The Scout: EPL Week 16 Posted on December 10, 2021December 10, 2021 | Posted by The Scout Arsenal vs Southampton Arsenal (7th) have had a tough run in the Premier League losing back-to-back matches against Everton and Manchester United. The Everton defeat was particularly brutal after an exceptional strike during the dying seconds of the match by Demari Gray shattered Arsenal’s hopes of leaving Goodison Park with the draw. It’s been even harder for Southampton (7th) who have gone four straight matches without finding victory. The Saints are only six points clear of the relegation zone and it will be essential to their topflight survival that they start winning matches. Mikel Arteta’s men worked hard to turn their season around after an abysmal start however following two defeats in a row they must get back on track. Defensively the Gunners have been extremely effective which has been a catalyst to their wins this season, totalling six clean sheets so far. Emirates Stadium has become quite a fortress for Arsenal who only tasted defeat once in front of their home crowd. The Gunners have kept back-to-back clean sheets in their last two home games and will be looking for a third against Southampton. The Saints lack world class goal scorers and I think they will struggle against a well organised Arsenal defense. Suggested Bet: Arsenal Win To Nil @ $2.88* Burnley vs West Ham Burnley sit 18th in the Premier League and have been unable to find victory in four matches while West Ham continue to impress and have secured 4th position. The Hammers come into this match off the back of their biggest win this season, a 3-2 victory over Chelsea. A win like this can-do incredible thing for a team like West Ham and could give them the belief and momentum they need to surprise everyone and finish in the top four. Across the board the West Ham side is extremely well balanced and what is now clear to everyone is that they have multiple ways of scoring goals and do not rely on the talent of Michael Antonio. David Moyes has created a style of play which puts midfielders Jarrod Bowen and Tomáš Souček into advanced positions and has resulted in goals in recent weeks. With four matches in a row without victory, Burnley are really struggling with their biggest problem being their inability to score goals. Burnley have not scored a goal in back to back matches and will struggle against West Ham who are flying. Suggested Bet: West Ham WIN @ $2.04* Brighton vs Tottenham Brighton (9th) have had a great campaign in the Premier League so far and are exceeding all expectations while Tottenham (5th) have won three straight matches in a row and are looking like a top four contender. Under new manager Antonio Conte, Spurs are finding their footing and are back on track. Tottenham have some impressive performances under the Italian with 2-0 and 3-0 wins over Brentford and Norwich City. Brighton’s form has been abysmal having not found a win in the Premier League in ten straight matches. The Seagulls are lucky their defense has held up which has seen them force plenty of draws however against a Spurs side with attacking talents of Harry Kane, Lucas Moura and Heung-min Son they may struggle. Tottenham will control the game and possession giving themselves plenty of goal scoring opportunities. This is the perfect chance for prolific striker Harry Kane to get back to scoring goals. Kane is goalless in 6 straight matches however against a Brighton side that will offer little resistance I think he will be a great chance to score. Suggested Bet: Harry Kane Anytime Goalscorer @ $2.50* *Odds correct as at 12pm, 10th December 2021. Market Market
