) is racing well and must be respected but always seems to find one better this class. JAMES GALLEON (1) doesn’t have the class of his main rivals but has the pole and will run a race. SUPERIMPOSED (6) worked to the lead and knocked up late last start but can improve. Tips: 9 8 1 6 Suggested Bet: EYRE CRUSHER (9) to win. Race 4: SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC 3YO MS PACE RUNRUNJIMMYDUNN (6) was an impressive winner at his first start in WA before facing the breeze and knocking up late when 8th in the WA Derby. This looks a bit easier and he is the one to beat. THE PUBLISHER (3) has trialled nicely before his WA debut and is the best drawn of the main chances. EL BARCELONA (8) was held up at a crucial stage when 5th in the WA Derby and can make his presence felt despite the draw. TISADREAM (12) ran home well to finish 3rd in that race and can be in the money again. Tips: 6 3 8 12 Suggested Bet: RUNRUNJIMMYDUNN (6) to win. Race 5: HAPPY BIRTHDAY TANYA SMEETH WA OAKS PRELUDE MACZAFFAIR (1) has proven to be the state’s best filly and has performed well against the boys recently. She is drawn perfectly here and is clearly the one to beat. RED HOT ROXY (12) and IM STYLISH (8) have met at their last two starts with the latter prevailing on both occasions but the former is drawn slightly better tonight. SOHO ANGEL (10) is struggling to break through in WA but looks a good place chance again. Tips: 1 12 8 10 Suggested Bet: MACZAFFAIR (1) to win. Race 6: MEMORIAL DAY STAKES MS PACE AMERICAN BOY (9) was a very strong 1.53.9 winner two starts back before finishing 2nd to Ohoka Punter last start. This looks an easier assignment but he does have a wide draw to overcome. PHOENIX WARRIOR (7) and HEEZ ON FIRE (5) are both resuming from Inters campaigns and neither have trialled publicly. They are both capable of winning if near their top. ERSKINE RANGE (2) hasn’t been placed for almost a year but is a very capable frontrunner and looks likely to take up that role here. Tips: 9 7 5 2 Suggested Bet: AMERICAN BOY (9) to win. Race 7: CLIPSAL BY SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC 2YO FILLIES WA SALES CLASSIC FINAL LADY DE LA RENTA (2) made a mistake on debut but showed her true ability when settling worse than midfield and rounding up TENNIELE ERIN (3) to impressively win her heat. She has drawn inside her main rival and is the one to beat. TENNIELE ERIN (3) had to work quite hard early in her heat and can turn the tables if she finds the front comfortably. PRINCESS MAJOR (10) finished 3rd behind the favoured pair in her heat and can be in the placings again. COOL SASSIE (8) won her heat well but will find it harder from out here. Tips: 2 3 10 8 Suggested Bet: LADY DE LA RENTA (2) to win. Race 8: CLIPSAL BY SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC 2YO COLTS AND GELDINGS WA SALES CLASSIC FINAL PLAY THE BOYS (2) impressed at his debut when he started from an outside gate and faced the breeze to record a 1.56.2 win in his heat. He is much better drawn tonight and is clearly the one to beat. KOHLI (1) has finished 2nd in his two race starts and looks a good each way chance from the pole. ROCK ME OVER (6) beat KOHLI (6) comfortably in his heat but has an awkward draw to overcome. VILLAGE BENNY (5) faced the breeze to win his heat and shouldn’t be far away. Tips: 2 1 6 5 Suggested Bet: PLAY THE BOYS (2) to win. Race 9: CLIPSAL ICONIC HANDICAP SS PACE GALACTIC STAR (9) is building an impressive record and was far from disgraced when hammered in front and holding on to finish 2nd to ASSASSINATOR (8) last week. He should enjoy an easier trip tonight and is the one to beat. NEW WORLD ORDER (7) finally put it all together to beat Bungalow Bill last start and can go on with it now. ASSASSINATOR (8) won the Marathon and must be considered again. TOMMY BE GOOD (12) was an impressive winner over NEW WORLD ORDER (7) and is the other winning hope. Tips: 9 7 8 12 Suggested Bet: GALACTIC STAR (9) to win. Race 10: CLIPSAL SPARK YOUR IMAGINATION MS PACE OVERBOARD AGAIN (7) was ultra-impressive in the early part of his last campaign before going off before a spell. He resumes here without a trial but is drawn inside his main rival and will give a great sight if near his best. SHANDALE (9) recorded a strong 1.54.7 winner at his WA debut and is capable of overcoming a horror draw. THE STORM CHIEF (2) and RABCHENKO (3) don’t have the class of the favoured pair but have the draws to be competitive. Tips: 7 9 2 3 Suggested Bet: OVERBOARD AGAIN (7) to win. Bet Now!
