Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on April 16, 2020April 16, 2020 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 ELOQUENT MACH (8) was competitive against the state’s best 4YO’s last time in and will appreciate this easier assignment. He resumes without a trial but his class should help him overcome the wide draw. SALEAHS COMMAND (1) is better suited over the sprint trip but is a good frontrunner and will give them something to catch. KIWI BLOKE (3) will be fitter for his first up effort and can play a part from his nice draw. DOMINATE THE DOJO (5) may not be able to cross today but is racing well and shouldn’t be far away. Tips: 8 1 3 5 Suggested Bet: SALEAHS COMMAND (1) each way. Race 2 PRINCESS MILA (3) overcame a backline draw to run 2nd to WAR SPIRIT (7) at her WA debut before recording a 14m victory at Pinjarra. She is drawn inside her main rivals today and appeals as the one to beat. WAR SPIRIT (7) led throughout at his WA debut before doing things wrong last start and will be hard to catch if he finds the top. ROCK TONIGHT (9) has been placed at his past four starts and has the turn of foot to overcome the wide draw. LIGHTNING CALDER (8) must be considered on his strong win here two starts back. Tips: 3 7 9 8 Suggested Bet: PRINCESS MILA (3) to win. Race 3 SOHO THUNDERSTRUCK (2) led throughout two starts back before facing the breeze when a solid 2nd here last week. He is drawn inside his main rival today and should give a great sight. THE BIRD DANCE (6) led throughout in a stronger field here last week to bring up his 11th win from 15 career starts. He probably won’t find the top here but looks the obvious danger. SERGEANT OATS (3) has finished 2nd at his last three starts and should be thereabouts. ONE FOR SASSY (1) won’t know himself from a good draw and can improve. Tips: 2 6 3 1 Suggested Bet: SOHO THUNDERSTRUCK (2) to win. Race 4 LADY JADORE (6) has been impressive in winning all three starts and has the class to overcome her wide draw. ALWAYS AN ANGEL (4) was a comfortable winner at her second race start and has the barrier advantage over her main rivals. BENESARI LANE (5) broke through at her fourth race start and looks the other major player. SHAKIRA BLUE (1) hasn’t had much luck in her race starts and can improve from the pole. Tips: 6 4 5 1 Suggested Bet: LADY JADORE (6) to win. Race 5 MIRACLE MOOSE (11) flooded home to win three starts back and has ran on well to finish 2nd at his subsequent starts. He should enjoy a nice run in the moving line and will be charging home again. WHERE YA BIN (10) ran on well to finish 2nd in the Easter Cup and is drawn to get a nice run on the pegs here. WHOSWHOINTHEZOO (1) ran on well to finish 2nd at his last start and looks a major player from the pole. ROLL WITH ME (5) impressed with a 1.56.2 all-the-way win at his return but isn’t as well drawn here. Tips: 11 10 1 5 Suggested Bet: MIRACLE MOOSE (11) to win. Race 6 DOUBLE EXPRESSO (1) has won 11 of her 15 career starts and was far from disgraced when 7th in the WA Derby after starting from a wide draw. She looks the leader here and should be able to hold off her rivals. GARDYS LEGACY (2) is likely to trail the favourite and looks the main danger from that position. COPY N PACE (4) is racing consistently and shouldn’t be far away from this draw. VALENTINES BROOK (6) followed his 4th in the Western Gateway with a comfortable all-the-way win at Pinjarra but isn’t as well drawn here. Tips: 1 2 4 6 Suggested Bet: DOUBLE EXPRESSO (1) to win. Race 7 CHICAGO BULL (6) is a champion pacer resuming from an injury-enforced break. He was scratched two weeks ago which is of some concern but is suited by the small field and is clearly the one to beat. TALKTOMEURMATTJESTY (1) disappointed at his first run in four weeks but will be fitter for that effort and will be hard to catch if he performs up to his best. EL JACKO (5) will find this harder than his last start win but can cause an upset with the right trip. CHIAROSCURO (2) will trail the polemarker and looks a good place chance. Tips: 6 1 5 2 Suggested Bet: CHICAGO BULL (6) to win. Race 8 OUR JIMMY JOHNSTONE (9) is an 11YO and has only one win from his past 15 starts but is racing well and will appreciate the drop in class. He stormed home and just missed when 2nd to Shockwave in 1.53.4 here last week and can overcome the wide draw. GOLDEN STATE (5) had every chance and finished 3rd in the same race but will be fitter for that run. DREAMY NIGHTS (2) impressed in winning three on end here recently and should lead early and be thereabouts. ICEENOTHINK (7) will be suited if there is a solid tempo. Tips: 9 5 2 7 Suggested Bet: OUR JIMMY JOHNSTONE (9) to win. Race 9 KINGSLAYER (10) has won seven of his past ten starts and is the class runner of this field. He has an awkward draw to overcome but will be hard to hold out if he sees daylight at the right time. PRADAS IDEAL DAHLING (11) ran 2nd to American Brave in slick time at his last start before a spell and should be right in the finish if he is forward in condition. IDEAL INVESTMENT (1) led throughout here late last year and could be a big improver from the pole. COURAGE TELLS (3) drops in class for this and can play a part. Tips: 10 11 1 3 Suggested Bet: KINGSLAYER (10) to win. Race 10 BALCATHERINE (10) has only had six career starts but has shown plenty of ability so far. She was blocked for a run at her first start back from a spell and will need luck from this draw but is the class runner. TALKERUP (6) is racing extremely well and must be considered on her last start 3rd to the Bird Dance. PUREST SILK (2) was a 1.56.7 all-the-way winner at her last start and will give a sight if she finds the top. COUNTESS GRACE (4) will be running on if the race is run to suit. Tips: 10 6 2 4 Suggested Bet: BALCATHERINE (10) to win. Market Market
