Scott Embry’s Saturday Ascot Preview Posted on November 6, 2025November 7, 2025 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 ALL ON RED is just bombproof. He jumps brilliantly, he travels boldly and he shows no signs of stopping at the end of his races. He’s two from two undefeated and after the ZJP claim he’ll actually carry the lightest weight of his career. If they again allow him to cross uncontested then he’ll be going very close to making it three from three. BEATTY hails from a powerful juvenile yard and trialled particularly well leading into his debut. Team Casey had two 850m trial winners on that day and he went even faster than the highly impressive He’s A Machino who won by nearly 3.5L. Could be the biggest threat yet to All On Red. ONE LAST RESORT covered ground on debut and stuck on well. LONDON ROSE ran really well on debut. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 2 – 8 Suggested Bet – ALL ON RED WIN RACE 2 MY AUTHORITAH went from a maiden win straight into a 3 year old Saturday win last campaign and this time around resumed over 1200m in the Belgravia Stakes and while finishing at the rear of the field was still sectionally a really encouraging run. He ran the third fastest L600 behind undefeated stablemate King Of Light and subsequent Burgess Queen Stakes runner-up Talkanco and was simply looking for further. Brilliantly placed into a 60+ Graduation and goes around eachway. RUBENS’ CEILING is two from two and showed versatility last start after leading and winning on debut. HASANI gets weight relief and a senior rider back on. WESTBOUND has X-Factor but could be short coming off a country maiden win. Numbers: 7 – 8 – 6 – 9 Suggested Bet – MY AUTHORITAH EACHWAY RACE 3 FIRST ENCOUNTER and SIMPLY are coming out of the same 72+ race behind Be Bardot and with the claim of Amy Jo Hayes there’s a 3kg swing in the favour of First Encounter. Think he can sit back and wind up over the top of his rivals here third-up. Loved the fresh run, was a touch flat/dour second-up and looked to be screaming out for the staying trips. SIMPLY looked to be slightly held up from the ~400 – 200m before angling inwards for a run (50-50 on whether he was or not) but looks ready to win now. They’re both capable of winning better races than a 66+. ROYAL LAW ran out of his skin in the Kal Cup and showed it was no fluke last start with another eye-catching minor. EXQUISITE TASTE parks close handy and enjoys a soft run. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 3 – 8 Suggested Bet – FIRST ENCOUNTER WIN RACE 4 BARTIME is better known as a 1400m type but his last start effort this track/distance/grade was enormous when covering plenty of ground in a fast run race and still toughing it out for second behind Kraken Time. This race lacks tempo (comparative to last start) and that should allow Austin Galati to park him right up over the pace. Looks winnable. DEFINE BEAUTIFUL changes ownership and stable mid-prep but does look to map a treat here and she’s raced consistently well recently and was afforded no luck last start when wide throughout. HYMNS OF ELADDAIR woud probably prefer if this was 1400m but he’s as honest as they come. NET ZERO isn’t a 1200m horse but he trialled really well? Numbers: 6 – 12 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – BARTIME EACHWAY RACE 5 NICCIANA bolted in his maiden first-up at Northam and then went straight to a 60+ Graduation, sat leader’s back, got off the leader’s heels and pulled away for a dominant win. The overall time recorded was 5L faster than average and all of a sudden he looks an emerging Saturday type worth following. Just needs to overcome a slightly tricky draw (outside Canny Rock / Supido Express / Soaring Solo). CHINO LA DIVA was responsible for that tempo and is arguably better suited back to 1200m. She couldn’t be going any better at the minute. SHOOTING SPIRIT has a sharp turn of foot on his day and those animals are really well suited to Willie Pike’s riding style. CANNY ROCK is versatile and knocking on the door. Numbers: 8 – 4 – 6 – 1 Suggested Bet – NICCIANA WIN RACE 6 KAY TEE WHY suffered his first defeat of the campaign last start when forced right back to last and just missing in the final stride when lunging at Too Dardy. There will always be a level of unknown with these 1000m types stepping out for a rare venture to 1200m and add in the fact that Willie Pike has jumped ship, however, he (somehow?) didn’t get any handicap penalty last start so meets Too Dardy 2kg better and draws to get a lovely run midfield with cover. Great set up for him to bounce back. ESSENTRIC NATURE has really come of age this campaign. He’s gunning for a fourth straight win and the most recent of his victories was clearly career best. 2026 Carnival Type? NORICH is high speed, high pressure and will stretch them. SILVER EYE is drawn a lemon but absolutely flying. Numbers: 6 – 5 – 2 – 7 Suggested Bet – KAY TEE WHY WIN RACE 7 KING OF LIGHT went two from two to start his career as a 2 year old over winter and looks to have come back bigger and better as a 3 year old. Realistically if they were going to beat him it was first-up at 1200m in a Belgravia and given that he was able to pick up and sprint over the top of them in race that wasn’t run to suit the backmarkers shows that he’s the real deal. He’s justifiably Northerly Stakes favourite. HEEZA PHOENIX looks the biggest danger to King of Light’s undefeated tag. He is the only speed in this race and should lead uncontested. That allows Lucy to control, dictate and kick hard into the corner. MARDUSA gets the right run midfield cover and wasn’t far off King Of Light last start. ROCK FEST made an impression in two runs over winter. Trial was only fair? Numbers: 1 – 5 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – KING OF LIGHT WIN RACE 8 SUPER SMINK had trialled super leading into her return in the Crawford when flooding home from a mile off them to get within a length of Rope Them In and Londons Image. She couldn’t have done any more and now heads to 1400m second-up drawn to settle many pairs closer. If she can towball Comfort Me and get the run on straightening she’ll be very hard to beat. WESTERN EMPIRE is a proven WFA commodity and an absolute star of WA racing. His trials have been as good (if not better) than Super Smink’s and if she’s held up along the fence then it’s his race for the taking down the centre. COMFORT ME leads and likely runs a ticky again. MAGNIFICENT ANDY is far better suited at WFA than SWP. Numbers: 9 – 1 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – SUPER SMINK WIN Same Race Multi – Super Smink (Top 3) + Western Empire (Top 3) + Comfort Me (Top 4) Looks a match race between two extremely high class horses in Super Smink and Western Empire with one drawn low (Super Smink, barrier 1) and one drawn wide (Western Empire, barrier 11). Confident that one of the two wins but we’ll play safe and go Top 3 the pair, and add in the ever consistent likely leader Comfort Me to hold onto Top 4. RACE 9 CAPTAIN PLUTO put the writing on the wall in the Northam Cup with a fast finishing third behind Red Sun Sensation who he meets 2kg better at 1800m. Interestingly he hasn’t really been a ‘Pike horse’ since arriving in the West: 1/8 for the Wizard (average SP = $2.90) but here’s hoping that record improves come Saturday. RED SUN SENSATION will likely have the company of Filthy Habits who will ensure that this race is run at a far more genuine tempo than the Northam Cup. He’s back to his best and his best won a Group 3 at Morphettville and placed in a Group 3 at The Valley. MEMORY PARADE was wide throughout and only beaten 3.5L in the Asian Beau. Arguably should have beaten Watch Me Rock at 1800m last prep. FILTHY HABITS is the toughest horse in WA (with Marocchino now retired). Numbers: 5 – 6 – 13 – 7 Suggested Bet – CAPTAIN PLUTO WIN RACE 10 LITTLE SILVER has had an outstanding preparation to date. 9 runs for 2 wins and 4 minors and looks to get every chance here in a wide open finish to the program. He’s fit, he’s in form, he’s 1600m back to 1400m, he’s drawn low in a race with speed drawn to his outside (Our Rocky Bay / Exceltrain) and he’ll jump well into double figures. See no reason why he can’t run a cheeky race. SOLDANELLE went to the line with Essentric Nature two back and then last start got into all sorts of trouble. Pike back aboard and expect plenty of support in betting for her. Just hard to catch. ANGEL UNDERCOVER is well placed back in grade and after the claim looks a live chance. THEHORSEMAN has taken all before him at the GTC. Numbers: 4 – 16 – 1 – 6 Suggested Bet – LITTLE SILVER EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 7 – 10) 1,5 1,9 5,6,13 1,4,5,6,8,14,16 Market Market
