RACE 1 No.5 The Autumn Sun

Current favourite for the Group 1 J J Atkins at Doomben in a fortnight this will be his final lead up run. Only the one outing to date when green however impressive winning at Randwick on Anzac Day which was off the back of some impressive trial performances. Given a month off the step up to 1400m won’t concern as he’s had a soft trial since that debut victory. Looks the clear winner.

RACE 3 No.2 Sasso Corbaro

Newcastle trained galloper who had nothing go right for her first up at Scone when slow to jump and also finding trouble in the run. She does have some handy form behind her with close up efforts behind the likes of Pierata and Alizee at Listed and Group level towards the end of her previous campaign. Small field suits tomorrow and she just might be a little too strong for her rivals.

RACE 7 No.3 Our Century

Ex Lloyd Williams owned stayer who has only had the two starts for the Kim Waugh stable and is already a winner. That was at Rosehill last start in the Lord Mayor’s Cup when jumping up to the 2000m trip off a solid 1400m run fresh. Tomorrow he takes the further step up in distance which is only going to suit even more as he’s yet to miss a placing which includes one win when successful at Caulfield over tomorrow’s 2400m trip.
