Scott Embry’s Saturday Broome Preview Posted on August 16, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 JEBEDIAH has gone mighty close to breaking maiden status on at least three occasions in the last month. Arguably stiff not to have won on protest last start and gets a wonderful opportunity to break through here. UNCLE CON has another venture up north. Did the same last campaign and didn’t fire at Broome but will Hall on will be hard to beat. HIDDEN ADDICTION continues to race well. CONVICTED MAN is not handling the surface but is next best. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 6 – 4 Suggested Bet – JEBEDIAH WIN Race 2 FLAT BICCY put the writing on the wall two starts ago when finishing off strongly. Won well last start when showing far more early toe. Should be too strong for a moderate bunch here and make it two on the bounce. VOLKWAGON FRANK backs up from Tuesday and is ever consistent. DEADLY TOUCH back in trip and with a senior on can improve sharply. ARMOURER is never far from the action in this grade. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – FLAT BICCY WIN Race 3 NEVARDA gave a stack of cheek in a tougher race than this on Tuesday. Should again bounce to the front and take serious running down. MAJORA’S MASK won two from two impressively in Broome before everything went wrong last start. Was finishing with the ambulance but forgive that and he jumps favourite. NOBEL IMAGE was the target of smart money on Tuesday and absolutely bolted in. Interesting to see how she goes up in grade. WONORG will be strongest late if it turns into a slog. Numbers: 5 – 4 – 8 – 2 Suggested Bet – NEVARDA WIN Race 4 CALAG ran second on Tuesday getting within a length of the winner in a race run almost 2 lengths above benchmark. Backs up off 4 days, draws a gate to stalk the leader and up to 1400m; looks like the winner. MY TRADITION has been a shade disappointing but on the fresh side, with the Cups King engaged, he’ll run a race. PAIR OF FIVEZ has been sectionally average last two after showing a bit earlier in the preparation. Could be looking for the paddock. JUST THANK ME comes from the same race as Calag and ran well. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 2 – 7 Suggested Bet – CALAG WIN Race 5 COLHOUN has caught the eye at every single start in Broome and has raced without luck the entire campaign. Finally draws a gate and can stalk them from the inside. Looks to be going great guns and after the claim gets in well at the weights. VISTA VIEW won well on Tuesday. If he can cross he’ll be hard to run down. TIGER TRAP is the only horse who didn’t race Tuesday. Darwin form is definitely good enough to win this. FLASH OF THUNDER bombed the start and was never in it Tuesday. He jumped clear favourite in that field, don’t discount. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 8 – 4 Suggested Bet – COLHOUN WIN Race 6 METALLIC BELLE had the shades added on Tuesday, was $3.60 into $2.05 and put on a dirt galloping exhibition. From the inside Altieri should be able to hold out Song of Vincent and from there is hard to catch. SONG OF VINCENT will be right up there in the firing line the entire way and the clear danger. ALI BARBER will sit off them and come with a sustained run. SALTY has been building towards another win but likely concedes them a fair start. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – METALLIC BELLE WIN Race 7 SLICK TALKER has not won a race all preparation but has also not been a race as suitable as this. Three starts ago hit the line hard behind Andrieni and Shibuya Crossing, beating home Prue in the process. If he can jump cleanly he is right in this. TELL ME THIS lumps 62.5kg but he has not been in a 50+ for a long, long time. His effort in the Port Hedland Cup was good and he can give this a shade at a price. STAR OF VEGAS is racing below her best but this looks a nice race for her. WILLAS WAY continues to tease punters but isn’t going that well on the surface. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – SLICK TALKER & TELL ME THIS WIN Race 8 DIAMOND TONIQUE was caught three and four deep the trip no cover last start and while the race was run lengths below benchmark he was still left out there working and had to attempt to sustain a run. Forgiving the effort and banking on Jerry to get across early. I’M A BLUEBAGGER can sustain a long run. With a deal of speed he can idle out deep with cover until the 800 and then charge at them. ALREADY FAMOUS sits nicely just behind the speed and he can stay. PRUE would be a blow out if Hunter finds the top. Has lead twice in Broome and won twice. It’s handle bars down. Numbers: 3 – 10 – 1 – 11 Suggested Bet – DIAMOND TONIQUE WIN Race 9 CAPE SOUNION will be carrying the weight of a race course in the last with the Get Out Stakes looking to hold the best bet on the card. Drops from a 70+ when flying late at Sense of Denial into a 58+ and has Peter Hall thrown on for good measure. Sits close handy and looks to have panels on them. KILKENNY JOE is going well but this is far tougher. MYBAK was kicked out to lead last start and won well. RED GLOW is racing below his best but is capable. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 7 – 5 Suggested Bet – CAPE SOUNION WIN Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 2,3,4,6 1,2,3 1,2,3,4,5,9,10,11 2 Market Market
