Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on July 4, 2024July 4, 2024 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 ELWADDELL (7) worked hard when a close-up 4th in solid time here last week and a repeat of that performance will make him hard to beat here. BEYOND BLING (6) was a strong winner here on Tuesday and should fight out the finish again. STAR OF WILLOUGHBY (4) didn’t have any luck at his last start and is capable of winning this event at good each way odds with the right run. GEE SMITH (8) ran on from the rear when 2nd here last week and is rarely far away. Tips: 7 6 5 8 Suggested Bet: ELWADDELL (7) to win. Race 2 BENJI (5) caught the eye second-up when he charged home from the rear to finish a close 2nd to Youre So Fine. He has the barrier advantage over his main rival tonight and appeals as the one to beat. RUBINS PLIGHT (6) was placed behind the likes of Minstrel and Lavra Joe last time in and a 3rd in good time in a recent trial indicates hie is in for a good campaign. NAVY STRETT (3) can figure at good odds if he can cross at the start and sit on one of the fancied runners. MY ULTIMATE BAXTER (8) is flying but the draw makes this a tough assignment. Tips: 5 6 3 8 Suggested Bet: BENJI (5) to win. Race 3 THREE RUMOURS (12) started from a similar draw when she worked to the breeze and was game 2nd in the Kerry Clarke. This looks a slightly easier assignment and she should prove hard to beat. SOVRANA (7) settled midfield when a close-up 4th in that event and may use her good gate peed to advantage tonight. STORMYSKYES (3) has been battling wide draws or standing start conditions recently and can be an improver at big odds here. BEYOND THE SEA (8) was a close-up 3rd in the Kerry Clarke and can figure again if she has some luck in transit from her wide draw. Tips: 12 7 3 8 Suggested Bet: THREE RUMOURS (12) to win. Race 4 MIGHTY CONQUEROR (8) is the class runner of the field who is first-up after a year away from the racetrack. He wasn’t knocked around in a recent trial and should give a great sight even though he won’t be at his top. JETT STAR (7) has the advantage of race fitness over his stablemate and has won three out of his last five starts. HAMPTON BANNER (2) wasn’t beaten that far in quick time at his last start and can lead and give plenty of cheek here. STREET HAWK (6) is racing well in stands and must be considered despite the rise in class. Tips: 8 7 2 6 Suggested Bet: MIGHTY CONQUEROR (8) to win. Race 5 PAUL EDWARD (2) has resumed with an impressive win and a solid 4th and appeals as the one to beat from his nice draw. LOUCID DREAMS (1) doesn’t have the class of some of his rivals but he will be in the firing line throughout from the pole and should be in the finish. ALL IS WELL (12) probably has the best form in the event but has a back line draw to overcome. MAGNUS VICTOR (8) is racing extremely well this time in and his gate speed gives him options at the start. Tips: 2 1 12 8 Suggested Bet: PAUL EDWARD (2) to win. Race 6 RASCAL (2) has suffered a flat tyre in two out of his last three starts and is due for a change of luck. The jury is out on how well he is racing but he gets one more chance from his nice draw tonight. MEDIEVAL MAN (1) has battled wide barriers at his first two runs back from a spell and should be a sharp improver from the pole. HOLY HECKA (9) is the class runner of the field but will need a solid tempo to bring him into contention. LAMANDIER (6) is a good frontrunner who will give a sight if he can manage to find the top. Tips: 2 1 9 6 Suggested Bet: RASCAL (2) to win. Race 7 CONEY ISLAND (2) found the front when a solid first-up winner in this state and is clearly the one to beat after drawing inside his main rivals tonight. SORRIDERE (3) is racing extremely well on country tracks and looks the obvious danger. MONTANA DJ (9) has been a costly proposition for punters since crossing the Tasman and was beaten as a $1.55 favourite in a stronger field here last week and must be taken on trust. YA BETTOR FOLLOWME (1) rises considerably in class but can be placed at odds from the pole. Tips: 2 3 9 1 Suggested Bet: CONEY ISLAND (2) to win. Race 8 ROCKIN LE MONDE (1) was a good 1.55.9 winner two starts back and appeals as the one to beat from the pole draw. ARIONROCK (2) disappointed at his last start but must be considered on his previous form. INFINITE MERIT (7) raced erratically at his last start but has trialled nicely since and must be considered. WORLDS ABOVE (3) is drawn to get a nice run just behind the speed and shouldn’t be far away. Tips: 1 2 7 3 Suggested Bet: ROCKIN LE MONDE (1) to win. Race 9 RELATIVELY ARMA (3) had been racing against the state’s best fillies before overcoming a back line draw to finish 3rd to I CROSS MY HEART (5) at her last start and should give a great sight here. I CROSS MYHEART (5) impressed when winning in 1.54.8 in that Northam event and must be considered again. DEKLA DIVA (1) led throughout here two starts back and should be thereabouts from the pole. MANEA (2) wasn’t far away in the Northam event before running a nice 2nd at Kellerberin and looks the other winning chance from her nice draw. Tips: 3 1 5 2 Suggested Bet: RELATIVELY ARMA (3) to win. Race 10 OUR MAESTOSO (6) has won 13 of his 17 career starts and is clearly the one to beat. He did things wrong when 2nd to KUVAFLAIR (8) at his last start but should be too good tonight if he trots throughout. THAT’S NOT MY GAIT (10) has been placed in nine of his past 12 starts and should be in the finish again here. ALDEBARAN SUNDOWN (5) hasn’t been at his best at his last few starts but is more than capable on his night. LUVAFLAIR (8) ran on well to defeat the favourite at her last start and is always a chance if she gets the right cart into the race. Tips: 6 10 5 8 Suggested Bet: OUR MAESTOSO (6) to win. Race 11 RUBY LOVERA (2) impressed on debut when she chased hard and finished 2nd to ISEEUBABY (6). She gets the barrier advantage over that filly tonight and can turn the tables. ISEEUBABY (6) has won two of her three race starts and defeated a stronger field here a fortnight ago but has to overcome the wide draw tonight. JAXS IDEAL (3) has finished 2nd at her two runs this time in and should be right in the finish again. RUBY LOU (5) disappointed here two starts back but ran a close 2nd at Northam and could be getting back to her best. Tips: 2 6 3 1 Suggested Bet: RUBY LOVERA (2) to win. Market Market
