Chris Nelson’s Randwick Best Bets Posted on May 3, 2019 | Posted by Chris Nelson Chris Nelson’s Best Bets Race 2 No.1 Heart Conquered Promising galloper from the Hawkes yard who resumes from a break tomorrow having not raced since winning here on the Kensington surface in January. He has been prepped up nicely for his return though with a dominant barrier trial win at Canterbury towards the end of last month. The opposition tomorrow don’t look strong suggesting he can make a winning return. RACE 5 No.9 Kapajack Looking for a Hawkes stable double with this one who also resumes from a break. Interestingly he also comes out of the same trial won by his stablemate Heart Conquered (above) clocking in 4th only 2 lengths away. His only fresh run to date was a fast finishing win at Rosehill running 11 seconds flat for his final 200m. Monitor the betting moves and if they remain solid he’ll go very close to winning. RACE 9 No.3 Maktoum Kiwi visitor from the Mckee yard who fought well to beat all bar the winner at his first local start at Warwick Farm recently. He will find this a touch harder however drops slightly in the weights and will go in fitter as that outing was his first for a month and a half. Has a good overall record, handles all types of going and should run well at an each-way quote. Quaddie 3, 8, 10, 12 2, 3, 5, 6, 7 8, 11, 12 2, 3, 10 Market Market
