Scott Embry’s Thursday Pinjarra Preview Posted on June 4, 2024June 4, 2024 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 CHOP SUEY has had one start down the 1000m straight at Pinjarra when narrowly defeated by Cessation who went on to win a C1 at her next outing to frank the form. All the five runs when last in work have merit including placing to Romming Danger and Canny Rock and finishing 1.5L off Simply Thinkin’ and Another Strike. Like the form, like the trial and like the fact he’s drawn towards the outside fence. HELLS CITI has straight 1000 form and the recent trial win at Lark Hill looked good. Nice race for him fresh. COONDLE wasn’t bad on debut in a 2 year old race. Keep safe. PATRINOIC STAR has shown a bit from time to time. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 10 – 3 Suggested Bet – CHOP SUEY WIN RACE 2 TROOPER PHOENIX won a 950m barrier trial by 5.5L leading into his return to racing when solid into third behind I’m Nipote and subsequent winner Almaya. Better suited second-up over 1400 and looks to have found a race where Alan Kennedy can take him to the top. Chris Willis’ horses are all in form at the same time (Fleur Delacour/Beau Talk won Sunday, Right To Silence narrowly beaten, Defiant Diorite placed at odds, Tallangatta flying). Looks the right set up. ABISSI ran home well at York on debut and now has a set of blinkers going on. Will command a lot of respect. MR TALENTINO has shown talent on occasion. Fresh run last prep was huge. VERNACULAR has something to offer. Numbers: 4 – 5 – 2 – 11 Suggested Bet – TROPPER PHOENIX WIN RACE 3 HISTORY WON’T CARE looked to have found a really winnable race last weekend but was scratched to save for this assignment (likely due to the availability of William Pike). Crunched in betting on debut to the exclusion of all other runners when narrowly defeated by Powerpop and then got to the line well in a race dominated on speed (Vergrey also a subsequent winner out of the race). Looks hard to beat here. PRIZED JEWEL chased hard at York first-up and looks better suited getting out in trip. EXTRAORDINARY GIRL is better than what she produced at York. THE HILL TRIBE has shown glimpses but struggled for consistency. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 7 – 1 Suggested Bet – HISTORY WON’T CARE WIN RACE 4 MILYEANNUP went close in back to back maidens over 1800m and 1600m before settling a mile off them at Belmont Park 8 days ago. Was only grinding to the line late but breaking down the sections of that race they’ve gone 11L faster than average to the 1000 and so everything was legless in the home straight. Was a bottomless Heavy8 and they’ve come home in almost 40 seconds L600. Settles closer here from a better draw and gets her chance. MISTRESS OF WAR has turned a corner and run well at her last two. THE MAN HIMSELF looks to cross them and roll. GLITZ IT could be on the 3 day back-up which would attract interest. Numbers: 9 – 10 – 11 – 5 Suggested Bet – MILYEANNUP WIN RACE 5 KING’S SALUTE was smashed in betting last start in a race that looked a bit sharp for him. That race contained Brave Spirit & Richanco (Raconteur bound) and Chollima (second last Saturday behind Dance Boss) and yet he was still backed from $8 into $3.90 before hitting the line into fourth. Back to a C1 and drawn to get every favour. Very suitable race for him. LOST GRAVITY is going really well. Jumped out of the ground late last Wednesday over 1000. SENSESSIONAL was costly to punters late in the campaign but showed plenty of ability. DOCTOR JAY resumes and showed in his initial preparation he’ll be winning races. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 7 – 1 Suggested Bet – KING’S SALUTE WIN RACE 6 EMERALD TRADER is drawn the second widest barrier but for a horse like him it’s fairly irrelevant – he’s slow away and gets back regardless of where he’s drawn. He’s got an enormous amount of raw talent but just no idea what he’s going and how to do it. Ability takes him a long way but will still need a big steer from Holly Watson. HIS EMINENCE was confidently backed last start and with another stride he probably lands the cash. Ready to win. TRULY RELIABLE finds this more suitable than the 66+ he was in last start. MARINSKY BALLET is going well for the new stable. Numbers: 1 – 9 – 13 – 5 Suggested Bet – EMERALD TRADER WIN RACE 7 TROPICAL SUN worked home well through heavy traffic in the Sky Provincial Final behind Sacred Oath, Henry The Aviator, Californication and Abloh. All four of those would be short priced and popular in a race of this nature and thinking from the draw she’ll be dangerous late with even luck. MISS AVA has been 1400 to 1800 to 1600 and now back to 1400m. She’s on speed and she’s ultra consistent. Ideal apprentice’s horse. IMPERIALIZE is going well but the barrier draw makes things tough. HEEZA BEAU can measure up at this level. Numbers: 10 – 1 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – TROPICAL SUN EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 3,5,9,10,11 2,3,7 1,5,9,14 1,3,5,10 Market Market
