The Scout: UFC 273 Preview Posted on April 8, 2022April 8, 2022 | Posted by The Scout Gilbert Burns vs Khamzat Chimaev One of the most anticipated fights on the UFC 273 card sees Gilbert Burns (20-4) take on Khamzat Chimaev (10-0) with the winner likely to be given a shot at Kamaru Usman and the welterweight belt. Chimaev has been on a violent rampage since making his UFC debut, running through the welterweight division with a ferocity we haven’t seen before. Impressively all of Chimaev’s 10 career wins have been finishes, utilizing his elite wrestling, explosive strength and power. While Chimaev’s run has been impressive, he is yet to face a fighter as accomplished and as skilled as Gilbert Burns. Burns’ jiu-jitsu is as good as anyone in the UFC, making him one of the most dangerous fighters on the ground. He’s well and truly a deserved number two contender in the division. There is a feeling of mystique and destiny when it comes to Khamzat Chimaev and needless to say, I have fully bought in. I think he gets the better of Burns in his trademark violent manner. Suggested Bet: Chimaev by KO/TKO or DQ @ $2.25* Alexander Volkanovski vs Chan Sung Jung The UFC featherweight champion, Alexander Volkanovski (23-1) returns to defend his belt against Chan Sung Jung (17-6), better known as “The Korean Zombie.” The Korean Zombie comes to UFC 273 having won three of his last four fights, with his only defeat a decision loss to Brian Ortega late in 2020. Despite a clear mismatch in records, The Korean Zombie is an extremely resilient fighter, who is tough to finish, hence the nickname. Volkanovski is the definition of “well-rounded” and has many considering him as the greatest featherweight of all-time. The Australian is a vicious striker, has excellent footwork, and will be moving in and out of range, delivering a flurry of punches and intelligent leg kicks to slow down the Zombie. It is no secret that Jung has been able to absorb a lot of damage over his career but it’s hard to find a strategy that he can employ to beat the champion. Volkanovski has Jung covered in every aspect and will apply his trademark pressure from the opening minute. Suggested Bet: Volkanovski to Win by Finish @ $2.70* Market Market
