Warren Huntly’s Wednesday Caulfield Preview Posted on November 19, 2024November 19, 2024 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 SHINING SMILE has performed well at both his runs to date and should prove hard to beat but a number of the debutants have indicated decent ability. GRANDSTRAZ and SIRIUSLY HOT have shown enough at the jumpouts to be respected. GOLD DECREE wore blinkers in his most recent jumpout and looked sharp winning his heat. Selections: 1,7,6,3 Suggested Bet: Happy to look and learn Race 2 PHOENIX LEGEND has been jumping out in good style and should make his presence felt on debut. AQUEDUCT was well supported when chasing well on debut and will be better for the experience. PARCH may be better suited coming back to 1000m. NEVER A THOUGHT is another to be jumping out well enough to consider. Selections: 7,1,6,5 Suggested Bet: Phoenix Legend each way Race 3 LITTLEBIRDIE has jumped out well to resume after an encouraging debut and looks hard to beat. POETIC STORM didn’t have much luck first up and will appreciate 1200m. THE SECRET and LE PLUS RAPIDE have both been jumping out ok for their respective debuts. Selections: 7,8,12,4 Suggested Bet: Littlebirdie to win Race 4 ROYAL INSIGNIA quickened impressively to win last start and dry ground seems the key to him. HARPALEE raced in restricted room last start and gives the impression 1200m she’ll cope with 1200m. CORA LYNN was well placed to break her maiden last start but the form through Certain Rise and Catoggio is strong. VERSAILLE may not have coped with the straight first up and her debut win and jumpout work would give her a chance. Selections: 4,3,9,8 Suggested Bet: Royal Insignia each way Race 5 HOWLIN’ RAIN has been hitting the line strongly and looks suited stepping up to 1800m. DRAMATICUS is developing a good profile and maps for a great run. UNTETHERED is most consistent and can make his own luck. HOOAH HAVANA is on trial at 1800m but is fit and racing well. AUSTRATA and MACY MOON have claims. Selections: 9,8,4,2 Suggested Bet: Howlin’ Rain each way Race 6 CHANGING COLOURS has been scratched on more than one occasion since her first up run but if she’s ready to go she looks the one to beat. SASQUALAH and DIVINE THOUGHTS have form that ties them together and Sasqualah had excuses when fav last time. DELICIOUS TYCOON and DANE ON TOUR are in the mix in an even race outside Changing Colours. Selections: 8,2,4,1 Suggested Bet: Changing Colours to win Race 7 SAN MARINO stuck on ok in a strong race last start and may be suited coming back to 1500m. ROADCONE needs another win but has a strong SP profile and had excuses last start. WORCESTER has jumped put well to resume and will put himself on speed. ET TU BRUTE is in the game if he makes the field. DRAGOON and RUMINATE are among the other winning chances in a deep race. Selections: 4,7,12,14 Suggested Bet: San Marino each way Race 8 NOVA LIGHTS stuck on bravely after covering ground last start looks well placed. APPARATUS had a successful first prep and has been jumping out well to resume. DE BERGERAC should get a soft run and looks suited coming back to 1200m. ZOMBIE MISSILE ran well first up and will strip fitter. HONOR GALORE is some query at 1200m but will give a sight. Selections: 12,7,5,11 Suggested Bet: Nova Lights each way Market Market
