Shortte’s Weekend Handful Posted on July 29, 2016July 29, 2016 | Posted by David Shortte David Shortte’s Cannington Tips Race 1 – Number 2 TIMES SQUARE: Stunning performance here last week when she accounted for a quality lineup in the Westspeed Final in a best of night time of 29.89. Has relished inside draws in her career to date and looks ideally placed in this event. This is easier than the race she won last week and with a safe beginning she should go on with the job. Race 3 – No.3 MONARO MONELLI Race 4 – No.1 FUN BOSS Race 6 – Number 2 SHELL SHOCKED: Consistent type whose career record of 18 starts for 9 wins and 5 placings speaks for itself. Won two in row here recently over the 520 metres in 30.08 and 30.38 and a repeat of either of those efforts would see him very tough to topple. Enjoys an inside draw and with a safe getaway looks too nippy for these. Race 8 – Number 1 RAMIFICATIONS: Emerging stayer who overcame difficulties in the run to salute last week over the 647 metres at Mandurah. Steps up to the 715 metres for the first time in this but has been dominant in recent runs over the 600 metres and his run home times would suggest the extra distance will pose no issue. Drawn to perfection and looks likely to dominate this race.
