Scott Embry’s Wednesday Ascot Preview Posted on March 12, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 UNI TIME charged through the line at starts number one and two and then broke through for a well deserved maiden win after giving backers a bit of a scare early in the straight. Can continue on Sharon Miller’s excellent recent form. BLACKFURY could not have been more impressive on debut. Absolutely launched late in the race and looks the danger. DIVINE SHADOW was no match in perfectly rated J.Brown special race last start. BOLSHOI GAL ran an “I’ll win next start” race on debut but with the rail at 15m she’s up against it. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 1 – 7 Suggested Bet – UNI TIME WIN Race 2 WITHOUT REASON has a big weight to lump but he will stay all day and as long as he can hold out the challenge of Lady Sass late then he looks perfectly placed to march on towards a tilt at the Derby. Massive type who will carry the weight. LADY SASS steps up sharply in trip but has a turn of foot which could see her winning some very good races if she can see out the distance. APPARITION is a clever use of weight relief to try and turn the tables on the big grey. MEXI COLA looks very one paced. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – WITHOUT REASON WIN Race 3 BRONZE WING finally gets out to the 2200 and he looks like he’ll need every inch of the trip. Strong winner in a fast run, strung out race two starts ago and then was caught in an awkward position when unable to get into the race. He looks the one to beat here. ZERO DEMERITS beat him home in the same race and looks likely to roll forwards and sit on top of a moderate tempo. UNENDING could be the leader in a race devoid of speed but if she goes back can still win. LAYLO an improver with the shades on. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 9 – 7 Suggested Bet – BRONZE WING WIN Race 4 DIVIDE THE SEA has been impressive at all trials and on debut from the gate can enjoy an economical run and peel out coming for home. Kept coming in a recent trial to run down Specialism. PURE DYNMAITE only comes off a 400m jump out but on debut ran into two quality juveniles. WILCHINO will be coming hard late if she can get out at the right time. WARFISH looks as though if they put a speed bump at Ascot that he would bottom out. Tiny little legs but has a motor. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 9 – 5 Suggested Bet – DIVIDE THE SEA WIN Race 5 DON’T FUSS ran favourite in a Graduation race, albeit with Pike aboard, and hit the front before being gunned down by an impressive Hoboken. Drops in grade, draws a gate and should be a nice ride for visiting apprentice Chris Graham. BEAUTIFUL MIND blew them to pieces on a day where the leaders were able to dominate care of the rail position. Interesting to see if they lead this because it’ll be harder. LOVE TRADE backs up off 3 days after scorching the grass at Bunbury. SHANIA STYLE ran some big races as a 3 year old. Bars on concerns. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 7 – 2 Suggested Bet – DON’T FUSS WIN Race 6 NO MEAN FEET beat both Family Discussion and Good Fortune in his maiden victory and then was attacked from the 1000m marker when stepping out of maiden grade. Big in defeat after a stack of money came for him and kept fresh he looks the one to beat. FAMILY DISCUSSION was the target of strong support last start in a race which looked impossible for him to win. Where there’s smoke there’s fire. GOOD FORTUNE has been jumping out of the ground all preparation. BURGOYNE stays at the 1200m and looks suitable for her. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 6 – 5 Suggested Bet – NO MEAN FEET WIN Race 7 SEND MY LOVE looks the ‘safest’ way to play an historically tough race to find the winner, the Apprentice Challenge heat. None of these horses are ‘push button’ with all having their fair share of difficulties. She has been building towards another win all preparation. GOLGOTHA looked home last start and only got nailed on the line by another Pike winner. Should get every chance from the gate. WEE RIPPER was a nice enough run last start coming out of maiden grade to be competitive. SAN CRISPINO can roll forwards, can wind up. Gives Bennett options. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 5 – 9 Suggested Bet – SEND MY LOVE WIN Race 8 WANTED DESIRE is hard to tip past after her booming win last start. Aided by the rail in the 14m position but it was a barnstorming victory running away. The rail is 15m Wednesday so expecting similar conditions and she can win again. EVERYMILE A MEMORY has been trialing very well for her return and usually fires fresh. UNIVERSAL MAE has been going better than numerical form suggests and the Money Man goes on. ADRIAN MAKFI won a very similar race with similar track conditions last start. Numbers: 10 – 9 – 6 – 4 Suggested Bet – WANTED DESIRE WIN Quad (Race 5 – 8) 1,5 1,2,5,6 FLD 1,4,6,9,10 Market Market
