Scott Embry’s Tuesday Broome Preview Posted on August 14, 2023August 14, 2023 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 STAR SOPRANO burst onto the Broome scene when giving Wuhan Warrior windburn in the home straight on 1 July. Meets him 1.5kg worse at the weights but did beat him by over a length. Last start finished third behind Apple Schnapps who heads to the Broome Sprint as one of the main fancies. Drops back into a 58+ and can sit just behind Wuhan Warrior and Joyrize and look to zap them late. WUHAN WARRIOR had shades coming off last start and they looked to sit him. He wasn’t at all comfortable and the shades go back on. GRATED COCONUT brings the alternate form from Roebourne, Port Hedland and Marble Bar. HERE NO CASH next best. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – STAR SOPRANO WIN RACE 2 PAEROA LAD has had excuses his last two in defeat. His first-up win in Broome was a strong over 1000 in a C2 and now two runs later he carries half a kilo less than he did when winning this track/distance/grade only 2 months ago. Was hammered into $1.60 last start before tramping wide throughout. TOPPA THE MOUNTAIN is a different horse when he can find the top. Back to the 1000 a bonus. GINGER CHARM has recorded impressive back to back wins at Port Hedland ad likely looks to kick through under Toppa The Mountain. LO LO LONHRO has been a handy pick up for Darryn Pateman. Numbers: 5 – 3 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – PAEROA LAD WIN RACE 3 OUR KIWI PRINCESS has been a model of consistency for Tom Pike this season. She’w in form, she’s carrying weight successfully and she’s coming off a career best win when exploding past Commands Respect on straightening. Hard to line up the Port Hedland form against the Broome form but this isn’t an overly deep race. CONTESSA MEDICI savaged the line last start coming from the clouds to finish third. COMMANDS RESPECT was a big winner two back but meets Our Kiwi Princess at level weights from last start when beaten almost 4L. TRISUEM scored an emotional win in the Marto Cob colours last start. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – OUR KIWI PRINCESS WIN RACE 4 KELLY’S LASSIE brings alternate form through victories at Port Hedland and Roebourne this season for Nadia Bishop. Senior rider on, shades on and rock hard fit. She’ll kick through from barrier 1 and likely lead this field for a long way. GAMBLER’S GOLD gets out to a mile and that’s the unknown. He won three starts back when leading throughout over 1435m but likely has to park outside or just off Kelly’s Lassie in the run and see out the trip. Class runner. BART’S BULLET is hit and miss. Yet to show his best this season. SEMIGEL also needs to run out the mile. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – KELLY’S LASSIE WIN RACE 5 GOT YA was woring to the line well last start in the Send It Son race. Beat home race day rivals Chilli Bean, Valbani and King Hallowell and with ZJP staying in the saddle she again only carries 52kg. This is a weak race and she gets her best chance since Derby to pinch one. KING HALLOWELL had a few excuses in that same event. Reunites with Austin Galati who kicked him home to victory at Port Hedland. AIN’T I A WOMAN and CHILLI BEAN both have speed to burn and from inside gates will be there for a long way. Numbers: 7 – 3 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – GOT YA WIN RACE 6 APPLE SCHNAPPS had been building and building at each and every run on the dirt until last start when he finally put it all together and he pulled right away from them late. He beat home subsequent winner Pit To Win by 1.7L and meets him half a kilo better at the weights in the Broome Sprint. Should get the right run and Alan Kennedy is a very strong high weight rider. Hard to beat. PIT TO WIN was enormous last start. Tramped three deep throughout and was simply too tough for them late. SILKINIZE is a stretch at the end of 1300m and the wide draw means he’ll have to work. LAND OF VALENS is jump and run and can kick through. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – APPLE SCHNAPPS WIN RACE 7 CHEERFUL MOMENT was a scratching 10 days ago and the Stewards Report listed the reason as a hoof abscess. Provided Aaron Pateman has been able to work through that minor set back he looks very hard to beat and an ideal dirt horse. Jump, run, roll from the 600 and really get opponents chasing and uncomfortable. Just needs to ensure he doesn’t get crossed early. GETYOURMONEYANDRUN, SEND IT SON and SONG CYCLE all ran really well in the same race last start that turned into a real slog over the last 150m. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – CHEERFUL MOMENT WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,3 FD 1,2,3,4,5,8 1,2 Market Market
