Glenn Ingram’s Saturday Caulfield Preview Posted on November 13, 2025November 13, 2025 | Posted by Richard Quance RACE 1 Wide open start. GRACIE’S RAIN is resuming and has speed to overcome a wide draw, she is well-placed at this level over 1100m with Emily Pozman’s claim and should take catching if the track remains firm. JUST LIKE GABY was scratched from a wide gate at Wednesday’s Heath meeting for this more suitable task, she maps for a soft run leaders back. INTEREST POINT savaged the line off a fast tempo at 1000m last start recapturing his early career form, tricky draw, will need luck getting off heels in the straight. IKASARA is a big watch, resumes gelded off 31 weeks, fitness a query, watch betting. Selections: 6,8,7,3 Suggested Bet: GRACIE’S RAIN 1 x 3 RACE 2 A number of different angles and the speed is moderate. Sticking with TIKEMYSON who is airborne for the Wilde stable, he was swamped by Pittsburgh Pirate in the Horsham Cup and that form stacks up. The former Kiwi was heavily-bet to win at Bendigo and held up at a key stage and still able to sprint best. BLACK RUN is the interesting runner, an on-speed galloper from Sydney getting the claim and will be hoping for rain, a query at 2400m. GATES and MOVE ON IN come through the same race, the latter meets him 2kg better at the weights, the former appears more likely to run out a strong staying trip. Selections: 6,1,10,14 Suggested Bet: TIKEMYSON 1 x 3 RACE 3 SKIPPERS CANYON surprised the market with a big win first-up at his Australian debut, followed the effort up at Caulfield and then disappeared, two recent trials suggest he’s fit enough for the 1700 fresh off a break and the pace looks solid enough. NEARING LIBERTY maps for a beautiful trail, he’s a consistent horse who lacks a punch at the end of his races, sure to run well again. NATION’S CALL is a key speed influence down in grade and is on the quick back-up with in-form apprentice Logan Bates aboard, with any luck from the draw he’s fighting out the finish. SIGIRIYA ROCK was given a brilliant steer to win at Geelong when the money was on, tricky draw to overcome here. Selections: 9,7,1,11 Suggested Bet: SKIPPERS CANYON each way RACE 4 HEDGED finds an ideal race to capitalise on his form for new trainer Gavin Bedggood, heavily-backed in defeat behind sub winner Jigsaw at Cranbourne then took late ground off Caballus up the Flemington straight. Tagging the speed, he’s hard to beat. BEAST MODE is as his name suggests with two impressive wins since blinkers added at MV, setting fast speeds and sustaining it, out to 1100 at this higher level is the litmus test. SGHIRRIPA comes through the fast run sprint where he was disappointing, can improve sharply second-up and any give in the track a bonus. Fellow SA visitor GRINZINGER PRINCE appeals at odds, an impressive return at Morphettville and proven capable at this level, guaranteed a fast tempo but does need it dry. Selections: 4,6,2,8 Suggested Bet: HEDGED win RACE 5 BLINDEDBYTHELIGHT is on the 7 day back-up and drops in trip where she can settle handy to the speed from an inner draw, she was strongly-supported at Flemington and was too far back to make an impression, L Nolen returns to the saddle. ROLL ON HIGH was good against the boys last start in a return to form and is placed to win, she needs the speed on. PONDALOWIE mixes her pattern and her form, i suspect they go forward again to make use of the draw. BRAVE MISS never got a crack at them at Flemington and can figure with more luck in running, she has been in career-best form this preparation. Selections: 9,3,8,7 Suggested Bet: BLINDEDBYTHELIGHT each way RACE 6 Trap race, a few coming off interrupted preps including VESTAS who was outstanding at the jumpouts and again at this course first-up in defeat with the track pattern against, she raced out of her grade at MV and then missed a run at Flemington due to bad weather, she’s well-placed to improve her poor winning strike rate but is again on weather watch. SOFT LOVE was ducking and weaving at Flemington and hit the line well once clear, worth another chance. MERRIGOLD missed a run over the carnival due to poor bloods, her first-up run showing no intent was impressive without luck, fitness and 1200m are the query second-up. SHE’S BULLETPROOF was “in season” owing to her disappointing effort last start, saves her best for Caulfield and drawn to be prominent early. Selections: 8,9,6,1 Suggested Bet: Multiples with 8,9,6 RACE 7 SHEZA ALIBI found her right race returning to her own sex at Flemington and sprinted quickly once gaps appeared. She reunites with the boys in a race lacking depth and is clear horse to beat but well found in the market. What to make of CENTU CAVADDI, legless in the betting and in performance last start when never a factor and reportedly choked down, freshened up, prior efforts suggest he is capable of measuring up and is over the odds on the back of one bad run. BURMA STAR was good winning off a five week gap over the carnival, sure to be fitter again, any rain increases his winning chance. From there the race opens right up. TAGLINE comes through right form lines to figure, barrier makes it tricky. Selections: 12,9,2,5 Suggested Bet: Multiples with 2,9,12 RACE 8 The speed is moderate. ANGEL CAPITAL gets his chance at G1 glory, impressive upon return for the new stable at MV and then luckless in the Rupert Clarke, like many, he didn’t get the fast pace needed in the Everest when coming back in distance. Sitting closer to the front, a strong winning chance. JIMMYSSTAR has a briliant record this course and distance and overall. At his best in bigger fields with the speed on and has to navigate his main danger to his outside. EVAPORATE is a key speed influence likely to take up the running from VINROCK with Mick Dee up and may chance his arm and take it on. Selections: 5,1,2,7 Suggested Bet: ANGEL CAPITAL win RACE 9 TEINE AULEILEI is kicking down the door of a win, luckless in the Crockett, she again had to take her medicine from a wide draw in the Vanity and was given a good ride presenting to win but bumped into a smart one. Back to 1200m and hoping for a fast tempo to finish over the top. MY GLADIOLA leaves Flemington and the straight track which is the one small knock, her form lines are impressive and arguably the best 3YO form in the country. The inside draw is potentially problematic. INKARUNA also leaves Flemington behind and chased gamely in the Red Roses with the addition of blinkers, she too found another top filly. SNOW MERCY was given a freshen after a tough run in the Red Anchor, a jumpout between runs and a chance back against her own sex. Selections: 9,1,2,3 Suggested Bet: TEINE AULEILEI 1 x 3 RACE 10 Brutal finish. Many chances. TAKEN is the starting point in the race, won four of his five starts last campaign rising through the grades. He’s drawn to run well, only one jumpout leading into this suggests his target race may come further into the prep. SPIONE is lightly-raced with further upside to come, in need of the run fresh in the Dual Choice Plate and hit the line nicely, sure to be improved second-up. RAIKOKE has the fitness advantage over key rivals coming back in distance and as a key speed influence, right jockey to bounce him out and get rolling. MODOWN has been jumping out in the manner of a horse who can run a big race first-up, the inner draw may be costly if he cant get him out and holding a spot. Selections: 7,13,6,2 Suggested Bet: Multiples with 6,7,13 ROUGHIE: Race 1 Number 6 GRACIE’S RAIN Market Market
