Race 1

CIGNETTI finds a nice race against his own age after winning his maiden at Sale franking his trial form this campaign. Goes forward with B Shinn and the one to run down. LEPOLO may end up the best horse to come out of the race, 1500m may be too short after a freshen and a jumpout between runs, each way claims. KO PHANGAN beat a weak field last time, looks a tougher assignment here. HYDROBOMB can improve and needs to with a gear change and has some ability.

Race 2

Tough race. Those in form CELESTIAL ZARA two on end and well-placed to date by the McArdle stable, one of the key speed runners up in grade and could make the leap. OCEAN BAY had the late backing at Geelong and duly saluted for the white-hot Bedggood stable, if she handles the quick back-up she’s a key player again. ILLIIVY is a consistent mare and drops in grade with Shinn up. One of many winning hopes. BLUE WILLO comes back in trip which appears a positive.

Race 3

INTEREST POINT has a big finish at 1000m when the speed is on and finds that set-up first-up here this time in. Won latest jumpout and no shock to see him charging at them late. MAINMANKASH will cop pressure from BEAST MODE and TRES MAGNIFIQUE may get the drop on both, she’s been forward at the jumpouts and looks set for a big run fresh. This is a good race so she’ll need to do everything right. BEHAVIOUR is racing well for the hot stable, gate one is the niggle.

Race 4

ROMANTIC ENCOUNTER may lead the well-fancied stablemate CRUISERWEIGHT who has been in an out a couple of times and at the risk of being ‘ring rusty’ on Saturday. I suspect they take a sit this time after leading and fading last time. SAVOYARD is a nice horse on the up and hit the line strongly fresh, the tempo is likely to decide his fate. QUEEN CHRISTINE keeps on winning and may get it soft up top. FUNDAMENTAL NATURE won fresh off quiet jumpouts can improve further.

Race 5

LEOPARD SHARK has won third-up and found the line well fresh and in a strong quality jumpout between runs at this course, he looks the best at odds on the card. Big fan of SAINTLY DANCER, tries hard and wants to win as she showed last start at Sandown. Up to 1300m suits. RUBI’S CHOICE is set to go fresh after a number of jumpouts in a stable that can get them wound up, needs it on the drier side to be at her best. PORTINARI will appreciate this easier event and GHANA’S AKAN still a maiden but has ability.

Race 6

Hard to see CLOSE TO FREE getting any pressure and with a run under his belt may have the edge on his key rivals. BLIND RAISE looks a star on the rise and impressed at the jumpouts, his target is the Caulfield Guineas so should be going close in this, watch for a push from the yard on his fitness. PUT TO THE SWORD was scratched from a recent Saturday meeting and went back to the jumpouts, scopey colt who should appreciate the 1300m on a big track. WOLF GAP is a progressive type switching states, some hope also.

Race 7

EVAPORATE is so well-placed under the conditions of the race so picks himself, 1500m is an ideal trip and drawn to advantage, if there’s a knock he can bring himself undone. TEN COMMANDMENTS gave the lead speed too much rope on a slow tempo last start, a positive ride from the wide gate puts him in the mix and wet track may help. ZAMBARDO is going well at the jumpouts, best form on dry but can handle softer conditions. FREEDOM RALLY chimed in quickly off a slow speed last start for the flying Bedggood stable, respecting his chances.

Race 8

Young vs old, narrowed down to three chances. NATURAL FLING is the hard and fit filly with speed to burn and the wide gate can play into her advantage being left alone. GIGA KICK looks to be flying at the jumpouts, sure to run well if he’s wound up. EXTRAGALACTIC comes into this first-up and was given a solid test in a recent Pak jumpout, lower draw could be a niggle. CAVALRY GIRL has a fitness headstart on most and won’t shock to see her continue winning form.

Race 9

I can see TENNESSEE BOUND bouncing back by going forward and owning this race early. Pressure from HERE TO SHOCK who is first-up, trials ok, may need the run. DESERT LIGHTNING was super at the jumpouts but appeared in the need of the run first-up returning from QLD, can improve further today. PERSIAN SPIRIT and WARNIE are consistent and both have hopes in an open race.

Race 10

CHANGING COLOURS holds a commanding spot in the betting and for good reason, improved with racing under new trainer and finds a perfect race and map position to put the hat-trick of wins together, a heavy track is the slight query. STAY SILENT will take a power of beating if we get plenty of rain, hard and fit, goes forward to lead with the hot trainer & jockey combination. FLYING VALLEY, MR VERSE and CASTLE ON HIGH some claims on a wet track with a forecast of 15mm expected.
