Race 5 No. 6 Ole Kirk   

Team Hawkes trained colt who I thought would be very hard to beat in the Sires here a couple of weeks back. He did finish out of the placings on that occasion (4th 1.9L) however was pushed wide on the home turn before knuckling down and sticking to his task well in the straight. The step up to 1600m should suit however I’m definitely looking to back on an each-way basis.  

Race 7 No. 2 Santa Ana Lane

Happy to back this multiple Group 1 winner on an each-way basis also. Probably not a great draw for him or perhaps it is? He can save ground early, jockey Tim Clark will very likely be pushing to get to the outside before the turn and if able to gain unimpeded running with enough time to wind up he’s a big chance of running right over the leaders late.  

Race 8 No.5 Deprive

Godolphin trained sprinter third up from a break tomorrow who without doubt would have been set for this race here at Randwick as his record at the 1400m trip on this course is 3 starts for 3 wins! He’s put the writing on the wall both runs back hitting the line strongly over 1000/1100m and gets the services of James McDonald. Big chance!
