Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on May 22, 2025May 22, 2025 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 EN PARIANT SUR (4) has performed solidly without winning in his two WA starts and looks the one to beat after drawing inside his main rivals. CORK CAN RUN (9) is drawn poorly and is first-up without a trial but he has more promise than the rest of the field and should be charging home if there is a solid tempo. MINOR CATASTROPHE (10) has been placed in three of her last four starts and should be in the finish if she can get off the pegs at the right time. ACUTO (8) drops significantly in class and has the gate speed to overcome the wide draw. Tips: 4 9 10 8 Suggested Bet: EN PARIANT SUR (4) to win. Race 2 MIKIS BEACH (8) hasn’t had much luck in his four starts this time in but has performed well without winning. He has another tough barrier to overcome here but this looks slightly easier and he should prove hard to beat. ALTA FREEWAY (2) ran a nice 3rd at Pinjarra on Monday and will give a great sight if he can find the front. DAWSON (11) should enjoy a nice run just behind the speed and his 2nd here last week was full of merit. BETTOR HAVE FAITH (10) was a good Pinjarra winner on Monday but will need some luck in running. Tips: 8 2 11 10 Suggested Bet: MIKIS BEACH (8) to win. Race 3 BETTORS PRIDE (6) showed his versatility when running on to win here last week but he is better when leading and will be hard to beat if he can take up the running tonight. His stablemate, LION QUEEN (7), was ultra-impressive in winning in 1.54.0 here last week and is an obvious danger. GOLDEN LODE (9) is very talented and will be a winning chance if there is a solid early tempo which looks likely. WHATARETHEODDS (4) is first-up without a trial but is very capable when driven softly and can figure in the finish. Tips: 6 7 9 4 Suggested Bet: BETTORS PRIDE (6) to win. Race 4 TALKS UP A STORM (6) has finished towards the rear in his four starts back from a spell but gets his chance to blast off the arm tonight and he will give great sight over the sprint trip if he finds the front. PRINCE OF PLEASURE (8) ran a nice 2nd from this barrier last week and will be charging home if there is a solid tempo. JAWSOFLINCOLN (9) is drawn poorly but ran a good 3rd at his last start and loves this distance. ALCOPONY (4) has been unplaced at his three starts this time in but will settle close to the speed and can be placed. Tips: 6 8 9 4 Suggested Bet: TALKS UP A STORM (6) to win. Race 5 CAPTAIN STIRLING (11) chased home Cyclone Jordy three times before running a game 2nd to Im Massimo. He is drawn to settle just behind his main rivals and will be hard to hold out. ELITE FLEET (2) won three on end before sitting outside BELLY UP (3) when 2nd to that 3YO at his last start. He has the advantage at the barrier over that rival tonight and can turn the tables. BELLY UP (3) has won four of his last six starts and must be respected again. SEASIDE MAGIC (1) is likely to take a sit on one of the favoured runners and looks a good place chance. Tips: 11 2 3 1 Suggested Bet: CAPTAIN STIRLING (11) to win. Race 6 STORMYSKYES (9) was a good winner at her first run back from as spell before being asked to do too much in a strong field when finishing a distant last here last week. She drops considerably in class tonight and can bounce back. SUGAR DEKLIGHT (8) has resumed from a break with a win and 2nd at Pinjarra and looks an obvious danger. HUNT THE MAGIC (12) hasn’t won in 13 starts this time in but she is racing consistently and can be in the money again. PUSHBUTTON ROCK (7) looked sharp in defeating a weaker field at her last start and can figure at good each way odds. Tips: 9 8 12 7 Suggested Bet: STORMYSKYES (9) to win. Race 7 GEE HEZA SPORT (8) was placed in both the Nullabor and Fremantle Cup before recording an impressive win in the Narrogin Cup and should be winning this event. HOPPYS WAY (6) disappointed last start but will be a good place chance if he can use his good gate speed to cross at the start. LIL HAPPY FELLA (1) is drawn to enjoy a soft run on the pegs and can be placed at good odds. MONTANA DJ (4) is at the top of his game and can be in the finish with some luck in running. Tips: 8 6 1 4 Suggested Bet: GEE HEZA SPORT (8) to win. Race 8 DELULU (8) was scratched at the barrier before the Diamond Classic Final last week but it appears that there are no ongoing concerns and she looks the one to beat in this line-up. POPPYONTHEBEACH (9) started from a wide draw when a solid 5th in that event and looks to be a filly with a good future. SPIRITED WHITBY (6) ran 2nd after crossing from this barrier at her last start and should be in the finish if she can find the front again. WICKED LOVER (7) is racing consistently and shouldn’t be far away. Tips: 8 9 6 7 Suggested Bet: DELULU (8) to win. Race 9 CHASE ME (1) crosses the Tasman with an impressive record and should be winning this event. BLAMEITONTHENIGHT (2) has been disappointing but improved last start and looks a great place chance from this barrier. CABERNEIGH (7) has won three of his last four starts but will find it harder from out here. OUR WATCHLIST (8) couldn’t get into the race last week but has ability and can figure. Tips: 1 2 7 8 Suggested Bet: CHASE ME (1) to win. Race 10 MAJESTIC GA GA (3) defeated most of these in a mobile event and now receives a huge handicap advantage so looks extremely hard to beat but she can do things wrong so must be taken on trust. CHUMANI (9) has to give the favourite a 60m head start after being beaten 16m at their last meeting but he is racing consistently. BETTY BOOTZ OFF (1) has finished 2nd at both starts this time in and can give some cheek as the only frontmarker. PATCHED (9) looked flat last week but he had won his previous three starts and can’t be overlooked. Tips: 3 9 1 10 Suggested Bet: MAJESTIC GA GA (3) to win. Market Market
