Scott Embry’s Friday Geraldton Preview Posted on March 11, 2026March 12, 2026 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 SNEAKY SESSION raced at the last Geraldton meeting in a C1 when finishing third behind Salvado and Rule The Realm. Drops back into a maiden, drops 1kg in weight and should get across from the draw in a race that severely lacks any speed or pressure. GIG GOGO has been up and down in distance across her preparation. Think she’s more a 1200m type than a 2000m type. ENCOSTA DE MONEY was slowly away on debut and then completely out of the race from there on. Forgive. GILES is first-up at 1200m for a horse who was seemingly only getting warm at 2000 when trained by Rob Gulberti but boy does this race fall away quickly. Numbers: 8 – 7 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – SNEAKY SESSION WIN RACE 2 FLAMING DRANGON is a different horse when he can find the fence. He has run two placings in his life and they are the only two times he has led. Blinkers on first time, drawn to lead – that’s him. All or nothing – can not afford to give up the lead. Led at 300-1 two back and nearly beat Caleb. Led at 50-1 last start and nearly held off Extra Zero. IL BELLO BEALS is a long (long) time maiden and just continues to find one or two better than him on each and every occasion. DANEA ROCK ran a handy race at her Geraldton debut but that was at 1600m dropping back from the staying maidens in the provincial area. Back again to 1400m is right down on the lowered end of her distance range. KALLAHTI showed something early in the prep, but little recently. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 9 – 3 Suggested Bet – FLAMING DRAGON EACHWAY RACE 3 HARD SOLO is brilliantly placed by Ash Maley. Since breaking her maiden at the GTC she has contested: a Group 2, 3x Listed Races, a 3 year old Plate, a 60+ Grad, a C5 and a C3. This is the first time she’s gone to C1 company and it’s back at Geraldton. There’s no doubt she was disappointing at Esperance on Cup Day but if she’s jumped a $3 second favourite to Meat Pie Artie in a C5 there, she has to jump nearly odds on here? ARCHENEMY showed that his first up run at 40-1 was no fluke. He was massive last start and if he reproduces again he’ll be very hard to hold out. DAZZLING BOBBY was a different horse with a fence to follow second-up. Same set up here. GOLD LIGHTNING was solid coming out of maiden company last start. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 5 – 7 Suggested Bet – HARD SOLO WIN RACE 4 SNIPPETY LEGEND won a 70+ 1400m in a canter and then went to Ascot and wasn’t disgraced behind Yougivemechills beaten only 2L. Back to the country and expect he’ll be going very close to bouncing back to winning form. Some season Tony Scally is enjoying. This horse is 4 from 5 in the region and probably not the best horse that Tony has in the barn! TRULY GALLANT was 63 days between runs at 1400m in a C2 with 61.5kg last time out and got within 1L of Cateran in a very fast run race. He now reunites with Holly Nottle, drops 6.5kg start to start and while he races outside the handicap as a c66 rater it’s offset by the fact he’s drawn well, he’s lightly raced and he’s progressive. MANHATTAN STRIP was a complete forgive last start when never seeing daylight. GOLD KEEPER is as honest as they come. Numbers: 4 – 9 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – SNIPPETY LEGEND WIN RACE 5 MOORUMBINE had three runs in Geraldton last season before heading home to Carnarvon and expect it’s quite a similar set up again for the now 9 year old. He doesn’t win out of turn but he’s rarely far from the action and from the draw, with the booking of Tash Faithfull, he’ll get every chance. Nice race for him sliding back into a 58+ as a proven weight carrier. Kind of race the old boy could pinch. Stablemate ENTICING went around nearly 50-1 fresh and was wide throughout and finished third to an in form Bonny Rock. SAFE HUSTLE loves to lead and can cross the stablemate to find the top. DEEP DISCRETION will be short enough for a mare who is drawn 10/11 and right back to 1100m? Numbers: 2 – 10 – 3 – 7 Suggested Bet – MOORUMBINE EACHWAY RACE 6 CATERAN had blinkers added two starts back and that has been the making of the horse. He broke his maiden by 1.75L in a time 3.2L faster than average and then he backed it up stepping into C2 company and beating a nice horse in Truly Gallant (goes to a 70+ earlier in the day) in a time 5.3L faster than average. The 1600 won’t worry him, the only concern is the barrier coupled with the weight. CANTILEVER has been up for a long time (start number 12 this prep) but wasn’t that far off Cateran last time out and does get a 3.5kg weight swing. HILLSIDE HORACE hasn’t had much go his way this prep. BLACK SANDS MAXIMUM IMPACT can give some cheek. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 7 – 8 Suggested Bet – CATERAN WIN RACE 7 SCURGEOFTHEWEST is simply a class above his rivals. He has won four on the bounce now, with 61, with 60.5 so the weight is no issue, and against very similar opposition to what he meets here. He’s out to 1600m for the first time in the campaign but realistically he belongs in 70+ company, however, with Snippety Legend around Tony Scally is taking the opportunity to hold his emerging star back in this grade and split them up. Bring him to Perth! LET’S SEA is going really well on the grass for a horse well proven on the dirt. Doesn’t have the class of his stablemate but he’s got a decent pull in the weights. THE RUSH shot through to win impressively last start. KENTUCKY BLUE is getting fitter and closer. Numbers: 1 – 10 – 5 – 6 Suggested Bet – SCURGEOFTHEWEST WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 2,4,9 2,3,7,10 1 1 Market Market
