Scott Embry’s Friday Albany Preview Posted on January 9, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 TWO COOL is a new comer to the region and as we saw on the weekend Roy Rogers can get them to fire straight away. She possesses incredible early speed so expect her to lead and be hard to run down. ROO was eye catching last start from well back. The 1000 concerns. MARK MY CARD was good enough first-up to consider. IBIZA next best. Numbers: 5 – 8 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – TWO COOL WIN Race 2 POND ZERO has had an interesting preparation and now joins the yard of Gavin Foster. No doubt he has been freshened since his last staying race and if the sprint is back in his legs he can win. SHEZABUTOO is arguably the worst served by this meeting being taken away from Mt Barker. Deserves to win one. COMPS can be an improver under the Faithfull banner. BEYOND THE DARK gets every chance from the draw. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 10 – 3 Suggested Bet – POND ZERO EACHWAY Race 3 COOL WITNESS is best known for being a dirt specialist but this race lacks a genuine tempo and should roll straight to the front for noted front running hoop Simone Altieri. Can be the value. LANGLEY is yet to win a race since arriving in WA but his last two have been very good. This is his most winnable assignment so far. LOSING TICKET was stiff not to run a place for loyal followers at Esperance. LEXDEN GAMBLER needs this kind of trip. Numbers: 6 – 4 – 8 – 2 Suggested Bet – COOL WITNESS EACHWAY Race 4 SWIFT PLATINUM has been excellent since joining the stables of Gavin Foster and looking on paper you would suggest this is the one he has brought down to get the cash. Has been competing in harder and gets his chance to finally break back into the winner’s circle. COLD AS COLD was a huge run first and is more than capable of winning again. ROUND THE POINT back in trip is better suited. LITTLE PUNGA again looks to lead and win. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 4 – 8 Suggested Bet – SWIFT PLATINUM WIN Race 5 MESSIAH finally looks ready to show his best and Roy Rogers puts his number 1 hoop in Diamond Dan Staeck on. Showed big ability early in his career but went missing for a while. He could be back. DEANGLES will find this a far more suitable assignment than his last one where he had a crack at Saturday company. CALBANESCO should get the right run to be afforded every chance. BURNING MAGIC is only a C1 animal but she should be winning plenty for new connections. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – MESSIAH WIN Race 6 WAR KSAR jumps off the page in a moderate staying race. His effort last time out was excellent where he made a long sustained run at them and was held off by ill fated mare Prix D’Excellence. TONED is always worth a nibble if they throw him up at eachway odds in this grade. SPEED ‘N’ REEF returns from a dirt campaign and is more than capable on his day. BOOOMNBUST rolls to the front and has found his niche this preparation. Numbers: 4 – 3 – 1 – 7 Suggested Bet – WAR KSAR WIN Race 7 CAPTIVATED POINT backs up after an authoritative and well deserved victory last week. He must lump 61kg but is known to carry weight and he should be very hard to beat drawn gate 1. SECRET ASSAULT is the 1000m specialist in the field. If he can get across and sit in the breeze then he’ll take beating. LADY STINGRAY was good last week. LOOKING ON a mad one for novelty players. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 8 – 9 Suggested Bet – CAPITVATED POINT WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 3,5 1,2,3 1,2,3,4,7 1,3 Market Market
