Scott Embry’s Saturday Ascot Preview Posted on May 9, 2019May 13, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 SPECIALISM is the first of a big book of ‘shorties’ for boom apprentice Chloe Azzopardi. Only needs 3 more winners to outride her 3kg claim and could do so on the weekend. Strong win last week and looms as the one to beat. ANGEL WHISPER is going to need luck from the draw but can win with the right run. MIA DOLCE has hit form and Kirby will look for the fence. ROCKY PATH has done nothing wrong in two starts to date. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 5 – 7 Suggested Bet – SPECIALISM WIN Race 2 PROPERANTES looks just about ready. Second to Mizlecki, albeit beaten a long way, and then loomed as the winner of the Diggers Cup. The old boy has a few tricks but if Azzopardi can give him a ‘woo Prop’ early, get him on side and settled then he can win. FRIARESQUE does not like finding the front. Chris Parnham will need to hold him up as long as humanly possible. TOUCH OF SILVER is racing in impeccable fashion and can definitely win again. Concedes some big weight swings to main rivals but can’t fault him. DIABLERIE is up sharply in trip but the Special Reward form is super. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – PROPERANTES WIN Race 3 VELAGO is a risky betting proposition because of his barrier manners. If he jumps with them then should find a nice prominent spot, if he misses away again then it is unlikely he will be able to circle them like last start. Interesting race. SIGIL has been ready to win one for over 1000 days. He doesn’t know how but this is another wonderful race for him. SUPREME FORCE looks suited by the small field. RECHARGER likely finds and holds the front. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 5 – 6 Suggested Bet – VELAGO WIN Race 4 CLASSIC PRO drops out of the Listed Gwynne for fillies and mares back into three year old company. The effort was enormous and the race contained Lady Cosmology and Electric Light who have gone to races since and run out of their skin. The form is brilliant and she looks hard to beat. INFLATION is still learning and will keep improving with every run. Can lead if he jumps. FORGOTTEN STAR is a nice filly but does it tough from out there. SOPHIE’S SONG was good enough last week. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 6 – 5 Suggested Bet – CLASSIC PRO WIN Race 5 DEACALDA looks to have another race at her mercy. Sat off a hot speed last start and won effortlessly and impressively and this could be the end of Chloe Azzipardi’s luxurious 3kg claim. Maps to sit just off another hot speed and should zap rivals. SON OF BACCHUS is not a 1000m horse but trialed the house down and is worth following. TO RISE AGAIN has smashed the clock at his last two. Will need to burn early to find a spot early. FRIDAY FILLIES was scratched from a winnable race Thursday to save for this and is racing well. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 5 – 10 Suggested Bet – DEACALDA WIN Race 6 DON’T FUSS could be the forgotten horse when markets open. On recent form he should be around an $8/9 chance but might get under the radar. Rises sharply in grade but maps to get a soft run behind a frenetic top end speed and can prove the blow out. SPECIAL REWARD has proven himself time and time again this preparation, recording more and more impressive figures each time he goes to the races. The biggest concern here is that if Parnham holds up on The Velvet King and Senorita Bonita springs the gate underneath him then where does that leave Special Reward. THE VELVET KING is all class but may need a touch further. SENORITA BONITA and Brodie Kirby somewhat hold the key to the race, interesting to see how they ride her. Numbers: 9 – 1 – 7 – 3 Suggested Bet – DON’T FUSS EACHWAY Race 7 MY DEMI is in career best form and this is exception placement by the Harrison yard. His last two wins have been when dropping in grade and his most recent effort behind Valour Road, Mervyn and Hoboken was the replay run of the month. If he can hold a position midfield he should be too simply too strong. Should be favourite in this. ROUTE EIGHTY EIGHT lost all winning hope when De Andes fell on top of him turning for home. Backs up off 7 days and previous form strong. SOY TAN RAPIDO is honest and consistent and will come out running. Will she cross Just a Fluke? KING’S AUTHORITY as consistent as they come. Numbers: 2 – 11 – 7 – 1 Suggested Bet – MY DEMI WIN Race 8 TWENTYTHREE RED is his own worst enemy. He gets very fired up in the mounting yard and last start when they sent runners back to the stalls after a pre-race incident he was walked around behind the gates for over 40 minutes. The run was great, he draws soft and he has a rider known to get them out of the gates. ARCTIC STREAM is wonderfully placed to bounce back into the winner’s circle. Drops in grade and maps well. SONNEN bolted in and Brandon Louis proving himself a quality staying hoop. PALACE ROGUE can win if crossing cheaply. Numbers: 9 – 1 – 5 – 7 Suggested Bet – TWENTYTHREE RED EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1 1,9 2,7,11 1,5,6,7,9 Market Market
