Harry Buchanans Friday Greyhound Best Bets Posted on August 11, 2023 | Posted by TABtouch CANNINGTON Race 2 No. 5 Scientist and No. 7 You’re Busted The 5 is a big price for a dog who was a bit unlucky last week. Pushed through the middle before stood up first turn and checked out. Can get a better run here with what’s around him. The 7 has the trick bag and needs an instant arm to win. Otherwise he will be happy to place but is worth an EW play here in case he steps his best. Race 3 No. 2 Morpheus Tux Not sure this bloke is out of this at all. No luck at Northam when making a strong run up the back and the small field suits here as does the draw. He could chime in again and a few wide runners only help his claims here. Top 2 play at the odds. Race 4 No. 1 Danny Heffernan Ultra impressive last week when mustering quickly and putting them to the sword quickly. Never looked like going down after that and moves a draw where he can lead throughout again. Looks a huge hope. Race 5 No. 6 Joe The Lion and No. 1 Black Salmon The 6 only has to offset the box here and he can run into this strongly. He does handle most boxes though and while there is some speed here, he doesn’t need the arm. The 1 gets his chance to bounce back off the box here. Usually steps quickly and hard to catch when he gets it all his own way in front. Will need to step to hold up but he can. Race 6 No. 5 Ultimate Command and No. 2 Launch Control Couple of old mates here. The 5 is racing out of his skin at the present. Can step and show pace but he just keeps attacking the line over this trip anyway. Clear run and he’s a huge threat. The 2 plays for luck but with the few speed dogs here he will get his chance to stoke up and rush home again. Just need to get going sooner. Race 8 No. 4 Kingshott Went super last week behind Tweak Freak. Moves closer to the fence and can show up early and find the spot he needs to get into his work. Kennel flying and will give another big sight here and go close. Race 9 No. 4 Redhead Rider and No. 8 Ice King Surprised the 4 is double figures here. A repeat of last weeks step and go will see him do that again and he runs time on the arm to boot. Don’t mind him boxed in the middle either. The 8 just keeps turning up and will again rush around early and look for that forward slot. Probably needs the arm to himself here but will be hard to catch if he gets it. Race 11 No. 2 Cool Myra and No. 5 Notorious Harada The 2 missed it horribly last week and that was her race over. Usually steps much better and only has to get around the red quickly who can use some track. If she beats the red out and leads she wins. The 5 is the other speed element here and another who won’t be caught on the arm. Great effort last time and she is consistently spearing out. Will look ominous again with a clean step. Market Market
