Race 1: SLATER GARTRELL SPORTS THANKS LEITH WESTBRED MS PACE

STRAITTOTHEHILTON (11) was racing without luck but he has been impressive in winning his last two in solid time. He has shown that he is capable of overcoming back row draws and will give a great sight again. PERSISTENT THREAT (12) had been placed at 11 consecutive starts before copping a check at his last run but can be in the money tonight. GUNS WITH COWS (3) is an improving type who has the barrier advantage over his main rivals. TOMMY BE GOOD (5) won in quick time before knocking up last start but should be thereabouts.

Race 2: SLATER GARTRELL SPORTS KEV`S 80 MS PACE

FLAMING HERO (2) resumed from a good campaign with a fast finishing 2nd at Northam. He is better drawn tonight and is likely to make a play for the top and be hard to beat. ROCKY MARCIANO (4) resumed from a spell when he beat FLAMING HERO (2) and wasn’t suited by a sprint home on Tuesday but still ran a solid 3rd. IMA CONNOISSEUR (10) couldn’t handle being involved in the hectic tempo last start but had won his previous three. ALGRANCO UNDER FIRE (11) has a nice trailing draw and can be in the finish.

Tips: 2 4 10 11

Suggested Bet: FLAMING HERO (2) to win.

Race 3: SLATER GARTRELL SPORTS FORRESTFIELD & THORNLIE WESTERN CROWN CLASSIC 2YO FILLIES

MACZAFFAIR (8) made her Australian debut with a comfortable win in slick time. This will be considerably harder as she is poorly drawn and goes up in class but she is still the one to beat. IM STYLISH (2) was a strong 2nd at her debut and looks to have scope for improvement. BEACH GODDESS (3) was a good last start winner and should settle handy in the run, while AUSSIE AVENGER (1) is drawn to get a perfect run and her last start effort can be overlooked.

Suggested Bet: MACZAFFAIR (8) to win.

Race 4: SLATER GARTRELL SPORTS ALLIRA & JETT BOND HANDICAP SS PACE

BESOTTED (1) makes his Australian debut and his form lines around the likes of Have Faith In Me and Hughie Green indicate that he only needs to step cleanly to win. He has warmed up with a recent Byford trial win and should win many races here. SIMPLY SUSATIONAL (12) was just that at his last start but will be hard pressed giving the favourite a 20m head start. AVALON BROMAC (2) and ZNANA (5) are both racing well and can be in the money from the front line.

Race 5: SLATER GARTRELL SPORTS MIDLAND SUPER STORE WESTERN CROWN CLASSIC 2YO COLTS AND GELDINGS

WESLEY (7) has created a big impression with three all the way wins in solid time. He is drawn wider and goes up in class but will give a great sight. HEZA HEAD HONCHO (6) wasn’t fancied in the betting on debut but found the top and scorched the track with a 1.55.8 win and a repeat performance will see him go very close. IM ROCKARIA (4) and VINCENZO PERRUGIA (3) ran nice placings in the same race recently in quick time and look legitimate winning hopes.

Suggested Bet: WESLEY (7) to win.

Race 6: SLATER GARTRELL SPORTS ALEX`S 21 & AMY`S 18 MS PACE

ELEGANT CHRISTIAN (11) was a 1.53.9 winner over the 2130m three starts back and will be extremely hard to beat if he brings that form. He has the wide draw and sprint trip to overcome but is clearly the class runner of the field. COURAGE TELLS (1) was a 1.54.1 winner over the same journey last start and is even better suited by the 1730m tonight. CHANGE STRIDE (2) ran 3rd in that race and looks a major player here from this draw. IDEAL ALICE (3) was beaten a half head by Frith before a break and her Byford trial was good enough for this.

Suggested Bet: COURAGE TELLS (1) each way.

Race 7: SLATER GARTRELL SPORTS WESTERN GATEWAY PACE

CANT REFUSE (3) has only won one of his 15 starts but his effort in the NSW Derby and then game 2nd at his WA debut indicate he will plenty of big races. He will be suited by the staying journey and is the one to beat despite the likelihood that he will be in the breeze. SPRINTER (1) wasn’t far away in the NSW Derby and has option from the draw and will give a great sight. THE ART FORM (2) was below his best first up but is drawn to be a big improver tonight. CHICAGO BULL (5) beat a similar field last start and must be respected despite being unlikely to find the top tonight.

Tips: 3 1 2 5

Suggested Bet: CANT REFUSE (3) to win.

Race 8: SLATER GARTRELL SPORTS SINCE 1978 MS PACE

SHIRLZ SENSATION (8) resumed from a lengthy break with a dominant 1.54.7 win and wasn’t disgraced when sitting outside Kimba Bay and finishing 5th to that pacer. He should be fitter again and will give a big sight. SIR TOSTI MACH (7) has resumed in blistering fashion with three wins and a good 2nd last start. He is likely to settle near the rear but can unwind a big finish. THREE BLIND MICE (11) is more than capable on his day and IMA TRAGEDY (3) doesn’t have the class of the other three but is drawn to advantage.

Tips: 8 7 11 3

Suggested Bet: SHIRLZ SENSATION (8) to win.

Race 9: SLATER GARTRELL SPORTS JAKE & LOLA THE JOHNSON FILLIES AND MARES QUALIFYING HEAT 1

MAJOR REALITY (9) is shooting for nine on end and it would be brave to tip against her. She has come home in sub 27 quarters at three of her last four starts and, whilst she won’t get it all her own way from the draw, is clearly the one to beat. ROBYNS C C (1) and BONNY UNDER FIRE (2) have fought out two recent events with the winner being decided by the draw and should provide some opposition for the favourite. DELIGHTFUL JADE (8) disappointed last week but could go better held up for one run tonight.

Suggested Bet: MAJOR REALITY (9) to win.

Race 10: SLATER GARTRELL SPORTS THE MALLET & JEM MS PACE

LETTUCERIPRITA (4) has been very impressive in his five starts this campaign, highlighted by his effort last week when he faced the breeze and was narrowly beaten in 1.54.1 over the 2130m journey. He draws nicely and a repeat performance will make him the one to beat.  GIULIANA RANCIC (3) led and over raced when a solid 2nd last week and should be thereabouts. THREE BEARS (12) was a close up 4th in a hot field last start and can overcome the back line. GLENLOCHAR (9) blew the start last week and will be a big chance if he can cross at the start.
