Scott Embry’s Sunday Albany Preview Posted on November 1, 2025November 1, 2025 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 QUESTIONEVERYTHING won a Lark Hill 950m trial and then finished second in a 930m back straight Lark Hill trial a fortnight later. Was doing it nicely under his own steam and looks to cover the ground really nicely. There looks to be one key danger and he’s drawn inside of him so this looks a very winnable race on debut. HYPERREAL is at start 22 and heads to a country maiden, should be going close but always wary of these long time maidens who seem to find one better. The run behind Ourgirlcanrun was really good (winner bolted in and goes to Burgess Queen) and the booking of Tash Faithfull is also huge. I’LL KEEP HALF was fully tested by Alex Hearn at trials but kept finding. MISS WEENI is lightly raced and trialled better this time around. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 9 – 7 Suggested Bet – QUESTIONEVERYTHING WIN RACE 2 AMERICAN QUE TEE and CHILEAN STAR have both trialled up well for their returns to racing for local trainer Paul Hunter. This maiden is even weaker than the opening event and it likely comes down to who gets the better run in transit. Going to go with AMERICAN QUE TEE but wouldn’t be surprised if the stablemate showed speed to march across and beat her either. Low confidence race. SOLASH MOON stepped out on debut in a Pinjarra maiden and was no match for Country God, but none of these would be. Recent trial was alright. CRASHED AND BURNED is first-up, no trial. Big market watch. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 8 – 4 Suggested Bet – AMERICAN QUE TEE WIN RACE 3 OUTLAW MUSIC is lightly raced and has upside. The only win was a 1000m maiden at Albany last prep and only fell in but a few of the provincial maiden efforts prior had plenty of merit. Loved the recent trial when pulling clear late and can either lead or box seat here. He’s a short course horse in a short course race and unlike a few of the locals has had a barrier trial which is always attractive. CAVILL TYCOON was in that same trial and showed great speed but was stopping late at 930m. ALOTOFBANTER ran some cheeky races in C5/58+ company last prep at Esperance. Big ask with the weight and the barrier but class takes him a fair way. I’M THAT GIRL showed promise at the end of last season. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – OUTLAW MUSIC WIN RACE 4 PLAY DICE has always been the kind of mare (like stablemate Our Nemesis) who can put in a shocker from time to time, so happy to completely disregard last campaign and trust her off the trial behind Zourun Run. If she brings her A-Game she’s the one to beat. HANG GLIDER is right back in grade from 66+ company in the metro area into a 58+ at Albany. He’s a metro Saturday winner who has to be respected. WISE WORDS heads back to the grass after yet another very fruitful season on the dirt. VIA MONTE is first-up, no trial but remember Jon Jachmann produced a roughie on Thursday at Northam. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – PLAY DICE WIN RACE 5 BITOFMERIT was last seen in a Summer Scorcher when going around a $7 chance. He’s now resuming in a 70+ 1000 at Albany on a Sunday afternoon. He might not have produced his best for a while but he’s a 4x fresh winner, 4x 1000m winner and classes above rivals if he’s even at 75%. BLUE LINE has been a model of consistency across his entire career and Sammy Faithfull’s horses usually fly at the opening meeting. PADDY’S FLYIN’ wasn’t disgraced in the 70+ at Kalgoorlie and does no work from the draw. HEAD’EM has his first start in WA and was in the 72+ trial behind Rope Them In at Belmont. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 8 – 7 Suggested Bet – BITOFMERIT WIN RACE 6 ROUNDABOUT GLORY is a nice horse for this grade of racing. Last run of last campaign he finished second to Justamiddy in a C5 and this is only a C2 that he resumes in. Paul Roberts has given him two trials to prepare him for his return and this is also an excellent use of the luxurious 2kg claim for Holly Nottle. Nice set up for him. CHERYL’S SHOUT was removed from Thursday at Northam to save for this. Finds this easier than the C3 at Bemont and can hold up in a really nice spot in running. WINEACLOCKSUMWHERE is already a 58+ Albany winner and the fact Sammy Faithfull elects to carry the full 61kg is a show of intent. STORMY’S SHOW has real upside. Could be in for a big prep. Numbers: 2 – 7 – 1 – 8 Suggested Bet – ROUNDABOUT GLORY WIN RACE 7 OUR NEMESIS Was a great trial over 950m alongside first-up C3 winner (and Placid Ark Prelude favourite Elite Beau) before heading to a C3 1300 at Northam first-up. Led and faded but we’ve seen Fast Harry win again and we’ve seen Pure Obsession win out of that race. He can be a hard horse to catch but Dave Hopperton calling on Tash Faithfull for both of his gallopers says he’s there to win. SACRED OATH put in his best run in 12 months first-up in a 60+ Graduation last Saturday. DUBLIN RED won well at Leonora and then held form back onto the grass behind emerging Goldfields talent Just Famous. EVERLASTING SPIRIT will look to burn across and lead. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 5 – 10 Suggested Bet – OUR NEMESIS WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,2 1,4 1,2,3,7,8 3,4,5 Market Market
