Scott Embry’s Sunday Kalgoorlie Preview Posted on May 22, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 BRIGHT GLOW (Yulong Bright for those watching replays) was a $210,000 Adelaide Magic Millions yearling purchase who has only had the three starts in three separate campaigns. Now comes to Kalgoorlie first-up, no trial with blinkers on. Peter Fernie, Mitchell Pateman, it is going to be a pure follow the money job. FISHY was good last start and Kyra Yuill on is an obvious positive. ROSEICAPILLA has always shown glimpses and should be breaking her maiden sooner rather than later. JACK’S FROST knocked on the door for a lot of the Kal season and then didn’t really fire in Esperance. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – BRIGHT GLOW WIN RACE 2 CONCRETE MADAME should put on a galloping exhibition and give Mitchell Pateman his first winner at the KBRC for the season (if Bright Glow doesn’t turn up). When last in work beat Dirty Dot and Pastry, smashed Watto’s Fury then finished second to Mr Genoa in the Country Championship series heat and then third in the final. Super form for a race of this nature and drawn the inside should be short and sweet for punters. DOUBLE THE PRO has come back to racing really well and is the obvious (and only) danger. HAYAN LAD can give cheek. GLUTEN FREE looking for further. Numbers: 5 – 3 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – CONCRETE MADAME WIN RACE 3 WOCKNWOLL was solid first-up and should only improve second-up. Went through the grades impressively when last in work and is drawn to box seat behind likely leader and favourite Bos Taurus. More than capable of getting off her back and scoring here second-up. BOS TAURUS is flying and if Kate Southam gets it cheap at any stage in the race will give them something to catch. BADGE OF COURAGE has big weights to carry in Kal but is going really well this campaign. ANOTHER DEMON a beneficiary of the claim. Numbers: 5 – 3 – 2 – 7 Suggested Bet – WOCKNWOLL WIN RACE 4 RED DIRT BOY really put the writing on the wall last start. If he can reproduce that effort here at 1300m he should be awfully hard to beat. Lisa Staples is riding Kalgoorlie well and from the gate she can have him position just behind the speed and infront of main rivals. EMPOWERED is racing well and picks up a maiden soon. HUSSTARR was ever consistent with Adam Durrant and can sprint well fresh. MONTIBLU brings alternate form references which can be a big plus with a regular pool of horses. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 3 – 11 Suggested Bet – RED DIRT BOY WIN RACE 5 LITTLE HERCULES and MOONLIGHT’S REWARD were in the money last week behind King’s Authority and each respectively beating home Dirty Dot on her merits. They back up off 7 days and with the riding change and weight relief on Little Hercules going to speculate on him to turn the tables. MOONLIGHTS REWARD has taken a couple of runs to come to hand and is a different horse when finding the front. MANHATTAN MONEY won a weak maiden last start but is the progressive type. MISS NOBELLE a new comer to the region with metro and provincial form. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 6 – 7 Suggested Bet – LITTLE HERCULES EACHWAY RACE 6 RAPID EYE MOVEMENT was the best replay run of the season to date at Kalgoorlie. She got well out of her ground at her David Smith debut and was reeling off the best closing sections of the race and the meeting. Steps to a mile here and has the tactical speed to take full advantage of her gate. If she takes any natural improvement she should be winning. SASSATIONAL has been a model of consistency for Helen Harding and from the gate should make her presence felt. SURE CONVICTION has been getting under the radar and running big races. If she can settle within 4L of the leader’s she is a big chance. WEMBLEY DAYZ is building. Numbers: 4 – 5 – 9 – 8 Suggested Bet – RAPID EYE MOVEMENT WIN RACE 7 GLIMMER GIRL was super last start and is a versatile mare who can race on the speed and off the speed. The race last week was almost 4L faster than average and off the 7 day back-up she strikes another wonderful assignment. SIGIL was good first-up off the back of a hot trial. Obviously hard to catch but this looks a nice set up for him. WATTO’S FURY is as honest and consistent as they come. Always a top 3 player. MACAVITY ran well fresh. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 4 – 8 Suggested Bet – GLIMMER GIRL WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,3,4,5,11 2,3,6,7 4,5,9 2,3 Market Market
