Michael Heaton’s Sunday Kalgoorlie Preview Posted on June 7, 2019June 7, 2019 | Posted by Michael Heaton Michael Heaton’s Preview Race 1 ILLMATIC was held up at crucial stages last start but his previous form is good enough for this. He maps to lob one-out, one-back and should be nearing his peak. Gets his chance. WHISPERING JACK comes from the same race where he was forced to make a long, sustained run which didn’t suit. Maps awkwardly again here but can improve. BANGCRASH has raced against stronger opposition in his last two and the blinkers go on for the first time here, while KICKAPOO is still a maiden but is coming out of a decent sectional race and can lead this. Numbers: 6 – 4 – 3 – 7 Suggested Bet – ILLMATIC WIN Race 2 THE CRUEL SEA is going well and looks ideally suited dropping in class for his fifth run of his preparation, as well as stepping out to the mile for the first time this time in. He won fifth-up this time last year and his past 24 starts have been in higher grade than this. HE SAID SHE SAID has returned to racing in good order and will give cheek again out in front. GRAND CADEAU hasn’t won a race for a while but is building towards his peak and rates well on his best form. MAJOR MAMBO should get a gun run and has place claims. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – THE CRUEL SEA WIN Race 3 BOLLYWOOD BLITZ resumes and hasn’t placed in his last 13 outings, however, he hasn’t seen a race of this grade for 14 starts. He has to carry the grandstand but his last two campaigns have been in much tougher races than this and he should get a soft run. The ultra-consistent ANOTHER DEMON hasn’t finished out of the money in his past five starts and is suited dropping back to the six furlongs here. TOO CLEVER recorded good figures in his last-start win but may have to settle last or be three-deep. PARADISE SQUARE makes his return and can get the run of the race from barrier one. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – BOLLYWOOD BLITZ EACHWAY Race 4 FOXY DREAMER can lead from the draw and might be able to pinch it in a race where some of the main fancies have drawn poorly. ON ZE RUN hit the line well enough on debut and should take natural improvement. LITTLE FLIRT clocked the fastest closing sections last start but is likely to get back again from the draw. EXPLOSION is another with a tough alley to overcome but can still win with luck in running. Numbers: 10 – 15 – 11 – 2 Suggested Bet – FOXY DREAMER EACHWAY Race 5 SMARTY should take a power of beating, despite the crippling outside barrier draw. His figures are better than this field and he should prove hard to beat with any luck in running. THE CORNISH won her first two race starts over summer and resumes here. She has more upside than most of these. SONG OF WAR hasn’t won a race for 800 days but has been plagued by bad luck this preparation. He is going well and maps to get a much more favourable run here. OUR MAORI BOY has grown a leg since being under the banner of the astute Jezpark Racing team. He was a late scratching on May 19 and will race 36 days between runs but the stable is renowned for getting them fit. Numbers: 5 – 6 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – SMARTY WIN Race 6 EXCARO has looked very impressive in all three of his starts in Kalgoorlie this season and the figures have matched the vision. His wins have been well above benchmark for this class and he should simply lead and win again here. LADY LE JEAN hasn’t greeted the judge for almost 500 days but is racing well and is always thereabouts in this company. ICE ONE resumes and has drawn awkwardly but can actually slot into a favourable position if the field strings out as expected, while HAYAN LAD endured a torrid run first-up but battled on well enough. He can lob into the box seat here. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – EXCARO WIN Race 7 GLIMMER GIRL rates off the charts for a race of this type and looks ideally placed. She was a good thing beat in 64+ grade last start when only going down by a head to a 70+ winner, drops back to a 58+, steps out to 1300m and maps to land in the box seat. Should be winning with even luck. GANGBUSTER resumes off the back of a nice trial without blinkers. The shades go on here and he can make his presence felt late. BEVEL made up no ground from the tail of the field first-up but is better suited here. His form last prep was solid and he can be a sharp improver at double figures. MONASH is a different horse since he changed stables and is doing a wonderful job for his cashed-up new connections. He can run another big race if he rolls forward from the wide draw in an event which lacks natural speed. Numbers: 6 – 1 – 3 – 8 Suggested Bet – GLIMMER GIRL WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 2,9,10,11,14,15 2,3,5,6 3,4 1,6 Market Market
