Race 1

NUTBUSH GIRL (3) has found the front in her last four starts and gone on to record impressive victories in all of them. She looks likely to find the top again and will be very hard to catch. OVERLY EXCITED (8) ran on well to win from a similar draw at his last start and will be suited if the favourite doesn’t find the lead. OFF THE CHARTS (5) is racing well and looks the other winning chance. WATCH ME WAVE (2) and POCKET THE CHANGE (1) are both place chances from their nice barriers.

Suggested Bet: NUTBUSH GIRL (3) to win.

Race 2

The first couple of hundred metres could decide this race. SIANGDI (1), ME FLASH (3) and MAJOR FREEWAY (4) would all love to lead and their gate speed is the opposite of the barriers. SIANGDI (1) is the slowest of three but may be able to do enough with the stagger effect and I’ll put her on top because she will still have a winning chance if she is crossed. ME FLASH (3) and MAJOR FREEWAY (4) obvious dangers but I wouldn’t want to be on either of them if they weren’t in front. LIL HAPPY FELLA (11) has a nice trailing draw and will be suited if there is an early burn.

Suggested Bet: SIANGDI (1) to win.

Race 3

NATHAN STREET (1) had a torrid run first-up and it wasn’t a surprise to see him knock up at the finish. He isn’t the most tractable horse and has had troubles from this barrier in the past but he will be very hard to beat if he does hold up at the start. ROCK ARTIST (9) is flying and is capable of overcoming the wide draw if the polemarker doesn’t dominate the event from the front. OPAL HUNTER (4) has won three of his five starts this time in and is still on the way up. SOHO MOONRAKER (10) will enjoy a lovely run on the pegs if the favourite does things right.

Suggested Bet: NATHAN STREET (1) to win.

Race 4

HEAVENLY GIPSY (2) was beaten by her stablemate, PENNY BLACK (6) in consecutive runs before leading throughout to defeat a weaker field here last week. This will either be a quick lead time (rip up your ticket) or she will get away with a bit and she will give a great sight under that scenario. PENNY BLACK (6) has the best form in the race but there will be a couple of runners who will be conscious of letting her past them at the start so she could be in for a tough run. AARDIEBYTHESEASIDE (3) is versatile and could force her way to the front or enjoy a nice run close to the speed. LITTLE DARLING (4) hasn’t had much luck this time in but is racing well. SWEET VIVIENNE (1), WONDERFUL TO FLY (9) and LION QUEEN (10) can all win without surprising.

Suggested Bet: HEAVENLY GIPSY (2) to win.

Race 5

GOLDEN LODE (1) has been unplaced in his last four starts but his recent efforts have been full of merit. He hasn’t got a great record from this barrier but he is a more mature horse now and he will be the one to beat if he can hold up at the start. ALTA TRIBUTE (12) was a brave 2nd in the 4YO Classic and will run a big race at each way odds if he can find the breeze without working too hard. JUSTCALLMEMIKI (10) disappointed in that event but he will be dangerous from this draw if he sees daylight at the right time. COPY CAT QUEEN (2) won the 4YO Championship and then a Nugget Prelude last week and has proven she can take it right up to the boys.

Suggested Bet: GOLDEN LODE (1) to win.

Race 6

MAGNIFICENT STORM (1) should lead and win and it will be the biggest boilover since Polly forgot that she put the kettle on if it doesn’t. LAVRA JOE (6) is the other class runner of the field and should be in the money. HIGH PRICE (10) has been unplaced in all six starts this time and doesn’t have the class of his rivals but can sneak into the placings if the towrope doesn’t snap too early. SWINGBAND (9) is next best but drawn poorly.

Tips: 1 6 10 9

Suggested Bet: MAGNIFICENT STORM (1) to win.

Race 7

MAXIMUM ROCK (6) didn’t handle the mid-race pressure in strong 4YO company here last week. He was a good winner at his previous start and he will be hard to beat if he can step cleanly tonight. BLAZE AWAY (7) has been unplaced in his last eight starts but he drops significantly in class for this assignment. STAR CASINO (12) ran exceptional time when 3rd to Rock Artist off a 50m handicap and is capable of being in the finish again. ROCK ME OVER (8) ran 2nd in that event and meets STAR CASINO (12) ten metres better off so must be considered.

Tips: 6 7 12 8

Suggested Bet: MAXIMUM ROCK (6) to win.

Race 8

PAROQUET (8) was an impressive winner from the breeze three starts back and she will run a great race tonight if she take up that position without expending too much energy. ARIONROCK (6) charged home to finish 3rd in a stronger field at his last start and should be finishing strongly again. SWEET IVY (11) is racing consistently and has a nice trailing draw. TUBBS FARQUAR (1) has good gate speed and has options from the pole.

Suggested Bet: PAROQUET (8) win.

Race 9

ICY COLD (3) led throughout four starts back in solid time and she will be hard to beat if she can find the front without going too hard in the early stages. ROLLINDOWNTHERIVER (8) won in 1.55.0 here two starts back and will be suited if there is a genuine tempo. BENJI (9) has been showing good gate speed and could make things interesting if Jocelyn Young pushes the button at the start. MY COPY (4) wasn’t far away in very quick time at his last start and is improving.

Tips: 3 8 9 4

Suggested Bet: ICY COLD (3) to win.

Race 10

CONTROL THE ROOM (1) was a good winner at Northam at his last start and the rise in class here is offset by his perfect barrier. TROUBADOR (6) had no luck in the WA Derby last week but is highly rated by the stable and should make his presence felt tonight. RUMBE STRIP (8) attempted to lead throughout in the Derby and only knocked up late and should be in the finish. FULL SWING DENARIO (3) was an impressive winner at his last start and has the turn of foot to make him dangerous.
