Scott Embry’s Sunday Kalgoorlie Preview Posted on August 16, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 PARADISE SQUARE has been getting closer and closer to winning a 70+ race this preparation and has been a bit stiff to be running into Happy Harry who is simply a class above them at the minute. Off 7 days gets one more chance. WHERE’S WALLY has a short sharp sprint of about 150m. If he is within striking distance he can win. SANDALWOOD brings intrigue to the region. Metro 72+ winner returning from injury. If he can stay sound and bring his Perth form to Kal he wins plenty. GREY ENIGMA would be in the mix if they elect to scratch from Saturday. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – PARADISE SQUARE WIN Race 2 MIDNIGHT BLACK has been impressive at his last two starts for an in form Michelle Blanke stable. Drops from 2000 back to a mile and finds a weak race. He should give a good account. AHYOKA FROST comes to Kal for the first time and has been running strong sections in front at the provincials. KING FOR LIFE was swooped on by Scream in Blue last weekend before the corner. Kept kicking back. REDUCING NUMBERS ran well last start and can improve again. Numbers: 4 – 7 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – MIDNIGHT BLACK WIN Race 3 DIRTY DOT makes her race day debut and is undefeated at Lark Hill trials. Looks to have a stack of natural ability and no surprise to see her hold the front from the inside gate. Mr Peter Fernie had success last weekend with a 3 year old filly against the older horses and this one looks to have as much ability. WAR SECRETS will be breaking a maiden within the next month for the Cambana Lodge team. JACK’S FROST continues to race well but again bumps into a couple of sharper ones. CHOSEN ART an improver. Numbers: 9 – 3 – 1 – 7 Suggested Bet – DIRTY DOT WIN Race 4 DOUBLE THE PRO really caught the eye first-up when finding trouble and then second-up was one of the bigger runs of the season to date when charging at them along the outside fence into third. Backs up off 7, draws better and should win. INFILTRATOR is going great guns and again sits on speed. WATTO’S FURY has improved recently and is racing extremely well. HERRON SAND hit the line hard last week. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 5 – 8 Suggested Bet – DOUBLE THE PRO WIN Race 5 PINK AND PURPLE was given a peach by Pike to score two starts ago in this grade and then last weekend stepped up in grade. Backs up off 7, drops in grade and Pateman jumps aboard. Ticks all the boxes. ALL MAN was caught deep last start and kept coming. RECAPITULATE can give cheek if finding the front. Good effort last start when three deep no cover. KEEPER MEAN ran a big race last weekend, Numbers: 3 – 2 – 7 – 1 Suggested Bet – PINK AND PURPLE WIN Race 6 WOCKNWOLL is drawn out deep but has really hit a purple patch of form. Got nosed out three starts back, won well two starts ago and then was thrown into a metro race at Belmont Park where far from disgraced. Can show speed and if getting across looks hard to beat. CAN HE RULE HER charged late after being well supported last weekend. PEARL OF THE PLAIN settled rearward in a surprise in the Magic Millions race. Big improver if leading. CLOAK AND DAGGER is getting closer. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – WOCKNWOLL WIN Race 7 FAIR JOY has only put in one moderate run in Kalgoorlie and that was when the blinkers came off. They went straight back on last start and he duly saluted. Leads this and takes running down. BEVEL has been finishing powerfully of late and did hit a purple patch this time last year. CAPO DEL ARIA has numerically shocking form but the trial behind Sense of Denial over 1450 was very good. SCOOTER’S MACHINE got the money last week and gets a very similar run in transit. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 8 – 4 Suggested Bet – FAIR JOY WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,2,5 3 1,2,3,5 1,2,3,4,5,8 Market Market
