Warren Huntly’s Wednesday Sandown Preview Posted on August 15, 2023August 15, 2023 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 DODGY ONE is having a terrific first preparation for the Bedggood stable and doesn’t look badly treated after the claim. ANGEL has trialled well since his first up run and suited by the rise in distance. ROCKEBY ROAD has returned in good form and has been given a good grounding for the step up to 2100m. RESERVOIR DOG made an early move in the same race as Dodgy One last time and battled on bravely. AFFORDABLE looks the other main chance. Selections: 1,3,5,4 Suggested Bet: Dodgy One to win Race 2 MAGIC brings some strong form lines through his previous campaigns and ran well first up at 1200m. From barrier one he should camp on the speed and 1400m looks suitable for him now. MASONRY gets blinkers on, he didn’t have the best of luck at this trip last start and hit the line strongly when finally clear. SPELLMASTER won’t be a maiden for long, he’ll make his own luck and could prove hard to get past. PICKAXE is another that shouldn’t take long to break his maiden. Selections: 4,9,10,5 Suggested Bet: Magic to win Race 3 COINCIDE led and ran good time to break his over 1100m maiden last start. He should cope with 1200m and prove hard to run down again. CATAHOULA and PANTELONE come through the same race and both have strong claims. If you are able to run on the Catahoula’s chances are further enhanced. ORION THE HUNTER was noted as making a respiratory noise last time and a tongue tie goes on. Selections: 1,7,5,4 Suggested Bet: Coincide to win Race 4 DIAMOND MODEL did some work to find the front last start and should secure a forward spot here in easier fashion from the inside draw. DUNALLEY seems better suited around this trip and drops in grade on her latest run. CRITICAL did enough first up over 1200m and will relish the step up in distance. KOROBEINIKI is having a terrific preparation and chased a smart one last time. AMEERATI has claims. Selections: 1,3,6,7 Suggested Bet: Playing multiples around 1,3,6 & 7 Race 5 FLORIDA DREAM ran ok in a stronger race last time and doesn’t look badly weighted after the claim. FALCON OF MALTA should roll forward from the wide draw and give a sight. ELSIE MAY ran as well as she could on a leader biased track last start. DIVINE DIOSA doesn’t want it too firm but backs up from her solid second up run last week and may be able to hold a more forward spot from a favourable draw. SIRIUS BLACK and SIR ROCKFORD are in the mix in a deep race. Selections: 2,10,4,9 Suggested Bet: Florida Dream each way Race 6 THE CREATOR didn’t look comfortable being restrained at his first Australian run and I’d expect him to be allowed to stride more freely here, as he was in NZ at his first two starts. TERRASTAR ran well first up in Sydney in a decent race, she should get a great run behind a solid speed. LOVIN’ LAUGHS is a winner here and wasn’t at his best down the straight at his latest run. BLAZERRO will need some luck from the draw but comes through some strong form lines and showed nice improvement second up. DAIQUIRI has trialled well to resume. Selections: 12,13,1,2 Suggested Bet: The Creator each way Race 7 Some promising types in what shapes as an enthralling contest. TYCOON JENNY gave a great sight in a strong race at her second start and will make her own luck again. ETERNAL FLAME will be giving them start but she wasn’t disgraced at G2 level last start and has jumped out well to resume. COTEL drops in grade and didn’t have the best of luck last time. MISS TAKE rises in grade but has upside and is open to further improvement from her last start victory. FLYING TEMPTRESS resumes following throat surgery and looked promising in her first campaign. Selections: 8,9,2,3 Suggested Bet: Tycoon Jenny each way Race 8 Another race with some promising gallopers that looks destined for better races. KINGWELL has trialled well since defeating Nokbah and that form looks strong. ZOUPURRING has jumped in great style to resume and the form around his first campaign is also strong. EXTRATWO has been freshened and wasn’t far away at stakes level last start, her previous performances were most encouraging. TARZI CALLING (atrial fib last start) and MAGNUM BULLET are among the other hopes. Selections: 10,4,13,3 Suggested Bet: Kingwell each way Market Market
