Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on November 4, 2021November 4, 2021 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 YOURE SO FINE (4) created a big impression in his three NZ runs and was sent out as favourite in the Golden Slipper on the back of that form. He ran a very solid 3rd in that event before going for a break and is clearly the one to beat at his resumption. ILLEGAL ACT (5) was a dominant 1.57.7 winner at his second race start and looks the main danger to his stablemate. PAUL EDWARD (8) is racing well but the wide draw makes it tough. THE GOOD STAR (1) doesn’t have the class of his main rivals but can be placed from the pole. Tips: 4 5 8 1 Suggested Bet: YOURE SO FINE (4) to win. Race 2 DIEGO (3) was fancied but did too much work in the run when finishing near the rear at his first run back from a spell. He has since trialled nicely at Byford and appeals as the one to beat against this line-up. THEREUGO (1) was a solid 3rd here last week and will lead early and then has options so should be right in the finish. TELLMETOATTACK (5) was a good all-the-way winner at his last start before a spell and must be respected. ROCK ME OVER (2) has been unplaced at his last five starts but looks an improver from his nice draw. Tips: 3 1 5 2 Suggested Bet: DIEGO (3) to win. Race 3 AS HAPPY AS LARRY (1) has been out of the winners’ circle for 18 months but looks the early leader here and should give a great sight on an each-way basis. THAT’S PERFECT (4) has disappointed at his last three starts but drops in class and can improve sharply. ALTA ENGEN (5) couldn’t make up any ground in a sprint home last week but can play a part tonight. GOLDEN STATE (2) has trialled nicely for his return and should be in the firing line throughout. Tips: 1 4 5 2 Suggested Bet: AS HAPPY AS LARRY (1) each way. Race 4 MIGHTY CONQUEROR (6) raced extremely well last campaign, winning two of his five starts and pushing Shockwave in two others. He is drawn poorly but is still the one to beat if he is close to his best. GALACTIC STAR (1) is working back into form and will have a significant say in the way the race is run after drawing the pole. PERFECT MAJOR (3) was below his best last week but must be considered on his previous form. BLETCHLEY PARK (7) is drawn poorly but is capable of figuring in the finish with the right trip. Tips: 6 1 3 7 Suggested Bet: MIGHTY CONQUEROR (6) to win. Race 5 MAJOR MARTINI (2) finished his last campaign with a win in the Western Gateway and a game 2nd in the WA Derby. His trial form indicates he is set for another successful campaign and he is clearly the one to beat. EUPHORIA (1) was a strong winner in weaker company here last week and the rise in class is offset by the pole draw. BETTORSTARTDREAMING (6) is one-dimensional but will give a great sight if he can find the front. OTIS (3) has won three of his six starts this time in and won’t be far away. Tips: 2 1 6 3 Suggested Bet: EUPHORIA (1) each way. Race 6 AL GUERRERO (3) resumed with a solid 4th here last week and could find the front from this barrier. MIRRAGON (4) was an eye-catching 3rd in stronger company at his first run back from a break and looks the main danger. EUSTON FLYER (2) goes up considerably in class on his two recent wins but is drawn inside his main rivals and must be considered. Not a lot separated SANGUE REALE (8) and Shockwave in their 4YO campaign and he would be hard to beat in that form but he was very disappointing last time in. Tips: 3 4 2 8 Suggested Bet: AL GUERRERO (3) to win. Race 7 ALTA CINDERELLA (4) led throughout here last week in 1.56.0 to bring up her 9th win from 15 starts and looks likely to find the front and be the one to beat again. SAVVY BROMAC (7) ran on powerfully to win at her last start and is the obvious danger. MANDY JOAN (8) will need some luck from this draw but will be hitting the line hard if she gets the right cart into the race. DELIGHTFULL (6) did defeat SAVVY BROMAC (7) at her last start and must be considered. Tips: 4 7 8 6 Suggested Bet: ALTA CINDERELLA (4) to win. Race 8 GLENLEDI CHIEF (6) was a fair first-up 4th but has really impressed at his last two starts when winning stands in good time at Pinjarra. He has the advantage of race fitness over his main rival and looks the one to beat. WILDWEST (8) has any amount of ability but even more problems and has to be taken on trust at his first run for six months. JUST WING IT (7) finished less than 2m behind GLENLEDI CHIEF (6) at his last start and looks the other winning chance. GEE SMITH (4) led when 5th in that event and is a place chance. Tips: 6 8 7 4 Suggested Bet: GLENLEDI CHIEF (6) to win. Race 9 FINVARRA (8) has won five of his eight career starts and has the speed and strength to overcome the outside barrier. MACHNIFICENT (5) is one-dimensional but has a sharp turn of foot and will be charging home if there is a solid early tempo. KNOW WHEN TO RUN (4) is ready to show his best after two runs back from an extended absence and is drawn to make his presence felt. THE IDEAL TOUCH (2) goes up in class on his last start victory but is drawn inside his main rivals. Tips: 8 5 4 2 Suggested Bet: MACHNIFICENT (5) each way. Race 10 DOMINATE THE DOJO (3) took his losing sequence to 49 when he was fancied but couldn’t find the front at his last start. He looks a good chance to find the top here and will give them something to chase. PIERRE WHITBY (7) drops considerably in class for this assignment and should be charging home late. BURNING RUBBER (2) has been battling awkward draws and better fields and looks suited here. BAYLAN JETT (4) is first-up after a short break and raced against stronger company last time in. Tips: 3 7 2 4 Suggested Bet: PIERRE WHITBY (7) each way. Market Market
