Scott Embry’s Wednesday Pinjarra Preview Posted on March 7, 2023March 10, 2023 | Posted by Scott Embry RACE 1 ROYAL ELITE won first-up last preparation over 1400m and then went straight to the Burgess Queen Stakes and WA Champion Fillies Stakes. She was caught three wide throughout in her recent 1000m trial at Belmont Park and never gave it away. Likely settles midfield in the small field and there’s no standouts in this. If it is turned into a messy sit and sprint she’s every chance of sprinting over them and likely is on the third or fourth line in betting. LAQUETTA’S GIFT is the best credentialled runner in the field and after the Brayden Gaerth claim is the best weighted horse in the race. No speed in this and she’s capable of rolling forward. ROMANTIC RULER and AMERICAN SONGBOOK come through the same maiden. Not much between them. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet – ROYAL ELITE WIN RACE 2 FRANTIC WAR deserves to break through and win one. Gritty second to City Angel first-up after parking wide throughout, luckless when held up on multiple occasions at crucial stages behind Amber Glide and then ran second to well thought of S.A Miller 3 year old Rupert’s Empire. Has the straight track experience now and there’s no Ruperts Empires in this. JUST SO SASSY has shown blistering speed at trials. Jury is out on whether she can sustain it under race day pressure. CHEDDAR BOB should nearly find the outside fence and that’s worth lengths at times. DEAMBER chased hard behind Just So Sassy at trials. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 1 – 8 Suggested Bet – FRANTIC WAR WIN RACE 3 ART OF CONSENT has had three starts this preparation, two of those have been in 3 year old 0MWLY races when carrying more weight than she does here in an All-Age maiden event. She gets her chance to park up close handy to the speed on a Pinjarra surface which has suited on speed runners for the last 4-5 months and this looks a nice race shape for her to break through. BIRTHDAY BALLOT was huge at her return to racing when tramping deep throughout and only being swamped late by Amber Glide. Expect that form holds up. DESENNEA let rip with a big turn of acceleration in a fast run 1100m trial at Lark Hill. He ran straight past debut winner Stormy Tawny. MANHATTAN STRIP might be looking for further. Numbers: 9 – 10 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – ART OF CONSENT WIN RACE 4 YES OF COURSE has not been a popular horse with punters over his five-start career. Has an average career SP of $4 but is yet to really threaten. He’s looked good at trials but failed to bring it to race day. This is far and away the weakest race he has seen so far and from barrier 1 off 7 days he gets one final chance to show whether or not he’s got something to offer. Forget he went around last week, fresh run behind Vast Art and Cocoon Bay is good enough for this. ALWAYSONEMORE was an eye-catching run at his return. He did go round 70-1 and he did find the right part of the track (swooping down the centre). Need to see him reproduce. DESERT PETARD comes through an extremely fast run C1 behind Another Chino. DEEP THINKER was an encouraging return to racing. Numbers: 7 – 8 – 6 – 4 Suggested Bet – YES OF COURSE WIN RACE 5 ONE COOL GAL trialled nicely in blinkers for her return to racing and then won first-up without them on. Shades on here and she’s drawn to enjoy a stalking run following high-speed pair Famous Jurney and Ornamental Belle. Given that Jeanella is drawn barrier 1 and Civvy Street is drawn barrier 2 she likely either lands one out one back or one out two back. Think she’s got a bit of upside and looks in for a good preparation. JEANELLA has been placed to perfection this campaign by Adam Durrant, beating up on moderate country horses in Geraldton. Interesting to see how that form measures up. FAMOUS JURNEY chased hard down the 1000m straight. Better suited here. CIVVY STREET is still a C1 but gains the services of W.Pike. Numbers: 4 – 3 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – ONE COOL GAL WIN RACE 6 AWESOME CHATTER seems to have improved since they’ve ridden him with a sit. Great effort last start in a fast run Westspeed Platinum 1600 which has since produced 72+ winner Birdieagle and 60+ runner-up Mountain Ash. He is drawn to park midfield with cover and between Valley Of Queens, Hoist The Colours and even King Cruzer (if jumping) they should set a genuine tempo. Great race for him. ALLMAMONEY is the logical danger. Her last three runs in 66+ grade have been excellent and Brayden Gaerth is one from one aboard the mare. HOIST THE COLOURS also comes through the Mountain Ash race and never gave it away. WEE RIPPER is always there abouts in this grade. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – AWESOME CHATTER WIN RACE 7 HEAR MY PRAYER was well commissioned first-up behind Village Girl (subsequent 3 year old 0MWLY victor), ran third only a length off Divine Inanna and Spirit Man in a 3 year old 0MWLY (with the same weight he carries here in a C1) and then went to the 3 year old Magic Millions when 5.5L off Man Crush. Right grade, right map, right hoop. Big respect. MOCHA DREAM won with authority at Geraldton. He is now awkwardly placed 6 weeks between runs but he looks like he’ll be winning plenty more races. Genuine danger. SILVER BUGG has shades re-attached and Troy Turner is the only rider to have won on her. JUSTAMIDDY is bursting to win a race. Draw hurts. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 10 – 1 Suggested Bet – HEAR MY PRAYER WIN RACE 8 AMBER GLIDE is drawn barrier 1 which might not be ideal for a get back filly like her, however, her trial was electric at Lark Hill when gathering up debut winner Stormy Tawny and her debut victory when charging home from off the speed was highly impressive. This is a pretty deep C1 with a few chances and she’s definitely one of them. STARRING KNIGHT ran well first-up behind Deetea and Awesome Rival (beating home La Dette in the process). Drawn a gate and a senior goes on. LA DETTE beat home Too Dardy and Sizzle Me Patrick in her maiden win and then followed it up with a solid C1 effort. DIAMOND ROCKS won well at her first start for Ike Racing. This is lengths tougher but she’s capable. Numbers: 6 – 4 – 8 – 7 Suggested Bet – AMBER GLIDE WIN RACE 9 GREAT HEIST was excellent last start. It was (another) meeting where it was near impossible to make ground and he sustained a big run from a long way out in a race where the leader and eventual winner Garage Days broke them open in the middle stages. From barrier 1 he can enjoy a soft run in transit and this looks winnable for him at an eachway price. FLOWER IN THE WIND was completely luckless at her return to racing and then ended up in an awkward position second-up in a 60+ Graduation. Clearly come back well. KIA ORA JEWEL is one from one off 7 days and gains the services of William Pike. BANDALERA BEAU an improver. Numbers: 6 – 1 – 3 – 2 Suggested Bet – GREAT HEIST EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 6 – 9) 2,3 1,3,5,10 2,4,6,7,8 1,2,3,6 Market Market
