Scott Embry’s Saturday Carnarvon Preview Posted on May 6, 2022 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 LOYAL ROMANCE has her first start in WA in a race where the majority of runners have never seen dirt in their life. She was beaten 3L by Real Senor (winner at Pinjarra on Thursday) in a recent Lark Hill barrier trial and did sit close handy first-up over 1200m at Tamworth when last in work. Think she can sit up over the speed here and go well at her WA debut. NELLIESS looks the main danger. She should lead these and with so many a huge query on the dirt and the kickback she’ll stay out of trouble. SUPER BON showed glimpses throughout last campaign and new senior Kate Southam knows him well. I’M BELIEVABLE next best. Numbers: 5 – 7 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – LOYAL ROMANCE WIN RACE 2 KRAMDEN is drawn inside main danger Can’tcatchthis and from there holds the advantage. He won a 56+ 1000 at Carnarvon last season by almost 3L with 63.5kg when leading throughout so there’s absolutely no issue with the weight and all things considered he’s been going super on the metro area. Finished 2.5L off Miss Frost, Pink Carats and Our Boy Dylan; 4L off Acromantula, Panzdown and Chantorque and then 4L off How’s The Serenity. Great race for the old boy. CAN’TCATCHTHIS is very speedy and will likely come out running alongside him. She looks the danger here. MORDOR can take a little while to find his feet early. If it was 1200m he’d be very hard to beat. THE WITCH DOCTOR will get a lot of punters but has to be a huge risk first start on the dirt over the short course. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 4 – 9 Suggested Bet – KRAMDEN WIN RACE 3 MOORUMBINE is first-up for Peter Daly and is drawn a gate to lead them. First-up off 251 days at Broome last preparation he won by almost 4L running away from them. At the end of the season he finished his campaign in Carnvaron when running 4th in a C3 1000 and a 56+ 1000. Considering he’s being produced here without a trial by Peter Daly logic says he never left Carnarvon and think this is a nice race for him. POCKET PISTOL was good last start down the straight behind Madam Kisses and Galaxy Cat in a C3. Great form for this. POP THE MOET took a long time to break through but has raced well all throughout the late Geraldton season. FEMME PUISSANTE will punch up along the inside and she’ll be thereabouts. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 4 – 10 Suggested Bet – MOORUMBINE WIN RACE 4 KLONDIKE KENNY hasn’t been seen for 42 days after racing through the entire summer Ascot season. He finished the Carnarvon season on 11 September 2021 and then had another 12 starts in the campaign. He is a model of consistency in these 56+ races and sometimes at Carnarvon drawn out is better than being drawn in. If there’s any chink in the armour of Mystical Man he could be the beneficiary. MYSTICAL MAN was the most progressive horse of the Carnarvon season last preparation. He won a 1600m maiden by 6L, a C1 1600 by 2.5L and then a 56+ 1700 by 2.25L. No doubt he’ll end up being the best horse from this race, but is he vulnerable first-up at 1200? LA CHAIVE is a nice mare for this grade. SUPERLOVE finds a new home and can kick through into a prominent position. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 7 – 9 Suggested Bet – KLONDIKE KENNY WIN RACE 5 JOHNNY REB has had two starts in WA. First-up he sat in the breeze and was only beaten 5L by Galactic Storm and Nintyone Dwyer. Second-up he couldn’t go the speed and finished 4.5L off Guard The Safe and Winning Aces. Seems good enough for a Carnarvon C1 and has race fitness on his side. MAGNUSON MAN hasn’t really left the gates yet this preparation. If he was to lead, he could go very well in this. MISS BRIGHTON will get into a commanding position throughout. NORTHWOOD an X-Factor type who won from last most recently but two starts ago lead them. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 11 – 9 Suggested Bet – JOHNNY REB WIN RACE 6 TOMMY TO JACK resumed at Narrogin without a trial and finished third to Lucy Da Grey and Wise Words and then second-up was solid from a midfield position against a similar line-up. Back in July last year won a C3 1400m at Carnarvon by 3L leading throughout. Think he’ll roll forward into a prominent position and take beating. FROSTY BEVERAGE should be ready and with Tash Faithfull going on must be respected. Good effort in tougher last start. OUR CHARLIE BOY only won a Geraldton maiden last start but his racing style should be suited to the dirt. BUSH ICON will keep coming. Did run some nice races in defeat at Geraldton throughout the season. Numbers: 5 – 7 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – TOMMY TO JACK WIN Quaddie (Race 3 – 6) 1,4,7,8,9,10 1,2,5,7,9 3,5,11 4,5,6,7 Market Market
