Harry Buchanan’s Wednesday Greyhound Best Bets Posted on August 2, 2023 | Posted by TABtouch CANNINGTON Race 2 No. 8 Sneaky George Strong win last week from a box he is not entirely suited to. Better placed out wide and will again use that good middle section to assert his strength and be very hard to stop again in this. Looks the one. Race 5 No. 5 Storm Alert and No. 7 Maxwell Smart Slow starts continue to plague the 5. However with some slippery beginners inside him, he will get one more chance to muster up into a forward slot and he can run on well from there to go close. His brother in 7 has some ability too but he gets back further and runs on late. In saying that, he is well suited out wide and could get into this sooner and be solid home. Race 6 No. 5 Electric Data Only has to offset the box. He’s ready to win and his form is outstanding for a race like this. Has early toe and sustains a strong run over this trip. This is infinitely easier than what he’s been up against lately and just needs a look. He gets it, he wins. Race 7 No. 2 Trendy Miss and No. 4 Kakadu Storm Some early speed in this race. 1, 2, 4, 5, 6 and 8 all go quick. The 2 could get the right run here beating the red out or putting her away up the back with a trail run. She’s a big price for a dog who won’t be run down here if she gets the arm at all. The 4 is racing out of his skin lately. Continues to put himself in races quickly and keep the run home going and gets the right map here to land close again. He can stick on. He does need to beat the 5 out who can step sharply. The 2 however is a great EW bet here and save the 4. Race 8 No. 2 Clifton Matilda and No. 6 Clifton Iyla The kennel mates could stun here. With the 1 showing speed but running off, it could open this up to trouble. Especially if the 7 finds trouble crossing. Both these kennel mates are strong with the better performed 2 dog the most likely to figure. However the 6 gets a spec as it’s not as weak as its form shows and while it need some luck, a small spec at $101 is worth it. The 2 is in this on merit though and she can go close. Race 9 No. 4 Left Right Now Still racing well and again put in another strong effort last week running 2nd. Continues to step well and while he gets wide, as he does, he keeps coming and this small field again suits. Will be up there and swinging wide to descend late again and can hit top 2 at good odds. Race 11 No. 8 Bounce Li Boxed perfectly. Way over the odds here. Should have won last start when the reserve held her up going into the back while the red was gifted a draw and the arm. Still kept coming at her and swap the boxes you swap the result. Needs her usual good step here and she will hold that high line to get into a spot and be hard to stop. Super chance of hitting top 2. THE MEADOWS Race 8 No. 1 Riptide Ruslie Better known as a stayer but the draw and class of this race might keep him close here and he has the bigger run home of the field that they can’t hold off. Look for him to wind up hard and take some stopping late. Race 10 No. 6 Gabby’s Gyros Finally!! Been screaming for the step up in trip and now it’s a matter of how low confidence is. Continues to storm home over the 500s in tough races too but has a flat spot through the middle that saw her knocked around a few times. If she gets a clean run, she will relish this trip. Can figure. Race 11 No. 6 Nagambie Bale Has a very strong form line and that puts him right in this. The 600m trip right on his limit but he will look for the top early and price hard to catch if he gets away on the arm. His best chance to break through is here. Top two player. Market Market
