Chris Nelson’s Randwick Best Bets Posted on August 14, 2020 | Posted by Chris Nelson RACE 3 No.5 Varda Godolphin galloper who is flying at the moment having won her past couple at Rosehill comfortably. Importantly they were both on wet ground which we are dealing with again tomorrow. Her numbers are well above the opposition here suggesting she’ll handle the step up in grade without too many concerns and bring up the hat trick of wins. RACE 5 No.2 Taikomochi Placed both starts this time in steps up to 1800m third up which looks very suitable for the Waterhouse/Bott runner. He drops back from Listed to open company only rising a kilo and on the map he should find himself settling in the first couple in a race where there doesn’t appear a great deal of early tempo. He’s going to prove very difficult to run down. RACE 7 No.2 North Pacific Looks a very promising type this team Hawkes trained galloper who resumed in outstanding fashion at Rosehill last month. His closing sectionals were the best of the meeting and his overall time was quicker than the older horses later in the day. He’s been back to the trials with a win at Rosehill just over 10 days ago to sharpen him up for tomorrow’s assignment which should be a winning one.
