Scott Embry’s Thursday Northam Preview Posted on August 6, 2024August 6, 2024 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 TIVACISAURUS put in another strong finish last week on a bottomless track at Pinjarra. He continues to get back, wind up late and gives the impression that he wants further and further. Well 7 days later he gets out to 2200m and we’ll find out whether that’s the case. MODELISTIC ran a ripper on debut into third and then found himself in all sorts of traffic on straightening at his second-up run in a complete forgive. DR ON CALL has been racing consistently for a while now and is knocking on the door. KERMELIA went around $2.50 last start with Pike. Get a better price this time around. Numbers: 4 – 11 – 3 – 9 Suggested Bet – TIVACISAURUS WIN RACE 2 THIS’LL SHOW YA has had four runs this preparation – all in 2 year old midweek SWP races. Now that she’s 3 she’s able to drop into a maiden and with a senior rider going on and a drop back in distance to 1100m she looks to have found a suitable assignment. Beaten under a length to Timeless Gem (second to Glasgow Lass) and subsequent winner Bondi Bay (races Wednesday) and then beaten 1L to Another Love and Gi Go Pops. Like this race for her. GLOBAL TRIP won his recent trial by 1.5L and looked really slick. The barrier the obvious concern for him. ALLENTOWN has only had a 400m jump out but looked sharp. GREAT EMOTION has been getting better at each and every trial. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 1 – 7 Suggested Bet – THIS’LL SHOW YA WIN RACE 3 KING AKEED ran second behind Champeze at his return to racing and worked to the line strongly. He was $15 into $8.50 in late betting so there were admirers fresh at odds and his trial form alongside Bold Hero has been enhanced. Not a deep race and looks to get his chance. JUST LEROY comes through the Just Famous race which is expected to hold up. I’M THAT GIRL gave some cheek at her return to racing and can again come out positive. LUCKY CHELS maps to get a favourable run on debut and has shown enough in two trials. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 7 – 10 Suggested Bet – KING AKEED WIN RACE 4 MY BE LAD has only had the one public appearance in a 950m trial and won it well. The second horse in that trial (Lucky Chels) goes around in Race 3 so we’ll get a sighter at the strength of the trial. Trialled in ear muffs and will wear them at the races. Looked to cover the ground nicely. ULTIMATE PARADISE finished second to Lucky Lily and Just Famous before doing it too tough last Wednesday in a fast run 1000. LEETRON is a 3 year old taking on the older horses. Didn’t mind his recent 1000m trial behind South Hoba. STORMAGEDDON might want further but from the ideal draw must be respected first-up. Numbers: 7 – 8 – 11 – 3 Suggested Bet – MY BE LAD WIN RACE 5 TRIO was no match for Famous Dain first-up but was still solid into second. The third horse All Vital races at Belmont on Wednesday and if he was to run well in that race containing On The Mark then it would loom as the best form reference race. Shades off and drawn well. BOLTCO JACK has run three solid races since joining Brandon and Lucy Fiore. Shouldn’t spend a penny in running. UNDER THE GUN has raced in 60+ Graduation company since joining Coreen Maynard and actually hasn’t been disgraced. IMAROCK GOD has put in one good run back in March 2024. Outside of that fair at best. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 5 – 4 Suggested Bet – TRIO WIN RACE 6 WESTERN POWER resumed this track/distance when fourth behind Queensland Diesel, Countess of Kenna and Cousin Mortimer. Further back in sixth was Bold Hero who has won since and in eighth was Foxy Rascal who has run well since as well. Looks the right form line and looks the ideal draw for him. Best chance yet. CABLE GIRL seems to travel the winner and then once exposed doesn’t have a lot under the hood. Needs the right run. SAMARAS JOY caught the eye at trials and at her return to racing when making good late ground. KING ADMIRE has been alright at trials and Liz Strempel can produce them fresh at odds. Numbers: 1 – 10 – 14 – 5 Suggested Bet – WESTERN POWER WIN RACE 7 FAMOUS DAIN travelled the winner throughout in his maiden and once put into the race covered them very impressively. Rises up to 60kg here but is drawn to get the run of the race behind the speed and does look like he’ll be making his way through the grades this campaign. WATCH ME ROCK has always had a big expectation on his shoulders in respect of the market. Goes round short each and every time he races and even without Pike expect he’ll be popular here. UNCLE GERARD deserves to win one and break this long frustrating run of outs. MISSILE STORM a watch for his new trainer. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 4 – 7 Suggested Bet – FAMOUS DAIN WIN RACE 8 ROCH LEGACY will divide opinion and no doubt is going to be better suited over further, however, both runs in this interrupted preparation have been sound and he’s on the quick back-up from another solid performance behind King Cartel at Belmont. Soft draw and third-up last preparation finshed second in a 0MWLY at Ascot. SNAZZLER has been caught in between grades for a while now. Think this is the right call coming back into a C3 and lumping the weight with a senior. ARCADIA KNIGHT ran well first-up over 1400m and gets 1.5kg weight relief coming up into a C3. LOOKS is going far better than numerical form suggests. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 4 – 9 Suggested Bet – ROCH LEGACY WIN RACE 9 MANHATTAN STRIP looks to have found a really winnable race here. First-up he finished third behind Sentimental Belle (2x Saturday winner since) and Gage Roads (since second to King Cartel). He drops half a kilo second-up , maps to get a similar run midfield with cover and is proven previously at this level (winner on a Graduation 1500 at Ascot). Nice race for him. FORTUNE’S LUCK is having her 14th run of the campaign but continues to go well. Huge effort last start behind Paigey’s Turn. BELGRANO BELLE goes well fresh and the Ike Racing team is flying. ALL DAY SESSION has been bleeding points for 18 months. Numbers: 2 – 5 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet – MANHATTAN STRIP WIN Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 1,10 1,2,4 1,2,4,8,9 2,3,5 Market Market
