Glenn Ingram’s Saturday Caulfield Preview Posted on August 6, 2026August 6, 2026 | Posted by Glenn Ingram Race 1 Open race, no firm opinion. DUSTEE dictated a slow speed at Seymour and couldn’t be caught, his run prior ties in with COMMIT who had had him covered but now gets a sticky inner draw for a horse that needs galloping room. STAKES was well-backed at Bendigo resuming and nosed out a sub winner in Royal Duck, measured up in a stronger race last start and looks a key chance here. VALLICE didn’t show enough at the jumpouts to warrant a bet but equally wasn’t tested, watch the betting. Selections: 9,5,7,3 Suggested Bet: Exotics Race 2 Good speed engaged, mostly drawn wide so should go quick early. CELTICS finds a winnable race with a soft draw tracking up in behind the speed, provided the inner lanes are no disadvantage he’s a strong winning chance. Same goes for BOTANICAL BOY back on it’s inside, like the way he hit the line fresh up, does like room so the inner draw is niggly. STAY SILENT was well-rated in front on his preferred footing last start, drying track is against. ZEBRA FINCH next best. Selections: 11,6,4,13 Suggested Bet: CELTICS win Race 3 Hard to go past CAVALRY GIRL coming off a dominant win in Adelaide where she gave nothing else a chance. That was the race she was set for. This race also sets up well with plenty of speed drawn around her, she doesn’t have to lead and may end up stalking with her light weight and winning again. What Shinn does on STOKKE from the low draw will be interesting. He may try kick up and land in behind BEAST MODE who looks the natural leader. BAZABALL REWARD can go forward or sit off, I suspect the former following BEST MODE across. Selections: 6,7,2,5 Suggested Bet: CAVALRY GIRL win Race 4 DAVIDA can cross and lead from a wide draw, her winning chance hinges on a smooth crossing. TRANGOOJAHRAY was legless at Moe, could be attributed to the heavy track but maybe that’s her, hard to catch. HI VAL was backed as though unbeatable at Sandown and never looked in doubt, finds a tougher assignment this time. Keen on JENNI MULTABELLA sitting midfield with a soft run. She’s now third-up after a long spell and must be close to peaking. Always shown above-average ability. STREET LARK maps ok with if positive early. Selections: 6,8,10,2 Suggested Bet: JENNI MULTABELLA win Race 5 Good speed engaged, which brings a horse like HIGH ON THE HILL into play coming back in trip and freshened after finding 1200m too tough against the open 3YO’s. Recent jumpout was encouraging. BEHAVIOUR is ready to win and drops in grade, he maps well to be in the finish, needs to stick his beak out. MAINMANKASH may have come back a stronger horse after his impressive first-up win. Lots of pressure either side of him. NORDIC STRIKE missed a run at Cranbourne and is fit and in-form. This may be too deep. Selections: 6,5,7,12 Suggested Bet: HIGH ON THE HILL win Race 6 Punters piled into CUSTOM and ran away with an easy watch at Caulfield last start. That followed a good fresh effort and looks to have too much upside for his rivals in this contest. Sure to be well found again in the betting. BETWITCHERY had a nice jumpout at Flemington following her first-up effort and expecting further improvement second-up. B Shinn engaged. STYLISH has been given a month off after a game chase in the Leilani Final at HQ. Drawn well, the gap between runs is a concern. PIASTRI is hard & fit and you’ll know where here he’ll be, if on-speed any advantage worth respecting. Selections: 9,4,3,5 Suggested Bet: CUSTOM win Race 7 Wide open. Give DEVIL IN HER another winning hope, she’s had a good prep and finds a race where the speed is on early which she needs, unlikely to get her preferred heavy but can run a race provided it’s still in the soft range. CENSORI is a bonafide racehorse, she sticks her neck out and wants to win. Drops in weight, the map could be the stumbling block. ORAQUA was a forgive in Sydney, maps to figure. PERFECT TEN was lifted by Williams at Sandown, she is in good form, one of many hopes. Selections: 11,12,10,8 Suggested Bet: THE DEVIL IN HER 1 x 3 Race 8 JENNIVAMOOSE has been a standout in two jumpouts over the 800m this prep, returning off 44 weeks out, fitness could be an issue and yet to win fresh, the 1800m on soft ground is ideal for a mare who has come back in terrific order. FIRST CHORUS is going to be in the mix again, been up a while but tough and holding her good form. Wary of BONIFACE, current 1st emergency switching from Sydney, watch the betting. LITZDEEL is a good stayer resuming, 1800m suits. Selections: 7,8,13,5 Suggested Bet: JENNIVAMOOSE 1 x 3 Race 9 CHANGING COLOURS raced like a different animal last start showed a real tenacity to win the race and Lucy Yoemans can take the credit as that was not always the case with this horse. Hard to beat again from a good draw. FLYING VALLEY looks the only threat but does prefer it in the heavy range which is unlikely on the forecast. ELOUYOU is a tough, consistent winter sprinter and returns from Sydney with D Lane back in the saddle, draw is awkward. LOVELYCUT also a minor money hope. Selections: 8,5,2,11 Suggested Bet: CHANGING COLOURS win Market Market
