Matt Young’s Friday Gloucester Park Preview Posted on March 11, 2026March 12, 2026 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 BETTATHANLIFE (11) is a smart mare on the comeback trail, now under the care of Aiden De Campo, she looks well placed to be at the pointy end of the money, tended to do things wrong towards the end of last prep but the ability is there. TA IN ADVANCE (1) won well last time out after securing the perfect run, looks nicely placed from the draw and has options. TRUNKEY CARRAWA (3) is a quick beginner and may be gunning for the lead and would give some cheek in that role. JINGLING JEWELS (10) ideally drawn and is racing consistently, looks a solid novelty chance. MY LITTLE BIG MAN (12) next best as he can run on. Tips: 11 3 1 10 Suggested Bet: TRUNKEY CARRAWA (3) each way. Race 2 TERROR IN TEXAS (3) is third up into the preparation and both runs have had plenty of merit, has the draw to push hard towards the lead and looks like it could be there for him, has been proven when leading and looks hard to beat. GREVIS (1) has the nice draw and has been consistently around the mark, but he isn’t a horse who can do too much work in his races. SUGAR SHAKE (7) returned after a long break with a decent run, should improve further but won’t have the luxury of leading here. CEE DEE THREE (4) has come back in a consistent manner, shouldn’t be too far off the speed. DOURADO (9) needs some luck from the wide draw but is racing well. Tips: 3 7 1 4 Suggested Bet: TERROR IN TEXAS (3) to win. Race 3 CHASING REX (6) has returned well and looks set to run a big race here, he is versatile and should be spot on and ready to go now third up into the preparation for Gary Hall Jnr, keen on his chances. XCITE ME (1) would’ve slept well last Friday night, was belted from pillar to post before dropping out, she is a good on pace horse but has had a couple of hard runs recently. GOODTIME LOUIS (10) isn’t at his best but has the draw to be prominent and with a lot of the field left to talk about, he profiles like them just from a better draw. MAJOR FREEWAY (2) novelty chance if he could lead but that looks unlikely with BURGHLEY SHARD (3) in the same boat. CAMS BOULDER (7), THOMSON BAY (8) and ROCK ME OVER (9) all capable but draws dictate they will have to go back and run on. DEL BOCAVISTA BAY (11) and LORD TITANIUM (12) will settle closer and can be considered in novelty contention. Tips: 6 1 10 11 Suggested Bet: CHASING REX (6) to win. Race 4 Challenging race. SEBASTIAN JAMES (11) has been luckless in his recent defeats, but the runs have had plenty of merit and tonight he’s a decent price to play and looks to be at the pointy end again. MAD MONDAY (4) was in good form towards the end of last prep and appears a big danger here, just a tricky draw with BEAT THE BANK (1) drawn well and racing in fine form. MY SILVER SPOON (2) is capable and on return with some early speed. SPITFIRE (10) is a nice type but looks a rolling type, therefore inside back row appears a tricky draw for him. BETTOR ARCADE (9) racing well enough to still enter the money from the wide draw. Tips: 11 4 10 1 Suggested Bet: SEBASTIAN JAMES (11) to win. Race 5 Fast front line could make things interesting here. TALKS UP A STORM (2) looks to have the speed to hold them but was beaten on his merits when leading two starts ago in similar grade. LONGREACH BAY (3), ROCKANDROLLARTIST (4) can both fly out but doubt they can cross with the latter more adaptable if he doesn’t cross. PETES HONOUR (6) likely pushes forward and looks for the top, handed up last time out but may try and go throughout here. MINOS (7) weakened last run but was good in recent wins and likely to be driven forward again, with all of that happening I’m throwing a wide one out there. THE IRON DUKE (8) was good on return and hard to gauge in the Pinjarra Cup, looks versatile and suited to run well in this and could be value. JUSTCALLMEMIKI (9) returns and has plenty of talent, must be respected. FINAL COLLECT (10) rises in grade but looks a talented type and can also watch things unfold. Cracking contest upcoming. Tips: 8 6 7 9 Suggested Bet: THE IRON DUKE (8) each way. Race 6 ECLIPSE LINE (6) looks a strong chance to work his way to the top, his form has been deserving of more than one win in his last half dozen and if he could lead, he becomes the one to beat. LINCOLN RIVER (10) was a good effort last run to even get that close with the way the race was run, faces his second stand in his career and this grade more suitable, expect him to run home powerfully. GEE SMITH (3) is a chance to lead early and would likely look for cover of one of the fancies. CHACO EAGLE (8) was a big win last start but races in his first standing start. DAWSON (9) has proven to be difficult to catch and appeared disappointing last run but does race well in the stands. BLUTO (11) was solid on return and had to do too much second up, 40m is no easy task. MY COPY (5) an outside chance, could add value to the novelties. Tips: 6 10 3 5 Suggested Bet: ECLIPSE LINE (6) to win. Race 7 DIAMOND WORLD (1) looks ideally placed, won well on return and wasn’t disgraced the next couple, looks to have the speed to lead and can control this race and appears the one to beat. CIGANDA (10) is perfectly drawn looks a solid place chance with some winning claims, has returned with a string of seconds to her name. DIAMOND BAY (5) was fantastic last time out, might have to run a similar race again. Novelty chances to REELEM INN (2), THE SWINDLER (3), MINOR CATASTROPHE (6), FUNKY MUSIC (11) and BAZAAR PACKAGE (12) who drops in grade but do prefer her on speed. Tips: 1 10 5 12 Suggested Bet: DIAMOND WORLD (1) to win. Race 8 IL BANDITO (1) has the nice draw, and they may try and lead with him in this, he was beaten when leading in slow time, but he does race well on speed and doesn’t appear to be a heap of pressure. JOEY JAMES (3) returned well and has the speed to ask the question early, if he could cross, he would be hard to run down. SUNSHINE SWIFT (10) didn’t have the best of luck last time out and has drawn nicely, sure to be around the mark at the business end now third up into her preparation. IDEAL INTEREST (5) was a good effort when leading on Monday, harder task from the draw. PRIDDAH (2) and THE WAND WAVER (12) both novelty hopes. Tips: 10 3 1 5 Suggested Bet: SUNSHINE SWIFT (10) each way. Race 9 MAJESTIC GA GA (8) was unreal in winning the Trotters Mile at Pinjarra, she did things wrong at the start and still came around them to win and pricked her ears at the line, she is in rare air and it’s hard to see her getting beaten. YANKEE LOVER (2) had excuses for breaking on Monday, nicely drawn and racing well, looks a strong place to novelty player. MY LIGHTNING MCQUEEN (4) will look to use her speed early and hopefully find the top; she’s a novelty chance but has been beaten fair and square by MAJESTIC GA GA (8) a few times now. LUVAFLAIR (6) will be running on, she was driven world perfect at Pinjarra last time out. PATCHED (7) comes in fresh and looks to return to his better form. Tips: 8 2 4 7 Suggested Bet: MAJESTIC GA GA/YANKEE LOVER to exacta. Race 10 IM STEALTHY (4) should dominate here, he will flex his muscles early and get to the top and it should be game over. JUSTASMOOTH MIKI (1) is lightly raced but has plenty of ability, looks to be able to lead early and sit to the favourite and from there, good place chance. IN RARE AIR (8) is a nice type on return but the draw is awful. THE FINAL OFFER (7) has ability but also on return from a crummy draw. DROP THE ACE (2) likely drops in behind the pole marker and becomes a novelty chance as she can be speedy. Tips: 4 1 8 2 Suggested Bet: IM STEALTHY/JUSTASMOOTH MIKI to Exacta. Market Market
