RACE 2 NO.2 FOXY FRIDA

FOXY FRIDA looks ready to win again following two runs back from a spell and gets a great chance when she contests the Inglis Bracelet (1600m). The four year old finished hard when running 2nd behind SIRILEO MISS in the Ladies Day Vase (1600m) at Caulfield on October 13 and meets that mare 2kg better for a narrow defeat. Significantly, she returns to Flemington where she has a fine record of two wins and a second from three starts at the track. Elite rider Kerrin McEvoy takes the mount and FOXY FRIDA represents the best bet of the day.

RACE 7 NO.6 REAL SENSATION

The $500,000 MCCC Country Final (1600m) has brought together a field of in-form restricted class horses. I’m using the Horsham heat of the series as the best form reference and REAL SENSATION appeals as a great each way gamble. The four year old ran a solid second behind RIOT AND ROSE and meets that horse 2kg at the weights. He will appreciate a step up in distance and is already a winner at Flemington earlier in the year. Whilst he has drawn a wide barrier, he will settle back in the field and expect him to be finishing strongly; looks the best value of the day.

RACE 9 NO.11 A VERY FINE RED

A VERY FINE RED comes down from Sydney to contest a very suitable race when the Mark Newnham trained filly runs in the Red Roses Stakes (1100m). The key formline for this filly is two starts back when she ran a luckless 5th behind the subsequent Coolmore Stud Stakes winner HOME AFFAIRS in the Heritage Stakes (1100m) at Rosehill on September 25. A repeat of that run would see her proving very hard to beat in this race at each way odds.
