The Stocks Round 10: Fremantle and West Coast

Freo’s ninth win in a row has equalled their club record of consecutive victories, meanwhile West Coast won their third game for the season in front of a hostile crowd to close out round 10. Here are the numbers that matter most for TABtouch punters heading into the next round for our WA teams.

Up

Harley Reid

The hype train keeps building. Reid delivered a career-best performance with 34 disposals, 2 goals, 10 clearances, 8 tackles and 136 ranking points in the win vs GWS, showing exactly why he’s the centrepiece of the Eagles’ future. Power, burst, and growing consistency all culminated in a dominant midfield showing. Expect him to thrive in game number 50 on Saturday against a monster Collingwood crowd.

Patrick Voss

Voss is making the MCG his playground. The forward has booted 11 goals across his last two games at the venue, kicking 6 at the end of last year against Collingwood, and 5 on the weekend against Essendon, even if the stakes weren’t as high this time around.

Murphy Reid

Another Reid on the rise. Murphy notched his first 30+ disposal game of his 34-game career to date, taking another big step at the home of footy.  Composure and work rate stood out as always, not to mention last year’s AFL Rising Star winner has now kicked 1+ goal in his past three games.

Down

Tom Cole

A tough trend to shake. Cole has now exceeded his most games with -10 disposal differentials since 2020, and his latest outing didn’t help, finishing with a team-low 37.5% efficiency. Experience is much needed in a young Eagles outfit, but decision-making and ball use remain key concerns for the out-of-contract defender.

Tom McCarthy

For the first time in his 20-game career, McCarthy recorded under 15 disposals, a noticeable drop-off from his usual output. The win clearly overshadows this but a quiet night by his standards.

Fremantle away vs Essendon

A pattern emerging that probably won’t shock Essendon fans too much. Their last three away games against Freo have all resulted in 40–50 point losses, a gap that highlights the difference in where the two teams have been when they’ve met during these encounters.
