Scott Embry’s Sunday Bunbury Preview Posted on November 21, 2025November 21, 2025 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 HEAVEN SPECIFIED won a maiden and then has since gone to a Belgravia Stakes and a Fairetha Stakes. 1400m back to 1100m is awkward mid-prep but with a set of shades going on, hopefully that’ll sharpen him up enough. King of Light / Heeza Phoenix / Rock Fest, they’re lengths better than these. VANDOULA JET burst onto the scene with an all the way win in a 3 year old 0MWLY and then was thrown straight into the deep end by trainer Stef Vahala into the Placid Ark Prelude when finding that a bridge too far, beaten 10L after being caught wide throughout. Back to mid-week company, back to barrier 1 and can either lead or box seat. PURE SILVER is also right back in trip from the Champion Fillies. FROSTLAND has trialled up nicely. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – HEAVEN SPECIFIED WIN RACE 2 ARTISTRY IN MOTION went toe to toe with Esta Mirando in a C1 1400 last start and was only beaten in the final stride. Thought that Esta went quite well in the Champion Fillies last week so the form looks even better and he certainly races like getting out to a mile will suit him. Expect that Lucy looks to cross early and give herself the ability to lead and dictate. Only time he raced at Bunbury he absolutely bolted in against the fence. Looks an odds on pop? OISIN resumed in a C3 and wasn’t disgraced behind an in form Muddy Waters. Back in grade and a good use of the 3kg claim for Rocky Cheung who has ridden a few winners this week at odds. BIRD ON A WIRE is on trial at the trip. GALILEA is hit and miss. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – ARTISTRY IN MOTION WIN RACE 3 INVINCIBLE THIEF is at start number 14, so she’s had a fair few chances, but quite like the use of the 3kg Holly Nottle claim and would love to see them kick her out and try to lead. She was luckless last start when unable to secure clear running in the home straight and prior to that was running honest minors to Hoya Destroyer and Berry Blast. WHO’S TALKING is the stablemate and got too far out of his ground last start and also got held up in the same race. REGAL BOY caught the eye at his return to racing when hitting the line nicely from a mile off Publicise and Long Laugh who ran quite well on Wednesday at Belmont. KING OF MUSTER next best. Numbers: 5 – 6 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – INVINCIBLE THIEF WIN RACE 4 CONCHETTA’S DREAM looks like a genuine $1.30/$1.40 pop here. She ran second on debut to Long Service Leaf and then after a freshen she finished second to talented type Storm Away on a day it was hard to make any real inroads, even for those settling close handy. William Pike riding 54kg the day after the Railway at the BTC is the telling factor. WHY SHE STAYED has put in two solid runs this campaign and draws far better here. Like the versatility she has shown this prep too. FOXY RASCAL didn’t come up last preparation. Watch the market. ZERO TO SIXTY improved trial to trial and has the fence to follow. Numbers: 9 – 8 – 1 – 7 Suggested Bet – CONCHETTA’S DREAM WIN RACE 5 JIMMY ANGEL is finally back into a maiden. Ran fourth to talented colt Heeza Phoenix in the only maiden he has contested and since then has finished second to Testy Pharoah in a 3 year old midweeker, raced in a 0MWLY when jumping under 20-1 well outside his gradea and then finished 4.7L off undefeated filly Hot And High. Right placement. WHISKERS HARBOUR is really knocking on the door now. He loomed the winner two back behind Ginger And Tonic at odds and then showed it was no fluke last start with a strong second to highly progressive debutante Sentimental Legend. Drawn to park up over the speed and enjoy the run of the race. BUSY FINGERS was the beaten favourite in that event and now reunites with William Pike. FORTUNATE SPIRIT ran well on debut. Numbers: 9 – 1 – 3 – 11 Suggested Bet – JIMMY ANGEL WIN RACE 6 SAVAGE DANCER was bitterly disappointing as an even money elect on Melb Cup Day but it was a race that was dominated by the on-speed brigade and she was chasing from a fair way out. Ess tempo here and that should allow her to find her feet and finish off powerfully like she did fresh. BOSISTO is caught awkwardly at the standard m62 rating for those 4 year olds who have won a maiden and been consistent enough to not drop points. It leaves Graeme Ballantyne to choose between lumping the full 60kg with a senior or claiming and he has bounced between those options all prep. Deserves to win one and think the claim is the right call. RIVER ANGEL was much better second-up. RETURN OF THE MACH broke his maiden well last prep. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 5 – 4 Suggested Bet – SAVAGE DANCER WIN RACE 7 SURFSIDE SESSION won a C1 1000 at Belmont on a Heavy8 and then went to Ascot and won a Westspeed Platinum 1100. Last time out he seemed to have a few very minor excuses but ultimately for a $7 chance he was below par. Drops right back in grade into a C3, draws barrier 1 and while he has 61.5kg he’s a 60.5kg weight carrying winner previously. Should be able to box seat and from there he’s the one to beat. MANTUA was fair last start, got caught three back the fence when the leader was off and gone. ACORN is a work in progress. Leading and letting him roll for now is the (only) way to ride him. GALWAY SHAWL has a sharp little turn of foot. Like the way she goes about it. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 5 – 7 Suggested Bet – SURFSIDE SESSION WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 9 1,3,9 1,3 1,2,5 Market Market
