The Scout: Women’s World Cup Matchday 22

Semi Final (1)

Spain v Sweden

Spain needed extra time to overcome the Netherlands and make the final four for the first time. Teenager Salma Paralluelo netted the match winning goal having come off the bench, and she will push for a starting spot in the semi-final. Laia Codina is likely to miss the game through injury, but Aitana Bonmati should be fit to play after suffering a knock last time out.

Sweden caused a surprise for the second game running by dispatching Japan in the quarter-finals. Defender Amanda Ilestedt scored her fourth goal of the tournament and is expected to be part of an unchanged line-up for the third game running. Stina Blackstenius will lead the line again, supported by Fridolina Rolfo and Johanna Rytting Kaneryd.
