Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on August 14, 2025August 14, 2025 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 CEE DEE THREE (6) was slightly disappointing when leading when a close-up 4th in the Higgins before running on well to finish 3rd to Blaze Away here last week. This looks an easier assignment and he should fight out the finish. HI SUGA RUSH (7) resumes for a new stable and has plenty of ability so monitor the betting. CODENAME MARCUS (9) will settle at the rear but will become a wining chance if there is a solid tempo. LOUIE LEBEAU (5) should be approaching his peak at his fourth run back from a spell and can figure with the right run. Tips: 6 7 9 5 Suggested Bet: CEE DEE THREE (6) to win. Race 2 HEEZ GOOD AS GOLD (1) chased home Sweet Pins three starts back and has had backline draws at his two subsequent starts. He looks the leader here and should prove hard to catch over the sprint trip. GOODTIME LOUIS (10) will enjoy a nice run behind the leader and will be hard to hold out if he sees daylight at the right time but the gaps don’t come as often at this distance. GAITCRASHER (9) is first-up and drawn poorly but has plenty of ability and can’t be overlooked. ONESMARTFELLA (6) is flying but it doesn’t look like this race will be run to suit. Tips: 1 10 9 6 Suggested Bet: HEEZ GOOD AS GOLD (1) to win. Race 3 HALE SAINT LOUIE (1) was first-up and had to do too much work in the final lap when finishing midfield. He goes up in class but draws to lead tonight and should take some catching. INSTA GATOR (9) was a narrow but impressive winner from the breeze first-up and has the strength to apply pressure and still fight out the finish. DARK EYES (10) is ultra-consistent and looks a good place chance from his trailing draw. CALLMEWHATUWANT (3) has resumed in great fashion and can play a part at each way odds with the right trip. Tips: 1 9 10 3 Suggested Bet: HALE SAINT LOUIE (1) to win. Race 4 LITTLE DARLING (2) hasn’t had much luck recently and she would be $101 in this event if she was drawn poorly but she is chance to push through and find the front and is capable of upsetting her more seasoned rivals if that does happen. MIGHTY RONALDO (9) is in career best form and has added a level of toughness to his repertoire which will be needed to overcome the wide draw. GOLDEN LODE (8) is now proven in this company and he will be a winning chance if he can press forward and then sit close to the speed. HOTLY PURSUED (3) looks to have come back in good order and can make his presence felt tonight. Tips: 2 9 8 3 Suggested Bet: LITTLE DARLING (2) each way. Race 5 IDEAL BEACH (2) won his first two races starts and lost no admirers when facing the breeze and running 2nd to EL MYSTRO (10) in their heat. He has a huge barrier advantage tonight and gets his chance to turn the tables. EL MYSTRO (10) is the obvious danger but he is going to need some luck from his awkward barrier. CEASE TO REACT (3) couldn’t get into the race when finishing 6th in his heat but should settle close to the lead and won’t be far away. BETTOR BEHAVE (4) ran a solid 2nd in his heat and can be placed with the right run. Tips: 2 10 3 4 Suggested Bet: IDEAL BEACH (2) to win. Race 6 BETTOR FORTUNE (5) has impressed in winning both of his starts since coming to WA and looks the testing material. RUNKLE CRUNCH (9) hasn’t trialled but has crossed the Tasman with very good NZ form and creates plenty of interest first-up. BEATITLIKEBECCA (1) found BETTOR FORTUNE (5) too strong when they met two starts back but should be thereabouts from the pole. CAPTAIN STIRLING (8) is first-up but is a talented type who has the versatility needed to overcome the wide draw. Tips: 5 9 1 8 Suggested Bet: BETTOR FORTUNE (5) to win. Race 7 GEE HEZA SPORT (7) hasn’t been seen for over a month and he was beaten into 8th as a $1.75 priced favourite on that occasion. He will go up at a short quote again and should win if he produces his best but punters may be wary. BRICKIES DREAM (9) is a proven standing start conveyance and should be charging home. IM THE BLACK FLASH (8) loves the stands and he will be attempting to settle in front of the favourite and maintain that advantage throughout. BLUTO (5) and MAXIMUM ROCK (2) are the best performed of the 10m runners and both can give cheek if they find the front. Tips: 7 9 8 5 Suggested Bet: GEE HEZA SPORT (7) to win. Race 8 EKARA NAVAJO (3) hasn’t been seen for a month when she led and only knocked up late to finish 4th to Copy Cat Queen in a stronger field. If she is close to her best and can find the front comfortably then she can run a big race. DAME VALOUR )9) overcame a similar draw to win at her last start and should be in the finish again. REBLINE (12) ran 2nd in quick time at her last start and looks a good each way chance. AIR MARSHALL (1) doesn’t have the class of her rivals but could sneak into a place from the pole. Tips: 3 9 12 1 Suggested Bet: EKARA NAVAJO (3) to win. Race 9 I LIKE WHAT I SEE (10) has shown enough in her two starts in WA to suggest that she is the best mare in this field but she will need some luck to overcome her awkward draw. DIAMOND WORLD (8) has good gate speed and she will give them something to catch if she can find the front. JOLTED CHARM (1) has been placed in three of her past five starts and should be thereabouts from the pole. TA IN ADVANCE (6) drops in class and must be considered in a wide-open affair. Tips: 10 8 1 6 Suggested Bet: I LIKE WHAT I SEE (10) to win. Race 10 MACHS BETTOR (8) has been racing in stronger company and his class gives him a good each way chance in a tough race to assess, TROUBLE SUPREME (1) has been unplaced in his last eight starts but will be a big improver from the pole over the sprint trip. MASTER LEIGHTON (2) has finished just behind the placegetters at his last two starts and this looks a suitable assignment. LIL HAPPY FELLA (12) is another class dropper and he will be charging home if there is a solid tempo. Tips: 8 1 2 12 Suggested Bet: MACHS BETTOR (8) each way. Market Market
