Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on August 6, 2020August 6, 2020 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 ALTA BLUES (4) is starting to add a bit more tractability to his undoubted potential and has been ultra-impressive in winning his last two starts. He is suited by the small field and is clearly the one to beat. BE MY ROCK (1) was a strong winner before running a nice 3rd in 1.54.9 on Monday and looks the main danger from the pole. POWER AND GRACE (2) ran on well to finish a 9m 2nd to the favourite at his last start and should be thereabouts again. CAVEMAN (5) has won all three starts back from a spell but rises in class tonight. Tips: 4 1 2 5 Suggested Bet: ALTA BLUES (4) to win. Race 2 SANGUE REALE (2) won the 4YO Classic and was placed in the Golden Nugget before going for a break. He was obviously underdone when a disappointing 8th at his first run back from a spell but has had a fortnight since that effort and is clearly the one to beat from this draw. MY CARBON COPY (5) has won nine of his 22 career starts and is the obvious danger at his first run this campaign. BAYLAN JETT (3) is racing consistently and shouldn’t be far away from this draw. DESTINED TO RULE (10) looks to be a place chance. Tips: 2 5 3 10 Suggested Bet: SANGUE REALE (2) to win. Race 3 QUEEN SHENANDOAH (1) has been unplaced in her past five starts but she gets her chance tonight. She was forced to run a quick lead time when 4th here after leading two starts back but should get things easier tonight. OUR RHYTHM N BLUES (11) was rewarded for his consistency with a strong win here last week and looks a major player. ULTIMATE OFFER (9) has the best form in the event but has a tough draw to overcome. MISTER BUSHIDO (12) is racing well and can follow his stablemate and be in the finish. Tips: 1 11 9 12 Suggested Bet: QUEEN SHENANDOAH (1) to win. Race 4 UNDERCOVER MAC (5) has impressed in winning his first two starts in WA in slick time. This is his biggest test but he looks likely to work his way through the grades quickly. AMERICAN DELIGHT (1) led throughout at her third run back from a spell and should give a big sight from the pole. CAPTAIN KIRK (10) has produced solid efforts at his two runs back from a break and is drawn to get a soft run in transit. ROBBIE EASTON (9) has been a beaten fancy at his past five starts but can’t be totally overlooked despite the wide draw. Tips: 5 1 10 9 Suggested Bet: CAPTAIN KIRK (10) each way. Race 5 PATRONUS STAR (1) was a fast-finishing winner of the WA Derby at his last start before a spell and has resumed with two dominant all-the-way victories. He should lead from the pole here and will be extremely hard to catch. RAKASINC (2) is racing well including a 27m win at his last start and should be in the finish from this draw. BOOM TIME (7) finally had some luck when an impressive winner here last week but is drawn poorly tonight. MINIMUM WAGE (10) will be trailing the favourite and looks a good place chance. Tips: 1 2 7 10 Suggested Bet: PATRONUS STAR (1) to win. Race 6 FORGOTTEN HIGHWAY (12) is starting to fulfil his early promise, winning his last three on end. He flew away to find the top when a comfortable winner here last start but is versatile and can come from behind if needed. DONEGAL ART CHOKIN (6) is drawn wide but is the best of the frontmarkers and will give them something to catch if she finds the top. BETTOR PARTY (13) has been racing in stronger company and will appreciate the staying trip. HENWOOD BAY (11) is racing well and could be the value runner. Tips: 12 6 13 11 Suggested Bet: FORGOTTEN HIGHWAY (12) to win. Race 7 STARLIGHT BRIGADE (1) was a good winner here two starts back before running a nice 3rd to the talented Patronus Star. She looks the likely leader here and should prove hard to beat. JUST MAKEMINE DIAMONDS (7) is first up tonight but warmed up for this assignment with a nice trial win over Golden State and must be considered. MY PRAYER (10) is drawn to get a lovely run on the pegs and should be in the finish. BLISSFULABBEY (8) is in top form but will need a bit of luck from out here. Tibbbps: 1 7 10 8 Suggested Bet: STARLIGHT BRIGADE (1) to win. Race 8 ROCK ME OVER (1) led and was a gallant 2nd to While They Pray in a slick 1.55.1 here last week. There won’t be as much pressure if he holds up at the start here and he should prove hard to beat. GOLDEN STATE (3) drops in class after taking on Chicago Bull at his last five starts and looks a major player with the right run. OUR ALFIE ROMEO (5) is one of the state’s best mares and should be considered first-up. TAROONA BROMAC (7) has won 12 of his 19 career starts but has a horror draw to overcome at his first run back from a spell. Tips: 1 3 5 7 Suggested Bet: ROCK ME OVER (1) to win. Race 9 MR SUNDON (7) missed away from the stand at his first run back from a spell but made up plenty of ground to finish 3rd. He then was a dominant 30m winner from the mobile at his last start and is clearly the one to beat. ROCK TONIGHT (8) has made blemishes at his last two starts but has since trialled well and looks the main danger to the favourite. LIFES DELIGHT (1) is racing well in easier company and can be placed from the pole. ONE BID BUYS (4) was placed behind MR SUNDON (7) at his last start and shouldn’t be far away again. Tips: 7 8 1 4 Suggested Bet: MR SUNDON (7) to win. Race 10 CHICAGO BULL (6) is back to his brilliant best, winning his last four on end including his last two in blistering time. He is drawn wide again but that hasn’t been an obstacle for him and he should be too good again. BLETCHLEY PARK (1) is an up and comer who warmed up for this with a great Bunbury trial and can play a part from the pole. CONVERT DENARIO (2) was a fantastic 3rd to CHICAGO BULL (6) at his first run back from a spell and can be placed. FAKE NEWS (3) will settle in front of a couple and won’t be far away. Tips: 6 1 2 3 Suggested Bet: CHICAGO BULL (6) to win. Market Market
